Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Male model Clement is back on the style guide...I forgot the JCA who likes him. 😍😊

  2. I will most def go this weekend to make a return. After stalking and finally receiving my order for the navy sailor pant I decided to return it. It's high waisted so wearing tops that are tucked in doesn't look good bec I'm short-waisted. And I already own similar wide leg navy linen pant-Gazebo.

  3. I've got two big sacks of returns to take in today. I hope I won't be the first transaction. It's sad to start the day in the negative. Doubt if I'll buy anything....I'm waiting for next weeks new things. I'm going to swing by Ann Taylor. They are doing 50% off everything. Now that's a sale!

  4. Stopped by yesterday and wound up buying the Cropped Chambray Ruffle Pant. I didn't like the look of them online as I don't tuck in so the ruffle detail would be wasted on me, but I really loved the fabric and sale was an extra 40% so I gave them a try. They're very high waisted, but once I pulled my top over them they looked fine. TTS (in 12), and length was great on me (5'9"), just the right amount of ankle, and a classic straight cut opening, not too skinny, and not kicked (I love kicked but probably already bought too many of those when the Sammies and Teddies hit clearance). It will be a great spring/summer work pant, but fine for casual as well.
Also grabbed a Scoopback Ballet T-shirt in Navy for a few bucks. I found it ran small and went up to an XL.

    1. I have the chambray pants coming. I saw them in the store and the fabric was so nice. Unfortunately stores didn't have my size so I ordered online; hoping that I ordered the right size and that they fit.

    2. I forgot to mention, the pockets may be an issue for some people. The 12s I tried on had the pockets sewn closed and looked fine. The 14s I tried for comparison had the pockets open and they really seemed to stick open. I'm not sure if it's because they were to big for me, or if the ruffle makes them more prone to sticking out, but I'm prepared to keep the pockets sewn shut if necessary. It could also be that I carry my weight around the middle, so perhaps it's not an issue for those on the slimmer side.

  5. If new arrivals had been this week...I would have made the effort.
Its a long weekend up here in Canada...good for spring shopping. J Crew you should have had your new arrivals in store for Easter weekend....just saying..

    1. My thoughts exactly. But I guess they rather you spend money elsewhere on new arrivals.

  9. Meant to add that I during my quick lunchtime visit, I picked up the Sailboat blueprint tee--other JCAs recommended this item and I couldn't resist, as I love all things nautical. I can envision wearing this with my Anchors skirt, blue-striped pencil and countless other summer outfits.

I did NOT buy the pretty Colette D'Orsays in Glitter Safari -- they were $139, minus 40%, but this is the kind of shoe that I long to wear, yet seldom do, due to feet issues, etc. Earlier this year I bought the Calf Hair version, which I've worn all of once. They're just not heels I turn to first thing (I find other styles/heels more comfortable.) I thought of a lot of the tips everyone was offering yesterday so decided it was best to listen to those voices!

    1. @TM93, I couldn't resist the sailboat tee either and love it! Agree that it will be great with lots of outfits. Good for you resisting the shoe purchase! I'm trying to be strong too when it comes to willpower against fantasy life purchases/sale deals. :)

    2. @Jan, thanks! I'm also trying to keep in mind something else I've heard JCAs say on this forum - wait for something better to come along. Sometimes I become restless and eager to buy something, so I'll buy something, but then a short time later, I'll see something that I REALLY like. So I'm learning to bide my time.

Anyways, I meant to add that the item I returned was #G1257, Collection pleated silk skirt in Ratti® geo print - I think I mentioned eyeing this one at some point. The print is really cool, but the pleats combined with a fitted waist and below the knee length were not a flattering look on me. The silk is pretty nice though, but it just didn't do anything for my figure. Oh well, there will be more stuff in the future!

      Delete
    3. @TM93 I feel like that tee is becoming official with the JCAs. Nicely done with the shoes, too.

