J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. My local J Crew closed (twelve oaks mall in Novi, MI). It was there the last time I was at the mall at the beginning of March. The J Crew catalog I got in the mail still lists it as the local store. No idea how much notice was given about the store shutting down. Now the Detroit area only has 1 J Crew. Not a good sign.

    1. Hard to tell from your comment...the 12 Oaks location is closing? That's bad, with the addition of the Nordstrom quite a few years ago I feel like they were trying to elevate the store selection and getting rid of the Crew will be a step in the wrong direction for the nall. Somerset is too far and too crazy of a parking situation to go to sometimes, I'll be sad to see it go if it truly is gone from Novi. (Take these comments with a grain of salt if I'm way off base, I'm not in Michigan anymore but I go back to visit family pretty often)

    2. 12 Oaks closed. The Nordstrom at 12 Oaks doesn't carry J Crew either. I don't know why they picked Somerset Nordstrom to have J Crew. If I am at somerset and want J Crew I will walk over to the store.

    3. I was just at 12 oaks this weekend and much to my surprise the J Crew is closed :(. I was shocked. Now, Somerset is my local mall so I still have access to J Crew. We went to 12 Oaks for the Cheesecake Factory :)

    4. I'm surprised by this because just last week I checked to see if Somerset had ship to store - it didn't, but the Twelve Oaks location did. Seems odd that they'd ship to a closing (or rather, closed) store. So sad that it closed!

  2. The new arrivals were just uploaded to the site. There doesn't appear to be anything in addition to what we could already find by typing in pre-order last week. I already pre-ordered the one thing that interests me. The rest is a big meh to me, or I think it's cute on the model but won't work for my figure. There are only 2 collection items, and neither are appealing. What a disappointment.

    1. None of the ruffles, off the shoulder, or lace up items are anything I could wear to work anyway but the roll out does not inspire me. I think this particular trend cycle and I aren't meant to be but it happens. All of the pom poms though, if I have a hard time with regular tees, please tell me how pom pom shirts get washed, I think we need a regular thread devoted to J Crew laundry!

    2. Ugh. Another disappointing rollout, IMO. The single thing I am interested in - the Marties in warm clover - are inexplicably not available in tall, which I need. None of the tops or dresses are practical to suit my lifestyle. Am I over J Crew?

      Delete
    3. I maybe over J Crew as well/ no orders placed for ages!

    4. There were a few things in there that at least I hadn't noticed during last week's pre-order search (silk-tie shoulder peplum top, linen-cotton eyelet top, muscle tank w/ sequins.) Hadn't noticed this print before earlier:

No must-haves either way -- the things I do want can wait for sale!

    5. I almost fell asleep scrolling through this morning's new arrivals.

    6. Actually I spoke too soon. There were a few additional items up when I got up this morning. Two of the dresses I thought were too short have now appeared in tall sizes so I may try those out. And I may try out the TM striped maxi dress--though it may be too OTT for me when I get it. A few others are potentially try-ons once they reach sale.

  3. I like the new "Shop the Campaign" feature that shows looks from NYFW. It's kinda quirky to find, so here's the link if interested. Tulle polka dot hem ruffle skirt made it to production. It's a collection piece, no surprise. No need for it, but fun to look at.

    1. Thank you for the tip Tara! Oh boy, that skirt is close to 1k and it's cotton-poly plus nylon (not even mentioning the unlikelyhood that petite me could pull it off)...

    2. I wasn't expecting that khaki skirt to be that pricey. It would be ridiculously expensive to shorten at the tailor for us shorties as well.

      Delete
    3. Thanks, mygoddy! I'm also surprised this piece made it to production -- it's not at all flattering to the model, so I can't imagine how it'd begin to look on most - i wish they would've at least styled it with a belt but then it would be even less practical:

      (It's the Collection Thomas Mason® for J.Crew tie-front jumpsuit Item G4619 $178.00.)

    4. @TM yes the first thing I thought is that is a maternity jumpsuit. I think they had it on a pregnant women at NYFW too!

Where does one wear the khaki cotton tulle flamenco skirt, other than a fashion blog photo shoot?

    5. @Cass, I remember the pregnant model!!

