This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
When did final sale come back? I haven't been looking at the sale page for a few days. Sad trombone!
ReplyDeleteI know! I've had a couple of items sitting in my cart, waiting for a free ship promo, and now they're final sale. No thanks.
DeleteMe, too. Just deleted everything. No final sale for me.
DeleteHi, guys, shopalot and cobalt, may I ask, as one who doesn't discuss shopping anymore with friends - for lots of reasons, but mainly because my friends here and now are still working and I'm retired - we have different closets now. Are you not buying final sale because of the no return policy?
DeleteIn my case, yes. There's no JC store in my area where I can see items IRL or try them on, and sizing and quality have been so inconsistent in recent years that online orders now often don't work out as I'd hoped. I'll occasionally order inexpensive basics (eg, $10 tees) on final sale but I've made too many FS mistakes and wasted too much $ on more adventurous items.
DeleteThanks, cobalt, I'm getting the hang of this blog stuff, and I like it! I know what you mean about the inconsistencies, I used to tell my PS at the store in VA to just ship 4 or 5 suits to try on at home, and never had to worry about size. (What's "FS"?)
DeleteI'll break the silence. I've purchased a number of things this week, including the Sloan suede flats in festive green (up 1/2 size because of the pointed toe) and the stripe Gemmas (tts for me). They're an addtl 60% off. Another good deal is the Tippi. Remember that J. Crew colors from past years mix with the new. They're good over printed buttondowns you might have. I'm excited about the tortoise & pearl bracelet and new rhinestone squares bracelet which is already on sale. It was in the June rollout.
ReplyDeleteWe're upset. We're tired. We're frustrated. We're confused. We could be talking about J. Crew, but we're not. (weakest knee slap ever). For the first time ever, I went political on Gigi's Gone Shopping. You're invited to join in here.
Hmmm, your link is not working, Gigi.
DeleteI think this is the correct link. I hope I got it right.
DeleteHi maryeb - Yes, I didn't link properly. Thank you for taking the time to re-post it for me! #puffyhearts :)
DeleteI am hopefully going to the clearance store tomorrow. Not 100% sure yet. If I do, I will report back. I remember some of the items you ladies are looking for and I will keep them in mind as I am looking. I know there are a few shoes that people are looking for. Love to my J.Crew sisters, especially Gigi!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Doodle Dachshund. Hope you have fun tomorrow. :)
DeleteYou are so lucky! I hope you find some treasures. :)
DeleteWhen your husband insists on going to the clearance store and you have 15 minutes...rust clip dot midi, teddie seersucker pants, white and poppy eyelet leather flat sandals, khaki shorts, white belted midi skirt and the pink gingham linen trousers. All of this without trying anything on but it all fit! Pants were $15.00 today and everything else was 25% off already low prices. I spent a little over $100.00.
DeleteWow, what a haul. You are an amazing shopper to find all those pretties with a hubby in tow.
DeleteWow! Good for you to shop this fast:)
Delete@DD, you're definitely a professional!! Great buys! I picked up those pink gingham pants too & love them.
DeleteDD, can you comment on the teddie seersucker pants? The reviews online indicate that they are running small compared to the solid cotton teddies - would you say that as well?
DeleteI got my usual size and they are fine. I had read the same thing but I think TTS.
DeleteReviews of some of the new arrivas on my IG:
ReplyDelete-the second edition of the ruffle sleeve tee (so much more wearable this time)
-carrie. Cami in tropical floral
-ruffle dress in tropical floral
-gemma cap tow flats
-sadie flats
-flutter hem dress
Thanks for the reviews @InaMack. I suspected that flutter hem dress would be hard for me to pull off when I saw it on the model. I do like the plaid, though.
DeleteThe Sadie flats are so cute. Love the Tropical floral print a lot.
@Ina, thank you! Love the tropical print but wish it came in other items. The pieces look great on you. :)
DeleteI saw the tropical print in a scarf and shorts today. I wasn't enamoured by any if the items (shorts and scarf were more muted). The Carrie Cami is cute, but the quality on that one is terrible as of late. The roll hem in the front is literally stitched with one tiny piece of thread. You can see the hole where it's stitched (more noticeable on the lighter, solid colors) and it's also not very durable.
Delete@jan @maryeb Glad it is helpful
ReplyDeleteSo excited about the big rollout the week of the 18th!!!
me too ! Carolyn From Vancouver
DeleteSame here. My favorite season from JCrew!
DeleteDoes anyone have an advance copy of the Style Guide? Excited to see what will be released....
I cant post pics, but i shared my highlights on my IG
DeleteThanks for sharing the highlights @inaMack. Looking forward to seeing the new catalogue and roll-out!!
DeleteThanks for posting try-ons, Ina!