  10. I stopped by Factory today as it was on my way to the Jelly Belly Factory Store. Bought champagne-flavored jelly beans but I digress.

Factory had 50% or more off the whole store including clearance as well as a few addl promos. Chino shorts were $14.95 which is a great price but ugh, the fabric is paper thin. Necklaces were 60% off. I bought a very cute and well-made cargo-style skirt that is new - comes in denim, stone, and olive.

    1. Not sure if you've checked out the retail chino shorts this year, but the fabric is significantly thinner for them as well. The online reviews are terrible...hopefully Jcrew listens!

    2. Ruffles, you're prepared for a classy Easter. Wish I had thought to do champagne jelly beans myself!

  11. Hey everybody....just back from doing returns. I mentioned next weeks roll out and they gave me a catalog and said a few things were already on the site. I quickly looked through the catalog...oh, sorry Style Guide...and found the Wide Leg Cropped pants in Vintage plaid and the Salut! tee and ordered them from the store....and they weren't exempt from the sale...got 25% off! Yah! I'm looking at the style guide now and well...I don't see much I want. There is a pair of striped pants with HUGE legs and a drawstring waist that are ridiculously stupid looking. When a garment makes a MODEL look terrible...how's it going to look on us normal folks???! More ruffles, off the shoulder, paper bag waists, a huge baggy top that is partial sequined in stripes, more cropped sailor pants, one shoulder tops...I think it's save to say I'm not buying much this time around. And there is a pencil skirt with a big piece of rick rack sewn around the hem. It makes me think of something I made in 8th grade home-ec class.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @Stray Cat, I know exactly which striped pants you're talking about! J.Crew is currently running a big campaign on the NYC subway (an entire side of a subway car will feature ads from the same company) and these wide-legged, blue striped pants are featured prominently. I agree that very few could pull off this exaggerated look! I'm glad you were able to pre-order some other goodies though. Re) pencil skirt with the rick rack, your comment made me laugh bc I noticed it in the preview and I do like the white version, but you're right, it's pretty simple. I don't know if this comes in Petite anyways. A lot of the other offerings don't appeal to me either (OTS, cold shoulder, one shoulder, etc). My wallet is safe... for now!

      Delete
  12. Other shopping....Ann Taylor is having 50% everything...I stopped in and bought a cute dress. It's called "Striped sleeveless belted dress". It's navy, orange, pink and olive stripes and super cute. It's cotton which I love and lined. Very flattering with a high waisted tie belt and pockets too. Also picked up a new pair of navy checked slim cropped pants.

  14. I doubt I will get to a store this weekend unless I manage to stop in to a Boston store when I visit my daughter. (Maybe?!)

I did receive a shipment tonight which included the short sleeve chambray OTS shirt. Unlike the longer sleeve one this works on the shoulder too. I tried it on quickly but my initial feeling is that I really like it. Posted a pic on IG @wearthislikethis.

My order also included a bunch of shoes:
-red and white striped Seavees. These are super cute and fit TTS. I'll try them on with shorts and see how comfy they feel. They're nice. If they're comfortable enough for walking around sockless I will keep them.
-the flat espadrilles with ankle ties in. Fresh cream. I read reviews and ordered my larger size (and my smaller size just in case, they're only offered in whole sizes.) visually I love them but I don't think the fit works for me.
-lucite heels in black. I ordered these a while back but was sent the wrong color. Reviews said they ran small but I find them TTS. I love them and also posted a pic on IG.

From Madewell I received the scalloped edge shorts. They're really thin. The scallop edge is unfinished. Reviews ssaid they ran big but my usual XS just fits. The sale price is great but I can't see them washing well, I think they might unravel. As much as I can use an easy throw on and go pair of black shorts, I'd rather spend a little more on the J.Crew ones. The more structured style looks much nicer.