    6. According to the product description on the ruffle/tulle ballskirt, it has "4,800 yards" of fabric.... can you imagine how heavy that would be?! Lol!

      Delete
    7. 4800 yards of fabric? Uh, I think that decimal needs to head left. It takes no more than 10 yards to reupholster a chair, and that's not a wingback's worth of fabric.

  4. Does anybody know the details of the blue short-sleeve sweater with a bird (toucan? hornbill?) pictured with the white ruffled shorts G2044?

    1. Hi Alyssa - looks like it's the Tippi short-sleeve toucan sweater (G4328).

    2. Thanks! It was hidden from search until west coast midnight, I guess.

      Delete
  5. Not much for me. I already preordered what I wanted-ruffle sweater in navy and white mesh tretorns.
Only thing I'm mildly interested in are the tie waist shorts, Rhodes linen pant in white, Toothpick Jean in pink (like how it's styled w a khaki shirt)...

    ReplyDelete
  6. It's totally not me but I think that ruffled wrap skirt is really beautiful. If it came in black I'd be tempted. I love the way the blue stripe one is paired with the matching top for the "hookup." I'd add a wide belt. Such a great summer night/vacation ensemble.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Meh. The EYelet Shirtdress will probably be my only purchase from this rollout. Most of the styles don't suit me and aren't really practical for my life. I always find that I need fewer clothes for spring/summer and have plenty of vacation/ special occasion stuff.

No prints really grabbed me. And all the cutesy motifs - lemons, palm trees, giant birds - look like outfits for retirees wintering in Florida. I don't want to look like I shop at Bealls, and if you are familiar with that store, you know what I mean.

    2. It's been raining since the beginning of time where I live....I WISH I was retiring in Florida...and wearing my Florida motif sweater!!!

      Delete
    3. Ruffles, you're killing me with this description and now I won't be able to cut the association between all those prints and the Floridian retirees, teehee! I usually like lemons (and cherries, for that matter) as a theme/print, but I'm not loving JC's take on these either.

    4. My 8 year old son was reading the comments and asked if the fruit prints were scratch and sniff; like those stickers from back in the day! That may be the new selling point with where JC is heading.

  9. I thought the palm tree Tippi (and skirt) were cute. There are a couple of map square scarves that reminded me of the ones Madewell used to do. Has anyone seen the Midi sundress in magnificent floral? At first glance, I like the print. The dress reminds me of old-school Crew. I noticed they're offering an 8" Toothpick and a 9" Lookout High Rise.

    1. @cate, I had the same idea when I saw the new square scarves. I love, love the Madewell Storyteller scarves. Really wish I'd collected a few more before they discontinued them.
I'm still hoping Madewell will bring them back. And the skimmers too!!

  10. green eyelet dress of 40 shades of green (phone, ipad, catalog, laptop, his phone, sister's laptop, her phone ... all devices vary with the page, too!) and salut tee supposedly arriving today. starting to feel dubious about the dress, especially since the purple shirt is consistently Grape Jelly purple. will post update.

    1. I'm wondering about the green too! I saw a pic from the concept store on instagram @avillasb which may be a truer representation. Look forward to your thoughts when you receive it!

      Delete
    2. I love that green dress...I would have ordered it but I have very similar green dress. I think one is enough. Thought about ordering it in white...but I can't seem to commit to the white dress thing.

      Delete
    3. @Stray Cat--I have the green Madeleine wool gabardine dress from a few years ago, so I passed on the green eyelet dress as well. It's a very pretty green though.

      Delete
    4. I stopped by the store and tried on the green eyelet dress. The color is a beautiful dark emerald rather than true kelly green. Unfortunately the dress was overwhelming on my petite frame. I thought it ran large so sized down to a 00 from my typical 0. But as I'm barely over 5' it hit well below my knee and looked frumpy. Petite size would be better for me all around, but I just didn't love it on me. It was too matronly. Another shopper thought the same thing - beautiful color, too much dress. Oh well. I hope others can rock this dress. Size down unless you are busty or need extra room in the waist. HTH

      Delete
    5. The dress is on its way to me but I am wondering about the fit. Anxious to see it. I am short-waisted and 34d, and while I like the fabric, I'm concerned that the high crew neckline and bodice shape won't be flattering for anyone with curves on top.

