JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

  3. I styled some neutrals on my blog earlier this week - the Oxford blue Tilda, Factory pom pom dot Charley sweater (factory version of the swiss dot tippi) and the Factory colorblock stripe Charley sweater. Basics...but easy outfits!

  4. I know this is OT but has anybody else had an unusually long time between placing an order and receiving a shipping notice from Factory? I placed an order early Monday morning and it still hasn't shipped. The item is still showing as available online so I don't think it's sold out. I called CS and the CS rep said it was because Monday was Columbus day (I though only govt. employees got Columbus day off?). Anyway, just curious.

    1. I made an order Friday night and it still hasn't shipped yet. I just called them about it, and I basically got the run around. My order still shows as "open" but according to them, the items are pulled. I have no idea why they are waiting so long to ship.

    2. 312JCgirl - YES! I placed two orders Tues, two on Wed, and one early this morning and NOTHING has shipped yet! I live in Richmond - and JC ships from Roanoke - usually it is here the next day. NO WORD from my emails to VPS and customer service either. Not very happy.

    3. Not Factory but I placed a regular J.Crew order that hasn't shipped yet. Normally it's within 24 hours, hopefully soon! I miss the usual speediness.

    5. I ordered 7 things, one order, during the 50% wknd, and one of them was back ordered until Oct. 28. Nothing has shipped--EXCEPT the back ordered item. #ilovjcrew

    6. Same as roxy -- I ordered from the retail site in the wee hours of Tuesday morning (10/15) and it's still showing as Open. Usually I would've had it yesterday afternoon. When I contacted CS they told me to wait six (!) business days and then call back if it hadn't shipped then. Who do they think they are... Gap? (ha!)

    7. My orders (5!!!) are from retail as well. Emailed my VPS yesterday, no reply. Emailed customer service and got a line about standard shipping taking 5-7 business days and I sould have them all by October 23rd. WHAT??? I love how J Crew makes a change and then tells us our inquiries/expectations are wrong.

    8. Yeah, I think there must be something going on in their warehouse and they think they can fix it by Monday or so. This has happened once or twice in the past and they ended up expediting shipping on orders because they took so much longer than normal - don't quote me on that, though!

      My response from CS: "Thanks for reaching out regarding the shipping status of your order. I just took a look at it, and do still see an “Open” status. While we do try to process orders very quickly through our warehouse, we don’t guarantee how long it will take before it ships. Sometimes it may take a little longer based on incoming orders, but we do consistently guarantee that you will receive the order no later than end of day on the 6th business day. Since your order was placed on 10/15, the 6th business day is Wednesday, 10/23. The first business day starts the day after the order is submitted. I hope this helps."

    9. I have been feeling nervous too! My order made it to "released" on Tuesday or Wednesday... but hasn't moved from there! I ordered some things I am very excited about and ALMOST paid a little bit more to have them come within the shorter time span. I wonder if I had one that if they would have shipped faster?!?
