Surprise! J.Crew Sends Their ...Apologies?!?

"Thanks!" to many of you, including ajr (in this post), as well as Katherine (in this post), who shared the following delightful surprise/ news with us:
Did anyone receive the $50 giftcard for shipping issues at the holiday? It seems too good to be true! ...
Also "thanks!" to Beach Chic Girl (in this post), who also shared:
Hi. I received mine yesterday. It was nicely packaged and included an apology note and a 2014 day planner. I was surprised as I don't even recall having shipping issues during the holidays. I thought it was my rewards card at first.
So how do some customers get these apology-gifts? No clue. Honestly. No clue. However, it is a lovely and thoughtful way of saying sorry to those customers.

So check your mailbox in the next few days to see if you got something extra special from J.Crew that says "sorry, hope we are still cool". :)

  1. Hmmm, at least these individuals eventual received their items. I had 2 orders over the holidays where I received completely wrong items. Instead of my Andie pants I received a men's XL flannel shirt and instead of a pair of Cece's I got a bottle of nail polish (WTH)!! And of course both items ended up selling out in my size/color before I got a chance to replace them. Frustrating!!

  3. Speaking of rewards cards . . . where are they? Compared to other quarters they are at least two weeks late, so we'll have less than a month to spend them. (

    1. If you call customer service, they should be able to look it up and let you use it.

  4. I received it via email -- no day planner. And my package wasn't "that" late -- I still received it before Christmas, but not before the pre-Christmas party I needed it for. Well done J.Crew.

  5. I received the gift card and planner. Also included was a very lovely note apologizing for the delayed delivery of my order. I very much appreciate this... even though I continue to spend so much money with JCrew, especially with all of the amazing sales they have been having. I really need to get this under control and the gift card does not help this... :)

  6. If JC is sending out a bunch of $50 GC's, that may have something to do with the lack of promo this week.

    1. silver_lining - Ooh, good call. That's a possibility. I was also thinking maybe they're giving promos a break to see what happens this week. But, surely there will be one coming for Presidents Day.

  7. Didn't receive anything. At all. And to tell you the truth, I don't seem to be getting rewards cards anymore either, though I've spend a good deal at J Crew.

I'm thinking of not using my J Crew card anymore unless there's a specific reason to do so (like an additional 5% off during a promotion). My husband would rather I used our mileage card instead, but I've told him that I get 'benefits' from the J Crew Card. Well, those benefits are drying up.

  8. I received mine today. The note was hand-written from a VPS. I don't use the online VPS so I feel it was also a solicitation to use one. It came in a nice black JC gift box and even the delivery box wasn't normal. It was cardboard but the inside was also black/dark gray. Nice gesture and I'll hold on to it for promo time.