      Delete
    6. green dress arrived. nicely made, lighter than a true Kelly green, lined... fit is a little off. needs some thought.

    7. Thanks for the reviews of it ladies! I'm a bit nervous about mine arriving as returns are a pain and I am worried about fit

  11. I just see can-can dancer or saloon bar maid when I look at those big ruffle trimmed wrap skirts...and that khaki one with tulle...it's just ugly. Too many ruffles and tulle for me. It seems very "costumey". I'm thinking about the white lace up sailor skirt, the Morning Floral scarf and maybe the Toucan sweater. That sweater may be too costumey too. Ha.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @Stray Cat - that khaki skirt with the tulle is styled with a bodysuit. Can you imagine wearing both of those pieces and having to use the loo -- you'd have to dig under yards of bulky fabric and tulle in an effort to get to and undo those three small snaps. Talk about impractical!

    2. That's for going to a party for 2-3-4 hours without using the restroom 😂.

    3. And NOT drinking anything. HA! I call these types of garments "S&M clothing"....NOT what you're thinking..but in this case it seems rather apropos. "S&M" means "standing and modeling". Completely useless, silly, cumbersome garments unless you're just standing and modeling. Hee!

    5. TM93 that's a hysterical visual!

  12. I'm underwhelmed for sure. I think that's typical of this time of year though. I always buy a lot of summer things and barely wear them so in line with recent conversations about more thoughtful purchases, I'm trying to be smart about what gets purchased for the warmer months (that I spend in an air conditioned office). So many off the shoulder items - I get that it's trendy but does everything need to be OTS?

I like the dome gem crystal ring in the pastel colors, and even though I just bought pastel pink jeans from BR (that I love)those candy pink jeans are calling my name. Linen is just not a favorite for me, and the bric a brac...sigh. Not a fan of that either. I did order the lace up shirt dress though since I wore the black one nonstop last summer.

I'll still stop in to try things on this weekend and check things out in person. Next rollout is mid-May...

    ReplyDelete
  13. I am also not feeling it. I ordered the Eyelet Dress this past weekend with the pricing fluke and it should be here tomorrow so I will review once received. The only other things I added to the wish list was the lace up dress and long sleeve chambray shirtdress. These types of dresses are always a hit or miss with me. The lace up one seems more promising but will not be placing an order today. Everything else is just not my style or not practical for my life. I don't like any of the prints as of late or the ots or ruffles everywhere. Glad my wallet is safe.

    1. JessF I tried the lace up dress in store on Saturday. It's short like last year's version so depending on how tall you are - the tall version may be necessary as was last year. I'm 5'8" and size 8 on top/10 on bottom and the Medium was several inches above my knees. I ordered the tall version.

      Delete
    2. Thanks Anne! I am 5'4" and normally a 6-ish so regular length usually works for me. Hoping to get to a store to try on which is not that easy for me as the closest one is 45 mins. away. I will have to stop in to return one or two of the eyelet dresses as I purchased all three colors but am not keeping them all. With my upcoming schedule I may not be able to make it in until mid May. If I were excited about more items the visit might be higher on the priority list.

  14. I dropped $20 on some 7" shorts and a tortoise hair wrap this morning, and think I'm good-ha! Waiting on the white mesh Tretorns and tortoise hoop earrings to arrive. I have enough warm-weather office clothes to last a few years. Only really "need" casual clothing for summer (cute tees/tops), and I'm just not finding those at J Crew right now. :(

  15. Oh-I'm waffling on keeping the lookout crops in mint-anyone want to chime in either way? Feel like my usual lookout size is a bit baggy, but the size down is sold out. I wish they had done this style in pink instead of the toothpicks; those would have been a no-brained purchase for me...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No-brainer (thanks, autocorrect) 😂

      Delete
    2. Wendy, there's a full size run in the mint high rise jeans...not to be an enabler. I have the mint ones and concur on the fit - the waist is a tad big on my regular size but not sure a size down would fit my rear end. I wore them yesterday though and really like the pale mint color ( I had an old factory pair that was more saturated mint but barely wore them). I wore them yesterday with a navy and white striped tee, navy flats and a grey leather jacket. Wore a belt and the waist issue was ok. But...if they're not a perfect fit and you won't wear them...they're probably a return.

