Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. Hi Suisui - two days ago I saw what I think it was the Nolita jacket in indigo in the Tysons store (VA) on the sale rack. Not sure about the sizes though, but worth a call. Good luck!

    2. Pretty sure I saw a few indigo ones at The Shops at Nanuet today (NY). Only problem is it's a new mall so their phone number is not yet listed on the JCrew website and I can't seem to find it elsewhere.. :(

    3. Thanks so much, ladies! I'll call first thing in the morning!

    4. The downtown Portland J.Crew had a bunch of Nolita's in indigo on sale today. I didn't check sizes bc I already have that jacket but I wouldn't be surprised if they have an XS.

  4. Visited yesterday- 40% off final sale, 25% button down shirts, $59.50 Tippis, 25% denim, 25% boots. Finally stocked up on basics that have been missing from my wardrobe :-).

  5. I might, just to see some new arrivals in person. I doubt I'll buy anything though.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yes, went to factory yesterday and will go to B&M today ... can't resist seeing the new arrivals and 40-50% off.

I've been so obsessed with finding a "leather this" and a "bejeweled that" at the Crew lately that I actually NEED to replace some basics. And I don't use the word NEED very often when I go into my closet!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I went yesterday and left empty-handed. There was an OK sale section that was an extra 40% off, and a 25% off promo on select items.

    ReplyDelete
  8. 25% off everything in store, plus 20% off sale (stacks).

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. shopwithm - I'm not clear. The sale is now 20% off instead of 40% off in-store?

      Delete
    2. Hi Gigi - yeah, they changed it in-store this morning. I was there when they were changing the signage so now it's 20% off sale...the rationale behind that is that with the stacking the sale stuff will still be 40% off. (*eyeroll*)

      Delete
    3. PS- The InStyle discount can't be applied any longer since there is a store- wide promo going on.

      Delete
    4. Thanks for the heads up. I'm happy that it's not more of a discount than the order I placed with the InStyle code.

      Delete
    5. Sorry Gigi, that was totally confusing how I wrote that. Not sure why they didn't just say 40, lol.

      Delete
    6. Laaaaaaaaaame. Don't get me wrong. I'm happy to see promos. I just don't understand how they can track which promos are successful, why & how if they run them concurrently. Don't they care how well the Instyle performs? They won't know since they rolled out the same promo sans coupon.

      Delete
    7. It seemed like that INSTYLE25 promo wasn't supposed to be widely advertised. I don't think they wanted more than their intended demographic to use it, so if they made more sales with it than they intended, it may have screwed up their target numbers somehow. Just guessing. Otherwise why wouldn't they have just put it up on the web site for all to see and use?

      Delete
    8. I think it was just getting too messy at the register between the 25% off and the 40%. I am pretty sure they don't want the 40% off to be stacked with the 25% and they reduced the discount on sale items so that customers in store get the same discount than online customers. If they were really thinking that only the InStyle subscribers would show the email it really means that they are still in the rock age concerning social media. There cant't be any secret promo in the age of Twitter.

I also will try to get some new arrival pics up asap!

  12. If you're shopping in-store, check out the In-Store Price Guide. Oct notes in red.

  13. I heard the Tippi is on promo for 59.50. Would the 25% be applicable on that?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. PerfectFit - When they apply a global promo like the 25%, it should be automatically taken off of things on promo. The Tippi was $59.50 yesterday. There is a chance they have taken it off today in light of the 25% off. And of course, it could still be on promo.

    1. I have one that is item # 01042 which I think is more a light blue and navy...it's an XS and doesn't work for me at all. It has a zipper issue...the bottom zipper won't unclasp (it seems to be a crooked tooth)..so it is always closed if that makes sense. It was final sale and even though it was defective..they wouldn't take it back. I was going to take it to goodwill...but it is yours if you want it...no charge. I am sure a tailor could fix the zipper or maybe you could even do it yourself. I never planned to wear it so didn't bother.

      Delete
    2. What? I can't believe they wouldn't take it back. I am pretty sure their return policy states that any defective item can be returned. Anyway I can understand that the brain damage may not be worth it. Very nice of you to offer it to someone.

  26. (Way OTT, but I don't know where to post this...) Has anyone washed a number 2 double-serge cotton pencil skirt? I have several from 2012 and 2013; labels say "dry clean". Most of them (in different solid colors, garden floral; with and without lining) are cotton with 4-5% spandex. One (navy-white stripe, lined) is 52% linen, 48% cotton. Thanks in advance!

