WEEKEND Is Here {J.Crew's latest promo that is}

A big "thanks!" to many of you, including wellfedfred (in this post), who let us know the following.

J.Crew is offering customers 30% off select full priced items and all sale with promo code WEEKEND. This promotion expires May 27, 2014. The fine print includes:

Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. To redeem, enter code WEEKEND in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promotional code per order. Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offer are subject to change.

**Offer only valid on purchases of sale items marked "30% off with code WEEKEND" in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from May 25, 2014, 12:01am ET through May 27, 2014, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in Liquor Store or Ludlow Shops; in 769 Madison Avenue, Bloor Street or J.Crew Factory stores; at jcrewfactory.com; or on phone orders. When we first heard about this (refer to the "Starting Sunday: 30% Off Site-Wide at J.Crew {and ..." post) it seemed like this promotion would be site wide. Not sure why J.Crew decided select full priced merchandise was the way to go.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you interested in getting? Please share! :)

  1. I did place an order on a variety of popovers and none were final sale so I can choose what to keep.. Also trying the Panama Hat which did not ring up 30% off but CS did adjust the price for me. Wondering why I was charged $8 shipping, it was waived bc my order was >$300 but I thought flat rate shipping was $5????

    1. I called CS and asked about shipping costs b/c I'm trying to get a sweater before Saturday. She told me $5 shipping is 6 to 8 business days, $8 shipping is 3 to 6 business days.

  2. No - won't be taking advantage of it, despite being excited too by getting the things that I had waiting in my cart for this promo...None of them were included on this promotion since Jcrew decided to go with "selected" full price items.

  3. Why are some items that have the additional 30% promo listed not have the reduction when I apply it at checkout?Like the cotton drawstring pants in cove floral?! How annoying.

  4. I'm having the same problem Pamela. All 4 items say they qualify for the promo, but when I apply it in my cart, only 1 is applying at checkout! Annoying!!

  5. I am having the same issue with the patch pocket shirt in stretch cotton. Clearly says 30% off with code but it's not being applied at register.

  6. Well, that was misleading! I thought it was SITE WIDE! I'm going to the store today to get a price adjustment and I'm going to try to get a price adjustment on the panama hat I bought last week!

  7. The items that I have been spying on were included in this promo, but I had the same problem with the promo code not working. I placed the order and called customer service right afterwards. They helped me correct the prices right away. They said that they are having issues with the promo code.

if you really want something, just place the order and call CS! The items I wanted all were "only a few left", so I felt like I had to act fast.

  8. I had the same problem. I just called CS and they put through the order with the adjustments. I bit on the chambray tunic, gilded brocade shorts and the stripped muscle tee.

  9. Kind of disappointed that this isn't site wide, BUT two of the items on my wish list were added to the promo: the scattered floral dress in neon blush and silk cami in fuchsia. The WEEKEND code was not working so I called CS and they said they were having problems with the code so they adjusted the price for me after I placed the order.

While I was on the phone with CS I mentioned not being able to see the reviews on my laptop and I knew it was an issue with others (I didn't mention JCA blog as that usually gets an odd reaction from J Crew staff. Ha!) as well. She said that she had not heard this issue before but was going to file a report with the tech team to inquire on my behalf.

I went to the North Ave store in Chicago yesterday. I haven't been going to B&M retail stores regularly. I was getting SO sick of the same old stuff in the sales section. There were a few new items on sale (new for me anyway), including the patio skirt in photo floral (have it, love it) and No 2 pencil skirt in color block stripe (like the skirt, but it fit oddly on me, which is weird since I have a gazillion No 2 pencil skirts). Neither skirt is sale online. Sale stuff was 40% off. I also tried the cove floral drawstring pant. I quite liked them. I found they fit TTS on me. I know others have reported that they run one size small. I am going to wait for them to go on sale. They seem to still have a full size run online.

  10. I was disappointed too - the items I had in my cart are excluded. Wish J. Crew would have made the promo side wide... Guess I'll be waiting it out.

