Some of the coats look interesting, but the rest is like, more dropped shoulders (ugh), more drapey/slouchy poly-looking pants, more tee/sweatshirts with words on them. Not so much a dig at MW but I'm sure this is what all other retailers are going to be doing as well. Yeah, let's not look to the fall too quickly yet.

ReplyDeleteWill be going to make some returns and of course checking out the sales section. A bit off topic but I noticed that J Crew is now updating items at random times. I had a sold out item in my shopping cart. It was still showing up as sold out at around 10:15 pm then when I randomly looked at 10:30 pm it was in stock along with a few other sizes. I checked another sold out dress that was still sold out just earlier that day and sure enough there a handful of sizes online. It didn't seem that the sales section was updated so didn't seem to be a global web update but could still be worth checking for that item you really really want after the early AM update. As if I didn't waste enough time on JC website. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI've been noticing the same thing, too. I usually had to wake up 4 AM PST, to check on out of stock items; now stock is replenished at random times throughout the day-kind of hard to predict the time it happens.

I think so - this is why some orders don't give you the option to cancel within 60 minutes of placing it. If one or more of the items is going to be shipped from a store, it immediately goes from "Submitted" to "Released".
DeleteMore insane pop-backs this morning. I tried to restrain myself to no avail. I'll be heading to my local B&M to make some returns and hopefully NOT pick up anything else.

DeleteI received an order with two extreme pop backs and they both had unusual tags -- with US/UK sizing on the tags. The third non pop back item had a regular tag. Wondering where these are being shipped back from!?

DeleteI'm stopping in today to do a return (the embroidered chambray scarf.....it's pretty, but rather thicker than I normally wear. It looks just like the picture in the catalog. That's just too much fabric around my neck). I also received the Tassel Trim earrings! LOVE! Curious to see if any other new things have arrived.

DeleteI popped into the Rockefeller and Columbus Circle locations during lunch and managed to snag the last Photo Floral dress! 40% off and then they stacked the student discount. What luck that it was in my size! Almost grabbed a Schoolboy Blazer in black as well.

DeleteWhile doing my return I spotted the Mixed Prints Tee (07951). It's gorgeous! It's not made of regular tee-shirt cotton. It's a thicker, but fine weave cotton with a sort of soft slick feel....not slick in a bad way though...hee! I sized up to a Medium from XS/small (my normal) size because it's got a smaller arm sleeve hole and over all is cut on the smaller size. The gals at the store said it was very popular. I suggest checking it out quick!!! I also picked up a pair of earrings on clearance. Don't know what they were called but the have deep green square stone
ReplyDeleteat the ear with a big multi-stone encrusted fabric piece hanging from them. The color are gorgeous for summer...green, blues, turquoise. I got them for $53.00...I think they were $118 or $128.00...I'm going to wear them today with my J. Crew linen shirt from a few summers ago in the soft turquoise color and white jeans. Happy Shopping!!!!
Anyone know how much the factory printed pull on shorts are in the store? I found the Florida pink ones finally, but across the country.

ReplyDeleteThese shirts TOTALLY remind me of that whole "Frankie Say Relax" phase from the 80's! That's why I just can't get into these shirts. As they say, if you wore it when it first was around, you shouldn't wear it when it comes back around a second time!

DeleteThese shirts totally remind me of PINK. I tried both them on yesterday including the sweatshirt. Not a huge fan of them, but did like the cotton one to lounge in or workout in. It seemed kind of wide on me, but hey, that's great for workouts!
DeleteGuilty! I wore the Relax tee AND I even saw Frankie Goes to Hollywood in concert in San Francisco. I was young but still managed to get into the show. My Oui mon cheri sweatshirts have shipped and I look forward to wearing them!

DeleteDoes anyone have any experience with returning J.Crew online purchases after 60 days? The items are brand new. I was shocked to find out that my local UPS had an unsent package for a year. Too late?

ReplyDeleteIT-ihme - The stores don't usually know the promos in advance. Sometimes they will get an email ahead of time, but corporate usually sends the info the day before. Or sometimes mid-day and promos will change on the spot. Hopefully the addtl 40% will still be going in-store when you arrive. Have fun :)
