This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
Ordered the Martie Stewart plaid pants, the tie-neck dress in wool crepe, and the holly sweater in fair isle (grey colorway). I had gotten the holly sweater in stripe at the even on Sunday and was surprised how much I liked the fit when I wore it for work this week. Several items arriving in the post today, for gifts and for me. I think I'm shopped out for a while!
ReplyDeleteI found a navy leather jacket on the factory site in my size for $167 pre tax, post discount and just... had to. That's an amazing price for a leather jacket! My husband gifted me the Madewell washed leather jacket early this year, and I wear it all the time. Hoping the factory one is just as great!
ReplyDeleteOT: JCAs, can anyone help me identify the year and name of the black and white boucle jacket in this auction? It's not my size but I want to BOLO in the future.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-J-Crew-collection-black-label-boucle-tweed-jacket-6-8-M-275-/351891393346?hash=item51ee5c8b42:g:2e4AAOSw5cNYE-je
Hexicon, I was able to zoom in and read the style # and it looks like this jacket is the 'Cherie Jacket in Shimmer Tweed' (style # 55823).
DeleteThank you! I missed that in the photo.
DeleteI stopped in on Wednesday to check out some of the holiday arrivals. I still haven't found a perfect size in the festive holiday plaid - the 12 was big in the chest, the 10 fits better but it is still a little short to layer under a sweater so I'm trying a 10 Tall.
ReplyDeleteI tried on the Stewart plaid Marties and Edie top, black clip dot Edie top, Ruffle shift dress, red cable Pom-Pom sweater, black velvet cami, lace fringe tweed striped top and the mockneck sweater in Italian yarn. You can see the photos on my blog here
The Marties look gorgeous on you!
DeleteThanks for the thorough reviews as always, Anne! They're informative and helpful so I very much appreciate them.
Delete@Dmitri thank you!! @TM93 thank you, glad the reviews are helpful :)
DeleteI would love to shop today but am at home trying to finally get over bronchitis. Luckily, I can shop online. Is it me, or is there very little in the J Crew sale section? And boy, is the web site moving slowly. It's been a few weeks since I looked at the site, and I can't tell if the display on the sale section has been changed -- all the photos seem larger -- or if I am just imagining things.
ReplyDeleteReceived my order w/ the wolfstooth pants and plaid bow top. I am keeping the smaller size of the pants. They both would have worked but husband said the larger size looked a little frumpy. I love the plaid bow shoulder top but sort of wish this was just a shell with no bow. I see myself wearing a cardigan with this at least to start off and the bow underneath the cardi is sort of bulky. I can deal with it though so I will be keeping it. Both my items were successful! Yay!
ReplyDeleteWent to Lululemon to pick up gear since their Black Friday sale is fantastic. J crew is literally straight across so stopped in to see new arrivals in person. Store was really busy with a long line. SA's were very cute & festive. Saw an SA with black skinny sequin pants with an ankle zip. Pants were SO cute. Would love to find those @ some point since they don't seem to be current season,
ReplyDeleteWhat sales does Lululemon do for Black Friday? I thought they just had more stock.
DeleteIvivva (Lulu's girls' store) had a limited selection of marked down items, probably discontinued styles or colours. They opened at 7:00 a.m., and people were lined up to get in. The pants I bought were 30% off. I don't know if Lulu does something similar, but I did see people lined up at their pop-up booth at the mall, so I'm guessing they had some kind of sale.
DeleteThey had lots of tops, pants, jackets, vests &!bras on sale. Items were as much as 55% off. Groove pants were $44 and the insculpt vest I wanted was $49 in store vs. $59 online. Lots to choose from.
DeleteThanks Mygoddy!
DeleteAstoundingly fast deliveries! Suede colorblock heels with fringe arrived! Sooo cute. Sooo enormous. Going back sooo fast. But I quickly ordered replacements, 2 sizes down. High hopes.
ReplyDeleteSo we're watching the King 5 news and they're interviewing shoppers today. One lady had a J.Crew brown bag and she said she got 60% off some items! Jealous!
ReplyDeleteSeattle Washington news!
DeleteMy question is, with all the stores offering great online discounts as of Black Friday, will there be any new/different offers on "Cyber Monday", or has the concept gone by the wayside? The 40% off everything has been great, but the sale section could really use some fresh cuts.
ReplyDeleteI am guessing they will just add the free shipping on any order on Monday. It would be nice to see some fresh cuts but I am doubtful that it will happen.