    1. I also received the chambray tie sleeve too from Madewell, which is also available in white, light blue and I think a stripe. It's cute but has a slight A line shape and likemost Madewell tops, is short. I don't think the fit works well for me. And again, even though the price is great, I don't think it's right for me,

    2. Thanks so much for your review of the scalloped shorts! I was just about to order them (final sale and all), but now I'm re-thinking that.

  15. I'd like to visit my retail store to see the new Liberty prints in person. I just crave beautiful prints this time of year and I didn't see much in the May style guide, but I'm hopeful.

Please, J Crew, some gorgeous prints this year. Who remembers Campo De Fiori, Golden Roses, Library, Waterfloral Pastiche, Milla, Coppelle, Punk Floral, snow Leopard? I could go on ...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes!! I still wear my Golden Roses pencil skirt and the silk Library skirt, which I dress down. It is so fun and unique. I recall those others, too, but didn't buy. We need more special prints for sure. I did appreciate the Drake's prints in silk. They feel special.

    2. Whoa, I just wore my Factory Golden Roses Victoria cami on Wednesday. I was obsessed with both that print and that cami style, so I bought two. I wear my Campo de Fiori sweater dress at least once for the season. My absolute favorite print is the Giverny floral though. I really do miss when they did these really great prints. I will forever hold on to the hope that I will find a swoon worthy print from J.Crew again.

    3. ordered a (Girls') cotton top in a cute print - G4327 - hope my guess at translating the size to old ladies' works!

    4. WFF, that Seaside Floral is cute. A nod to the great prints of yore.

      Delete
    5. I've never seen Campo de Fiori IRL, but when I came across it online while looking for something else a few months ago, I was agog! What a amazing print! And I've always loved Library as well, and just looked up Golden Roses now to see it and will be watching for eBay items in that one. I do like the Liberty Thorpe print for this season, but am not tempted as I don't like it as well as those I already have (Susanna and another one I can't remember the name of). I did love the Liberty print J.Crew chose a few years ago, Tresco, I think that's what sparked my interest in Liberty prints.

    6. D*ska, forgot about Giverny. Top 10 for sure.

    7. I saw that girls' Seaside Floral top in store yesterday. The colors are gorgeous...it as one of the only items that made me stop and look. I'm not sure if I loved the fabric though..it's a thick cotton, not sure how it will look on.

    8. Yes, gardenshade is my forever love. I also loved the bayberry print, peacock paisley, and pretty much anything they have ever described as an "abstract floral"

So much for thoughtful shopping but eyelet is missing in my closet and I do love it just haven't found the perfect dress yet. Hopeful this will be it!!!

      Delete
    4. I noticed that too and came here to share but Suz beat me to it ;) It is a good price but after y'alls discussion yesterday I think it's very shady they have it on "promo" for $98 when that is the original price!

      Delete
    5. It's still there, how weird since technically it hasn't been released yet

      Delete
    6. If it came in black I'd be super tempted!

      Delete
    7. I just ordered the green one. I knew they would eventually read this blog and adjust the price.

      Delete
    8. I wonder if they're trying to change the price to $98 like the style guide says but put it in promo instead of adjusting the full price. I'm annoyed that Canada still shows $175. I decided to ship the green one to the U.S. since I have to go there soon and the price diff is huge right now. Annoyed at these games but also feel bad for jcrew making another error.

      Delete
    9. Wow! You guys are awesome, thanks for posting! at that price, the dress is definitely worth a try, so I just ordered the navy. They also put the new liberty print lace up sundress on "sale" plus the 25% off, so it came out to $88- down from $168! I love a good glitch in their system 😉

      Delete
    10. ^^yes, this is probably what happened and it's a big mess up by whomever did it. Now they're practically giving away a popular dress. Get it while you can! I'm not so into eyelet but hope other ladies can snap it up.