DeleteI received my orders today. Absolutely love the full length French blue linen pants. They're slightly wide leg & fit tts in an 8. The color is fantastic & the quality is good. Also received stripe bow tie top; this is really cute & looked great with the persimmon gazebo pants I picked up at the clearance store. The metallic gold gladiator sandals are a surprise find; wish they were not quite as high. Would've been better IMO if they were just a single strap & cut lower. Would not have paid anything close to full price but for < $35, I'll keep them. Will work great with maxis & wide leg linen pants. Collection suede patio pants in camel have shipped so hope they work out too; this is a 3 season item for me & current price is really nice for a collection item @ 75% off. Picked up ivory Tippi; fit is tts & is a good neutral. Tippis are a great buy right now; good time to pick them up for fall/winter with additional 60% off. I'm a sucker for linen & stripe long sleeve navy/white top is a really nice top for $12; works well alone or as a layer. A slight vent - the strap for the ribbon on my beloved Elise bow tie stripe heels came apart. Fortunately, I was able to locate another pair; hoping this pair will hold up better. Going to return the defective ones tomorrow & will try the stripe Gemma flats that I have on hold. @ 60% off & $44 net, I'm going to give them a try & see if they work.
ReplyDeleteI ordered some basic tees: garment dyed in white and painter long sleeve in solid. Black and white. Reordered the downtown field jacket in black. XS is a little tight across the back (a previous year's version fits). I tried the small and XS tall. This item is NOT final sale and I love my old one. (It may end up that the XS works best but I may as well try the others.
ReplyDeleteBought the Tippi striped sweater with shoulder buttons and washed it a couple days ago... The fabric has kinks and snags in it already! I'm not quite sure what to do, as I've already reached out to my local store and called the main customer service line and both have been unhelpful. What a disappointment.
ReplyDeleteOff topic, but if any Seattle/Northwest JCAs visited the University Village store a few years ago, Karlyn, the VPS, is featured in an article in the NY Times about Redfin: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/10/technology/a-start-up-shies-away-from-the-gig-economy.html
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see her shining!
Great article, fidele. I deal with the 1099 issue quite a bit. Many actors have been convinced to stay non-union (1099) and not insist on working union (benefits, retirement). I appreciate Redfin for recognizing the value of sharing the wealth thru benefits and the opportunity for bonuses.
Deletehere's hoping someone can get their hands on the new style guide for August and give up some sneak peeks.. I am in Canada and sometimes we don't even get one.
ReplyDeleteanyone know any details...Ina posted a few of what she thinks the highlights are.her IG..but she works at Jcrew so she can't post actual pics ahead of release...darn
I hope the August catalog is as interesting as some of the past August catalogs. The catalogs have been rather boring for awhile now.
ReplyDeleteSo I went to the store to return an online purchase, and got a 15% off coupon for any store purchase which can be stacked with the in-store 50% sale. SA said this is an incentive to encourage foot traffic to B&M stores. Coupon is good till end of year.
ReplyDeleteI received one of these coupons last weekend when I made a return but was told if was good on full price merchandise only. Again with the inconsistency! I was told good till end of year as well.
DeleteI just returned an online purchase in store and did not receive a 15% off coupon!
DeleteGot one too yesterday upon returning an online purchase at the store. Was told stackable with other % discount.
DeleteMygoddy is posting pics of the new catalog on her Instagram.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gigi and Mygoddy-for posting the style guide!
Delete@JSR & Unknown, you're welcome! Took a break but everything's up now. Thanks Gigi for letting the JCA's know.
DeleteThanks Mygoddy!
Deletethere's a few things i have my eye on! :)
@mygoddy, thank you so much for posting pics! I love the scenery of this style guide. Heading to a b&m today so need to try to avoid buying things before this rollout. :)
DeleteWhat a nice treat!! Thanks a lot @mygoddy and @Gigi.
DeleteIt's a very colorful guide with some nice styling ideas. Love, love the shoes. Can't wait to see the charm bracelet in person.
Thanks for letting us know, Gigi! Thanks, mygoddy, for posting all of that, it is fun to see and I see lots I like!
DeleteThanks for the pics. Cautiously optimistic, especially about the shoes.
DeleteBut when will the tyranny of cropped pants end? They are unflattering to all but the tallest and thinnest among us.
Thanks so much for the pictures! I want that charm bracelet and those Avery mid-heel shoes. And a few other things!
DeleteOH..thank you for the heads up Gigi..and a big thanks to Mygoody.
ReplyDeleteThanks mygoddy! Budget is in trouble for this fall!
DeleteYou're welcome! There's definitely some stuff to create wallet trouble!
DeleteYes, thanks! The models are fresh and happy looking, it makes everything look more appealing.
DeleteSaw a bunch of the graphic dot one piece swimsuits (style 25021) at my local TJ Maxx today for $59.99 a piece
ReplyDeleteSALETIME ends tonite, Sun. If you've been looking at the cross-back vintage plaid sundress, it nets $52.80 w/SALETIME. Here's the review.