    1. I have. Wash in COLD water. Delicate Cycle. Do not put in dryer. air dry flat if you can. Helfpul hint. If wrinkles--iron as soon as you take it out of the washing machine. then let dry. I iron all shirts and other items wet, then let air dry and they turn out great. Hope this helps a bit.

    2. Thanks Catherine! That should save me a small fortune on dry cleaning... And I like your tip about ironing things while wet, I'll give it a try.

    3. I've washed cotton no. 2 pencil skirts in the machine - just as Catherine says, cold, delicate cycle, no dryer.

They've turned out great - even the lined ones!

  28. visited Factory today to take advantage of the 50% off throughout the entire store. Ended up purchasing the Jewel-Collar Oxford Sleeveless shell in blue. The blue looked better than the white. I like the fact that the sleeveless shirt will look very good with a cardigan and won't get too "bunchy" in the sleeves of the sweater...also it won't feel cumbersome. Size 8 was perfect. In addition I purchased two Pencil skirts. One in the Black Watch Plaid and one in Black wool (blend?), last week I purchased a pencil skirt in bright yellow--which will look great with my Factory blue, green, white, yellow plaid button down shirt.
All three skirts are size 8. The fabric in the solid color is a tad heavier than the black watch plaid, but all three fit fantastic for my curvy figure. Also..the skirts are a great length. Not too short--which is great when you are sitting down at the office...but they aren't frumpily long. Just perfect. I also ended up with a necklace purchase but I was kind of miffed that there were no chain link bracelets. Oh well, I do find myself liking Factory more and more these days.

  29. I was happy for the 25 off the whole store today, but this is an odd promo with the 20-plus-25. I think the SAs in my store were just exhausted explaining it to every person who walked in the place, and then trying to do the math at the register.

The sale section was loaded with new arrivals, too, albeit only a first markdown in most cases. I saw a lot of prices lower than online, so double check if you venture out to a B & M. I got a Tweed-Front Tee for $23.99 after discount.

  30. I have stupidly been lusting after those ridiculously-priced suede leggings from last year. TheTysons Corner Ctr in McLean, VA still has a pair in my size, but they won't budge on the price (only $499, bc they were willing to honor that online sale price, but not the additional 40%) -- can anyone check that out?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. kriswerc - Leather has been excluded from promos, so perhaps that's they're not honoring the additional 40%. That doesn't make sense ot me, but that's the first thought that came to mind.

The other thing is they may simply not know that there is an addtl 40% off online. I heard a mgr confidently tell an employee "they're not doing it online." The promos are the essentially the same in-store & online. Online it's an addtl 40% off sale items. In-store it's 20% off sale items + 25% off store wide and they're stacking those two.

Online we can use INSTYLE for 25% off sitewide, so that's the same as the global 25% in-store. I don't know what the rationale is with the 20 + 25% other than to waste time and create a need for aspirin.

      Delete
    2. that should've read ---> in-store it's 20% off sale items + 25% off store wide and they're stacking those two, which equals 40% -- same as online

      Delete
    3. I feel the same as you kriswerc. I also will not bite b/c they're FS and I can't try them on even at 40% off of $499, no way would I try these w/o the ability to return if the fit was wrong. I really like the way they look though.

      Delete
    4. Oh, and did you say they have them at your b&m? Did you try them on? How do they fit? Would love to hear! Thx

  34. Think it is a glitch at the Factory, Pihwoah Lulu. The 25% off with SHOPNOW looks to be the next promo at the retail site through Oct. 14, rather a letdown after EXTRA40 but the 25% off is on everything, except the exceptions. ;)

  35. I have some online orders still coming but I had to run some errands and so I popped into jcrew while I was out. Somehow I wasn't really in the mood to shop (must be getting sick) but I noticed some really cute tees. I love me some tees because I'll wear them year round under sweaters and all that, But they were all really thin cotton or linen and I was really disappointed. I would have totally bought some if they were just a little thicker. :/

And short hills (nj) had a few of those tweed front sweaters in sale section. Didn't really care for anything else there though. :/

  36. Bummer, the 40% off sale disappeared online. and now its only 25%.

  37. I went to Factory this weekend at Bergen Town Center and it was a mess. This was only the second time I've been to that Factory location and always looks like a tornado went through it. 41. Just a warning - if you were planning to machine/hand wash your mixed stitch merino Tippi - DON'T.

I put it in the handwash cycle of my machine (along with a merino Tippi in heather dockside).

The heather dockside Tippi came out looking perfect, as they always do.

The mixed stitch Tippi came out doll-sized. I managed to stretch/block it back to maybe a size XS (it went in as a size L).

    Sigh.