      Delete
    11. I meant 40% off on top of the "sale" price- which brought the total to $88 for the sundress in liberty thorpe. I think they have already fixed that glitch though because I just sent it to a friend and the sale price wasn't showing up

      Delete
    12. I feel bad, too, Jan. They seem to have these kinds of glitches often enough that you'd think they'd triple check things by now. (Also, this error has been up since Suz Has first noticed it at 5:30 am and it's still up six hours as of this writing.) Oh well. I ordered the dress in white, but I really need the petite size being so short. See if I can exchange it eventually.

      Delete
    13. I don't think they fixed the liberty Thorpe dress - just did a mock check out and it was $88 with the promo code.

      Delete
    14. What size do you recommend in the eyelet dress. I been btwn 0 and 2..... awsome price, may get navy and white.... thanks all

      Delete
    15. It's also possible they did it so the dresss sells quickly and gets good reviews.

      Delete
    16. @Suz Has, it's possible, but they fixed the price on that other mis-priced dress, the Striped Lace-up one to the correct price and made it eligible for the 25% promo. I bet they meant to do the sane with the Eyelet one - fix the price to match the catalog and make it eligible for the promo, not sale.

      Delete
    17. Re) the Eyelet dress - I'm looking for the Petite version so I entered 'eyelet' and search and the Regular version popped up in the results, with the $98 price and 25% off promo ticket. But when you click on the product, it still offers the $98 price with 40% lettering. Ooops!

      Delete
    18. did anyone take a screenshot of the eyelet pricing fluke? I need it for CS to honor the weekend price! they insist that none of the items changed from sale to FP since the promo started.

  23. I also ordered the Merino wool sweater blazer in black. It's waitlisted for a while but I won't need it for a long while. I hemmed and hawed, dawdled and wavered over the black, and while I don't wear this color much, I'm pretty positive that I'll use this enough to justify another purchase of this blazer. Should have gotten two grays too, but alas. I have my fingers crossed for a deep, rich forest green come fall.

I'm just so happy that I remembered Ebates for once.

Can't wait for the blush to arrive. My site had 40% off sale too. Wanted to try wide leg khaki sailor chino since I love my striped ones. Fit is tts and for $35 I picked them up. Also bought a couple of gifts for Mother's Day. Green poppy drop earrings & navy foulard silk pj pants for mom since she loves everything I wear. Ordered stripe cotton trench that's on super sale; it's a really good buy for $70 and this is the type of jacket that I'll wear. I love stripes & navy/khaki is a versatile option for my wardrobe. 2. I called for a PA from 30% off sale to 40% off. It also took a while as they tried to tell me the items were only 25% off. I had to have SA put items in a mock cart so she could see the 40% discount applied to sale items. (Though there was a giant banner reading 40% off sale.) SA was very nice and they did eventually credit me the difference, but it shouldn't be this hard.

  29. Yesterday I popped in because I was right next door returning a pair of shoes at Talbots. I thought maybe I'd see something of interest on the sales rack. But what caught my eye was the Florida Print jacket sweater on the mannequin paired with the navy/white new Perfect tee and white jeans. I didn't think I needed that sweater...ha, until I saw how cute that pairing was. So I go to buy it and find that it's exempt from the promo. I didn't get upset but asked if it was exempt from the $20.00 off $100.00 purchase and the CS rep said no. That would have been great, but I had my tiny wallet and didn't have my coupon on me. So this very kind CS rep gives me the $20.00 off the $75.00 sweater even though I didn't buy $100.00 worth of merchandise (they didn't have the tee shirt in my size in the store...so I was going to drive to another store and buy it at 25% off) and I didn't have the coupon on me. She didn't have to do that. I thought that was going beyond the call of duty! J. Crew has it's problems, but they have THE BEST customer service of any retailer I deal with!

  35. That's awesome Suz! Over the weekend I bought the short sleeve denim shirt with the peter pan collar and the pink paisley scarf that came out a couple months ago. Got the shirt for $20.00 (it was $79.50) and the scarf for $15.00 (it was $49.50). It's nice to find good deals on JCrew things on ebay!