    3. Enable away, Anne, but I have to have the tall size :) Love the styling idea-thanks!

  16. I just placed the biggest order I have made in ages. Liking some new colors in petite shirts, especially: ikat popover in aqua ocean, boy shirt in faded blossom and fern and a reg size short sleeve in hat print. Still lamenting that petite sized vintage t's seem to have been discontinued.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Liking the: Linen-cotton Eyelet shirt (debating between navy and white), Ruffle top in Liberty Thorpe floral, Short-sleeve top in hat print (love the style and the cute print),
Popover in gingham Ikat (not usually a big fan of gingham, but this looks unique and pretty color), Going Places dress (really like this style especially with the ric rac trim), Scalloped Eyelet top and Tiered skirt hook-up (wish I had somewhere to wear this!)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Also debating about the Striped Tie waist top. Really like it, but not sure it will work without looking overwhelming or silly with the bow.

      Delete
    2. maryeb....I really like that top and have ordered it in the white. I'm just concerned it will be too short and show off my stomach. NOT a look I'm going for. HEE!

    3. I love these tops and look forward to your thoughts Straycat!

      Delete
    4. Yea, I had that thought too, @straycat, especially since I'm thinking of ordering it in petite. I don't mind wearing a thin tank under it, though. I have a lot of favorite fit tanks.
I'd love to hear what you think when you get it!!

    5. @maryeb, I ordered that Striped Waist-Tie top over the w/e. It arrives tomorrow so I'll let you know what I think of it then!

I think that Going Places dress is SO pretty, but that silhouette doesn't work for me. Also love the eyelet hook-up, but like you, nowhere to wear it to! I also Wishlisted that Cotton-linen top.

    6. Looking forward to the tie-waist shirt reviews. I don't have a white shirt, and this concept is appealing in that it's still simple but a bit different. I love a defined waist, too.

    7. I have a dozen or so white shirts but I adore a tie waist shirt. Unfortunately for my long torso it seems too short, unless I wore it with something really high waisted.

  18. Can anyone comment on the Long Cardigan Sweater with Striped Back (G4860) and/or the Skinny Pencil Skirt in Ponte (G4546). Compared to my Classic Merino Cardigans, the measurements on this cardigan seem to run large. And the Skinny Pencil Skirt seems to run really small. I called CS for some guidance, but after hearing that the skirt measurements were for the outside of the skirt and not the inside (which is where I should measure the skirt), I've come to the conclusion that I just need to order a bunch of sizes to see what fits. Ina???

  19. Anyone tried the "Salut!" t shirt? I have not purchased a J Crew tee with writing on it since about 2006 but this one seems like it'd be cute under a cardi. I noticed they start the sizing with XXXS which tells me it might run loose...(?)
Also, any comments on how the linen campbell blazer fits? (G3958) Only familiar with the schoolboy fit, but reviews of the campbell say to go down a size..

    1. I just bought this shirt in the store an hour ago! I would size up for a more comfortable fit, unless you prefer to wear your shirts very fitted. I'm 5"3 135# and I took a medium. I felt like the small was a wee bit too short for my liking! Hope this helps! I also have the California destination tee and sized up to a medium in that one also.

  20. I think I found something I dislike more than J.Crew's "Freak Out" pricing and list: their new "No-Brainer" designation. Really? Really J.Crew? Is that really supposed to entice me? "Hmmm...not sure about this top....oh look, it's a no-brainer! Sold!"

  21. Ok....I order the white wrap shirt with tie, the white sailor tie skirt, the morning floral scarf and the navy honeymoon tassel earrings. I'm wearing the white earrings today and I love them...so I "needed" the navy too!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @StrayCat, I ordered the navy tassel earrings the other day even though I don't have pierced ears I'm hoping to convert them to clip on. I really never wear earrings due to that but they were too tempting. Glad you love the white ones. :)

      Delete
    2. @shopgrrrl that phrasing is a little much, agreed.

      Delete
    3. @Jan do you convert the earrings yourself? Can you tell me what you have found that works best? All the kits on Amazon seem to get mixed reviews. I'm tempted to try on an inexpensive pair first.

