Today Only: Free Shipping at Factory (Plus, 30% off new arrivals)

"Thanks!" to  many of you, who shared the following promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew Factory is offering free shipping (no min!) and 30% off new arrivals with promotional code NEWNOW. The free shipping offer expires tonight, while the percent off expires November 3, 2013.
Once again, there are a lot of items that are replicas of the previous offerings from retail J.Crew. If you missed out on an item the first time around, chances are you will be able to find it at Factory. :)
Personally, I find the sweaters at Factory to be more comfortable, and a wee bit longer, than the retail versions. So I can't wait to check out the factory versions of retail! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any new arrivals you are interested in getting? If so, please share!

  1. I went to the Crewlet today! Almost everything was 40% off, including 40% off jewelry & an addtl 40% off sale items. Select colors of the toothpick & matchstick cords (vibrant berry on the matchstick) were $29.97 + 40%.

Whoever wanted to know about the Factory peacoat, thumbs up. TTS. Click here for a quick pic.

Will have tons of Factory reviews coming soon. Lots of favorites & the prices are just way more palatable than many of the more interesting pieces retail has right now.

  2. Glad to see the suckered plaid shirt get a second life at Factory. Also glad to see it's alpha and not number sized - that's another thing I like about JCF. Often I have a hard time deciding between 4 and 6 and retail, but at Factory I can just get an S, end of story.

Factory's prices are just much more reasonable, and the overall quality at retail has seemed to dip so much that Factory looks nicer by comparison.

  3. I got some items, like the suckered plaid shirt, plaid flannel pjs, and shearling slippers.

    1. reaganflowers - I reviewd the Crewlet quilted in this post. I have a side-by-side comparison to retail as well.

    2. I tried it in my usual size M and it didn't fit me right. The next size down S was tight when I zipped it so that was a dealbreaker, but the M was too much volume through the shoulders and upper arms. I could have made it work, but since I don't need one more coat I need to really love it. I loved the blue color but since the fit was off I returned it.

  5. This is OT but I just rec'd my items from JC (retail not Factory) from the 30% sale. I think it took 9-10 days- forever! They seem to have had it 3 days b4 processeng it.

My order came in 2 shipments. It looks like my necklace tee came from a Retail Store from NY according to the shipping address. My other items were from the warehouse. This is the first time this has happened. Someone mention in a different thread that they were going to start shipping from stores like Gap. Perhaps it has already started?

My shirt also had tags like the store but the price was ripped off. The item did not appear shop worn so that was lucky. It's a lil' annoying to get so many packages for your orders from Gap.

    1. This switch-over may be just the thing taking place that caused many JCA's delay in receiving their orders?? I know mine took forever (had to call on a couple orders) from both retail and factory. I will say, when they finally showed, they were not from retail stores. So not sure what the deal was and the CS rep didn't have any legit excuse or really offer any words of apology (which I thought was really strange. She acted like it was normal.) But it is the longest I've ever had to wait for my orders...well, perhaps it was longer during the web crash;)

  6. Does anyone have a review for the Factory Waffle Henley or the Addie Loafers (are they any different from the Darbys?)
    Thanks!

    1. Laura, I just ordered the Addie Loafers in the navy blue color. I think they're going to be extremely similar to the Darby loafers. I'll report when I get them.

  7. Has anyone tried the Factory Patch Pocket Popover? I am wondering how different it is from the retail Collection Cashmere Pocket Sweater. The Factory version is Viscose/nylon/merino wool (hand wash). $298 (-25% off) vs. $49.50. I'd love to hear from anyone who has seen the Factory version in person.

    1. I ordered it, but had to return it. The sweater had a very chemical smell. I got the medium and it was nice and loose. Sorry, this probably doesn't help much.

    2. A chemical smell, yuck! That isn't good. Thanks, I'm glad you posted that.