ReplyDeleteHey all. Happy thanksgiving! Does anyone know if stores offered more than 40% on sales items and were cotton marties included in the 40% off. I bought the marties with 25% off when
ReplyDeleteThey were excluded online... so hoping to exchange.... thanks!!!
I am very happy to be seeing many things selling out online and in my local stores. Their recent struggles have had me worried as I am counting on them to survive in this tough environment. There is always something, and many times lots for things, for me to love in each catalog. Shopping would not be nearly as fun for me without my favorite brand!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Teacups, know exactly what you mean! I think many of us love this brand and are rooting for them to right their ship and get back on track. I, too, find many things to love, that work for my budget and that I simply can't find from other brands. Shopping definitely wouldn't be the same without them!

DeleteTotally agree - I think offering 40% off on everything including the new holiday items is a sound move in the current environment where customers have been conditioned to wait for sales. This way they can actually move holiday inventory before Christmas and won't have velvet camis languishing in the sale section in March.....and I dont have to agonize about deciding if I want to pay $88 for a velvet cami; because for $53 bucks I'll just pull the trigger.
DeleteAbsolutely! The stores are showing signs of bustle, things are selling out, and what fun to buy something you love and WEAR it instead of putting it away and hoping you'll love it next winter. What fun to smile and say "oh, thank you, it's J.Crew." And special thanks to whoever decided not to put the sequin-trimmed plaid romper into production.
DeleteYes, Teacups, I was thinking the same thing at my store yesterday! There was a positive energy among the shoppers and SAs and people were genuinely excited about a few items that feel special. The 40% certainly helped but it was more than that and I really hope it carries forward into 2017!
DeleteHi ladies! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Great promotion J Crew has going on! I wished i hadn't hesitated on some items that now I'm desperate to find: E4102 Tartan Blazer size 8 and G2130 in green sequin earnings, if anyone was lucky to order and buy and wants to give it up, I'm willing to buy full price, I have a PayPal account, please e-mail me at: Anna.lanena@gmail.com, thank-you!
ReplyDeleteHi Anna Maria, have you tried calling a store directly and asking them to do a search of all stores' inventory? If there's a store out there with it they can give you the phone number to order from them.
DeleteYou might also try a VPS. In case you don't have one (or any other JCAs for that matter), Kenneth is quite good.

Hi Jan and Mygoddy thanks for the tips but I have done both I'm on a waiting list for VPS and I know a SA through instragram and she has searched nationwide. I guess I'll just have to be patient in the hopes there's a pop back or a return. I'm hoping before Christmas! Unless someone out there will be willing to give up theirs and luck will be on my side!
DeleteGood luck, Anna Maria. Who knows? Maybe JCrew pulled items from the website and a few in your size will pop back sometime next week.
DeleteReviews of the silk ruffle button-up and the merino blazer on Gigi's Gone Shopping.
ReplyDeleteI bought the silk ruffle blouse on Friday -- with the 40% off it was too good to pass up. Very nice for the price, and even though I had to buy 2 sizes up (!) it still has a nice shape. It looks great on you, Gigi.
DeleteThanks for the review! Looks great on you Gigi... I bought the black and waiting for it to arrive, now I want the baby blue one... but sold out... let you all know about the fit once i get it....
DeleteThanks for the review Gigi. Saved me from having to send this one back. I either absolutely adore ruffles or despise them. These I loathe for some reason or another.