      Delete
    4. Hi Muffin, I only did it once before with the ones where you stick the post into the converter and bend the post down. It was ok but not great (the earrings were large which helped). This time I'm going to use wire cutters to cut off the post and glue them (gorilla glue) onto a clip on converter. (One that doesn't have a spot for a post.) I've seen other people say theyve done that. If it works I wil do it to the honeymoon tassel earrings. I bought converters from Amazon (Canada) and them seem ok. They have a flat front that you would glue something on. If it works I'll post on this blog. I just need to get around to trying it. :)

    5. Thanks for your response. I really hope it works for you. You've inspired me to at least try with a cheapie pair!

  22. I'd like to try the ruffle boatneck sweater but am worried that it will be too short. I like the salut tee (but just bought the sailboat one), the eyelet dress in green which I ordered on the weekend and the Lottie sandals. Last week I ordered the gingham ruffle hem dress from last rollout. My shopping slowdown hasn't been going so well lately.

    1. The ruffle boatneck sweater looks adorable, and like something I would wear often. It is pricey, but I'm putting it on my list. I adore short -sleeve sweaters, and a nice one is hard to find. Interested in how the fabric feels and what temps it would be appropriate in.

    1. I ordered a pair. I have "strong" legs as well. I wish I would have sized up. I would have preferred a looser fit. I found the elastic in the waist strangely tight and would have like too see a little more drape around my rear and thighs.

  25. I seem to be buying more from their spring/summer rollout instead of my usual fall/winter. I ordered quite a bit this morning to try, feeling the summer mood hit me: liberty Thorpe ruffle top, Salut tee, floral paisley cotton top, large Italian silk scarf in floral paisley, ruched femme swimsuit in floral paisley (yes, I seem to be overdosing on this print), light blue placed striped boatneck tshirt, packable straw hat and packable ripstop grocery tote bag. I also like the ruffle wrap skirt in shirting stripe but even the petite sizing is too long for me.

I am surprisingly drawn to that toucan sweater. It will look good with white jeans or skirt. Resisted and will wait for reviews.

  26. Hey everybody! I've been looking at those "Jane Birkin" high water and high waisted raw edge jeans on some sites and think they are adorable. But I'm not paying $100's for that look. So today I went to the thrift stores and found some jeans that were for shorter ladies than me and have a flair and highwaisted and I'm going to cut them off and making my own Birkin style jeans. For like 5 bucks. Also hit Target. I think I've bought just as much from Target as I have from the Crew this Spring. They are doing a super job with some really cute things that look pretty upscale. I'm really impressed!

    1. I recall son better purses in the past. But I also remember things like those tie-silk rectangles with rowing oar motifs and heavy chain straps. It wasn't a perfect past!

    2. Have you checked out Roots for purses? They make great bags, I was admiring some this morning, and they're 30% off today. My friend was carrying her navy Roots bag from 3-4 years ago and it still looks amazing, their leathers are the best.

    3. I'm going to take a look at at Roots. Thanks!

    4. It's great to see you on the blog @gigi! You look lovely in both dresses, the green looks like a beautiful color. In your post you mentioned natori bras- it was because of a post you did a couple of years ago that I tried the feathers bra which I always wear now - so thank you! :)

  31. Stopped in today,
Some nice stuff but nothing I'm interested in was on the floor. Tie waist shorts look really nice but they only had pink and white and I want the black. I hope they work for me. (Didn't have much time so I didn't bother to try on for size.)

Got a little score at Madewell. I was eyeing the windowpane ruffle-hem skirt
item g2199 online at Madewell but didn't want to take a chance on final sale. I love wearing little black skirts out at night in the summer and the window pane print works with a lot. Waist runs a tiny bit small but manageable. It was on sale for $9.99 with 30% off in store so a great price.

    2. Let us know if you pos pics of the skirt. What a nice deal. I would like "something" in windowpane but haven't found it yet. At the moment the something I have is maternity, and... no.