  11. Just chatted with CS. "We are aware that WEEKEND is not working on all eligible items and apologize for the inconvenience. You may place your order online and email the order number to contactus@jcrew.com. We will happily reimburse you the difference. We are working to have it fixed as soon as possible. We hope no later than noon."

    1. Maybe I'm just simple or something....but don't you all think that they would do a test from someone's computer to see if the discount code actually works? Lesson learned, J. Crew?

  12. Promo didn't work, but the majority of the things I wanted to purchase were excluded anyway.

  13. The promo didn't work for me either on other things I tried to buy that are supposed to be eligible for the 30% off. What a mess Jcrew!

  14. I have 14 items sitting in my basket and not one is on promo. Should be labelled "A few selected items."

  15. I probably drank too much wine yesterday night but how do you see what's included and what's not? In particular the cove florsl drawstring pants (I don't see it anywhere)

    1. I'm interested in those pants too after seeing them on Ina. Hope they get things fixed!

  16. This would be great but the code doesn't work on items even if it says on the product description page that it's included with the promo. Very frustrating and disappointing.

  17. OT - I reviewed 3 Factory dresses in this post, incl the online only embroidered chambray dress.

As of yesterday, the Factory stores are doing an addtl 10% off your purchase. I onl bought 2 things, but it was pretty awesome to get 50% off + the 10%. Details & another in-store promo in the post.

  18. Anyone else not getting free shipping on swim items? Grr.

  19. The code is working for me too now.
I went to the store too this morning. Got the chevron maxi dress in the white. No promo, but the price was not too punitive and I live in Maxi dresses once the summer arrives so I didn't want to wait for a sale this time. Word of caution though - I am a 4-6 usually and
I walked out with a size 2 that fits but is still giving me lots of room. You may need to size down. I would write a review on their website itself but...I can't even see reviews anymore, much less write one - lol.

  20. JCA's I need advice! I want to order a sweater but I need it for next weekend. I'm not paying like $20 for overnight shipping!! And the other 2 shipping options ($5 & $8) only guarantee arrival between 3 to 6 business days. Any advice on how to get the sweater before next Saturday w/o paying exorbitant shipping?? I called CS and did not get a friendly rep willing to waive shipping. Blah.

    1. and my local b&m doesn't have the sweater.

    2. I would try going to back to your local store and see if they can place a charge send and waive the shipping. You have to consider Monday is a holiday which is really going to cut into your transit time.

    3. I agree with pathos, if you know someone at the store who can place the order directly for you you can ask to overnight ship it at no charge. I also noticed that things ship faster when the order is placed from.a store. HTH!

  21. The denim shorts with the laser dots aren't on the promo, but I was at the B&M to make a return and all shorts were 30% off. They even stacked it with student discount... Occasionally Jcrew comes through.

    1. Can you give some details about the shorts? How is the sizing? Thanks.

    2. I took my normal four/27 in the shorts. They are a slightly relaxed fit, especially if you unroll the cuffs so they are only cuffed once which takes the inseam to about 4.5" which I found flattering (I'm 5'7"). I have bigger hips and a small waist so I did experience some slight gapping in the back, but less than I get in other shorts and nothing that can't be fixed easily. I didn't try a 2 on and am pretty sure even if they fit it would have taken away from the "look" of the shorts.

The laser dot print is relatively subtle but I like it as a little edgy touch without having any major rips or holes.

  22. Does anyone have a review of the equestrian midheel sandals? Do they run true to size? I wear size 8 in the Valentinas and Everly pumps, but wear 7.5 with the flat shoes.

  23. Point Sur Hightower jeans... Canadian website list the tall sizes as $53.60 but regular sizes as $198. Ordered some tall, will see if they ship. Assuming this is an error. Has been like it all day...

  29. Free shipping and 30% off is like the on-line black hole; it keeps sucking me in. Two orders in two days, mmmuust fight baaack.

    Seems that resistance is futile.
