This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)

Hello! I bought the Gemma daisy flats, gingham bucket bag, and new Italian-made Cece in Rustic Mint. I am super glad J. Crew is going back to classics and quality. It was a little rough for a few years.
ReplyDeleteI'm styling the Factory white straight & narrow jeans and Factory nude strappy sandals on the blog. Both run TTS. I scooped up a second pair of sandals this weekend with their current promotion, because I love them so much.

I'm having good luck with Factory tees this summer, esp. the garment-dyed crewneck (which is more of a scoopneck on me). 100% cotton, TTS, lightweight but not see-thru, and holding up well after multiple washes/wears. Colors in the clearance section are under $10 with the happysale promo.
ReplyDeleteCobalt, you reminded me that when I went to the clearance store last week, I bought three tee-shirts: two in white (one tissue tee, the other vintage wash) and one in cobalt. All are wonderful, and I picked up a Madewell more formal tee as well.
DeleteI finally found the white clip dot midi in my size today, on sale less 50% off. One store that I called said that if it wasn't showing online that meant no store had it because the online inventory was more up to date than the store inventory. That is Bologna...I told her that I had found things many times that were showing sold out on the website. Proved them wrong again today, my skirt will be shipping from Florida in a couple of days thanks to the awesome SA at the Rockefeller Center store who looked it up, called the store and made sure they had it and put it on hold for me.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found it, DD! I absolutely love mine. :) hope Jcrew makes more of these.
DeleteI love the staff at Rock Center!
DeleteDoodle Daschund that's exactly why I call my local store and have them do an item locator for me. I have way better luck finding items that way then waking up at 3:30 in the morning with no luck!
DeleteCongratulations on your finds!

DeleteFinally got my Boardwalk lace up sandals from Madewell. I ordered all three colors and love them. They need to be tied tightly around the feet but they're pretty comfortable to walk in and I really like the look. I can take 8.5 or 9 in shoes and in these (and lately, most Jcrew shoes) the 8.5 works better.
ReplyDeleteI have these too and they are surprisingly not uncomfortable. My feet are sliding around, though, because I'm reluctant to tie them tightly because I don't want them binding on my ankles. Maybe I need to fiddle with the tying a bit?
DeleteI think so. I find if they're not tight enough around the feet it's difficult to walk as it feels like the sole is falling off. I have other sandals that can't be tightened and have this issue.
DeleteI ordered the Bridgit Lace Up Sandal and love them. I have no issues with the laces staying tied or the sole slipping. These have a back zip in addition to the lace up and I think this really helps them stay on. They are surprisingly comfortable, too, considering they lace up. Very happy with these shoes, especially on sale.
DeleteBeverly, did you buy in store or online? They don't seem to be on sale online.
DeleteI bought them online two weeks ago. They were on sale with an extra 30% off, netting $66. I see now they are back to full price. They were on sale last night. The price must have jumped overnight.
DeleteYes, same with the boardwalk lace up sandals!
DeleteOT: Just got a confusing email. "In Store Only Shop New Arrivals First". I don't see any date. Are new arrivals in stores now? I thought the roll-out was next week.
ReplyDeleteMe too, maryeb. I got the same confusing email. I clicked on the link hoping for more information--date for new arrivals, is this first of fall rollout or the last gasp of summer? Nothing. Just a list of various stores in my area. I came here hoping someone else could tell me what this is about.
DeleteThere is a small rollout this week and the big one for July is the week of the 18th.
DeleteHTH
Thanks, @inaMsck. I saw a photo of one item on your IG. Have you seen any other new items in your store?
DeleteI received this email as well. Very confusing.
Delete@maryeb i havent been sine the weekend,so no.
DeleteI will try to do some reviews tomorrow.
Ahhhh, I hope you had a lovely, relaxing weekend.
DeleteNo worries about the reviews. I was just curious about what you saw in your store, since my store hasn't gotten anything new.
I just looked through the new arrivals and I think they have added a few. There are cute suede Gemmas with contrast trim in three colors: blue, rust and a rose pink that I haven't seen before.
DeleteThere's also a new Gemma cap-toe in black (navy?) and white, def on my have-to-have list (as opposed to my wishlist)
DeleteJust called my local store. They didn't seem to know anything about the email. Said they were expecting a shipment with a few items, but it hadn't arrived yet.
ReplyDeleteGot the same confusing email. :(
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I'm wondering if any Canadians recently had their orders shipped thru DHL - how fast did your package arrive?
DHL...2-3 days. fantastic. for the extra $2 I was pleased

ReplyDeleteGarden short in linen, black: both my smaller and larger size fit, but I like the wider a-line flare of the thighs on the larger size. I do find many shorts are too tight in the thighs. (Due to proportions, not because I have such big thighs!) These shorts have a clean line and with the higher fitted waist and the wider leg, a flattering, retro look. Love them and such a great price. I was tempted to get white also but I most often reach for black.
ReplyDeleteEyelet floral mini skirt, black: I got the Madewell eyelet skirt and LOVE it, but when this went on sale in black I decided to try it too. The smaller of my two sizes is a tiny bit big, but not enough to size down. Fit is very flattering and the floral eyelet is feminine, but not so much that I'm out of my comfort zone. Length is modest for a mini. This is a much lighter weight than the Madewell eyelet (which I've already worn several times in two weeks). This one loses points for not having pockets but the shape wouldn't really allow them.
Tiered crepe top, black: I own enough sleeveless black tops for an army but I've been eyeing this one and didn't want to buy final sale. I like the more cut out shoulders, and I tried it on with the lower tier tucked in, which made the higher tier flare out nicely, like a crop top without exposing my belly. My regular size fit. The issue for me is taking the top off.
Madewell denim zip coveralls: I'm learning when a Madewell garment says fit is true to size it actually runs a little slim. I ordered a small and couldn't go any smaller. (I'm usually a 00/0). It's super cute and comfortable. I can imagine throwing this on to hang out on a spring or cool summer night. It's cute with ballet flats or sandals or dressed up. Just not sure if the look is too young or too "mechanic."