    3. I will later. I tried it on with a black and white gingham tuxedo shirt at home but wasn't crazy about it. The fit of the skirt is cute though. The ruffle isn't too exaggerated and it's short but not obscene. I think it will be great for vacation too because it packs up really tiny. ;)

    4. Oh--at J.Crew, the cropped chambray pants with the tie belt, really nice detail is the pockets and waistband have a subtle contrast against the other fabric. Very cute.

    5. I didn't see the chambray pants- will ask next time.

      Short but not obscene...perfect :D

    6. @sarah fold, posted pics on IG. note: the skirt is sitting higher on my waist now post dinner, it's actually a little longer than it looks!

  32. Stopped in today. Was hoping for tie-waist shorts, but none had come in, neither solid nor liberty. Tie-waist shirt was also absent. The eyelet dresses looked nice enough but wrinkly in person. The green is indeed striking.

Liberty Thorpe wasn't as Nic IRL as I had hoped. The ruffle shirt fabric just didn't look as polished as other Liberty pieces. I will give it a second glance, because I pre-ordered it in the dress.

Chambray off the shoulder dress was a total love for me. It fit really well on my hourglass figure. Love the belted tie waist, color, softness of the fabric, and of course, pockets! This is my second OTS piece (also the Liberty Edenham top, which I wore for Easter and felt totally cute in). I will cap it at these two items, I think. I had an OTS knit sweater from my aunt several years ago and I wore it out. This trend is being absolutely overdone IMO but I'm really happy about the pieces I found that work for me.

Silk peplum tie top was pretty. Usually I cannot abide colorblocking, but navy and white in silk was quite good. This would be a nice summer evening out to dinner on the patio top. I don't desperately need one of this yet (boo), but if this one goes on sale I may buy.

Western Chambray shirt and a merino Jackie cardigan are what I ended up using the $20 off $100 stripes day promo card on. I now have one chambray/denim work-style shirt and two, read it, two, cardigans. Yep. Recovering gravy and clearance shopper here. Two nice perfect-fitting basics added to my wardrobe, thank you. The Western shirt is tailored and fits so well. I like the pearl snaps instead of metal or buttons.

Tried the lightweight fatigue shirt. The super thin fabric made it look a little cheap, but it really is a grew weight for really hot summer days requiring a little sun protection. Cute but to detail at the sides near the hem, but I would probably end up tucking the shirt, anyway. Waiting on this one, even though it's in Sale.

Gingham ruffle hem dress was really pretty and nicely done IRL.

    1. Great reviews, Sarah! I giggled at your 'recovering gravy and clearance shopper here' bit, especially since i'm quite guilty of both.

Funny, I was in-store today and I also tried the Lightweight fatigue since I really like that sand color. Only one size left, but it was too tight on my upper arms. (I always tuck in shirts as well so the button details would've been lost on me.)

I love the fit on that Western Chambray shirt -- have one from last season, but mine doesn't have the pearl snap buttons.

    2. Here's to recovery then...salut! (No, I didn't buy the tee ;)

Just one fatigue shirt at my store, too. What did you think of the fabric/look?

I passed on the Western shirt last year, probably because it seemed too expensive. But it's very practical for me and stylish. What does yours have in place of the snaps?

    3. Re) Fatigue fabric - I preferred this thin fabric since I think that type of fabric seems to drape better sometimes. There was a similar shirt in this style offered about a year ago -- the fit on that one was so baggy and i think the stiffer fabric made it more noticeable and pronounced. (Oh, now I'm remembered that it was that 'garment-dyed' fabric.) I do love the look of this shirt! Has a nice safari vibe with the color and the two front pockets.

My Western Chambray has regular white buttons, womp womp. The snaps seem so perfect for this shirt! Sigh. When J.Crew gets things right, they really get them right. I really wish they'd get their act together (i know we all wish this.) :-(

    4. PS, i meant to add that I didn't buy any of the cute tees either! The navy sailboat one is enough for More Thoughtful Purchases Me. :-)

    5. Thanks for all the reviews, Sarah. They're really helpful. Glad that Chambray dress worked for you. It's really cute. Love your idea of wearing the Silk Peplum out for dinner on the patio. Great visual!

  33. New post up on PartialtoPink.com tonight. I'm styling the new plaid popover. J.Crew popovers/button downs run a little small on me, so I went with a 6.
