J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including 312JCgirl (in this post), & FriendlyFemme (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, as did the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The SEPTEMBER catalog (click here to view) is now available to view. However, the latest OCTOBER catalog is not. (Check your mailbox as it is being sent via snail mail to customers!)

J.Crew is also offering customers to take an additional 25% off SITEWIDE with promo code SHOPFALL. Yey! This code expires September 25, 2013. J.Crew is also offering free shipping with every order (no min!). This offer is for today only, and is automatically applied at checkout.

My top pick is the Jeweled Chandelier Sweatshirt (item 04967; $168.00) in Athletic Grey Ivory. It's both casual and decadent. Who knew a sweatshirt with some jewels could look this gorgeous?!

I am also loving the Houndstooth Baseball Cap (item 06199; $58.00) in Navy Loden. J.Crew has done a great job dressing up this basic item into a chic accessory.

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. Good morning, ladies!

Really liking some of this rollout: elbow patch sweater, stretch herringbone skinny cargo pant, patchwork grid scarf, and grey toggle coat. Also like the "chocolate cosmos" print - this is the closest thing I've seen to the Gallerista that I missed out on a few years back.

Not loving most of the prices. OUCH. The duffle coat I got in 2010 was $100 less (at FP) and lined in Thinsulate. Not loving the lack of non-mini, non-pencil skirts. Not loving the acrylic and poly sprinkled throughout (at these prices). The usual complaints.

Sometimes I wish that Collection would just break off into its own store. How "rare" is it when a search of the word brings up 385 Women's items? Eh...

Can't wait to see pics and hear reviews from you all!

  2. Hi Alexis - I like your picks! I have to say, that camel sweater might make me break my critter ban and I am seriously considering the marigold top as it would go with my camels, my blacks, etc. I must say, I liked quite a lot this time!

  3. I mainly just like the elbow patch sweater. I've been looking for a heavier weight wool sweater. I also like the Grand Canyon bandanna in the mens section and some of the thick patterned socks in the mens section too. I am relieved that I'm not tempted by much this time, although it adds up. Last rollout, it was the merino pocket sweaters, this time it's the elbow patch sweaters.

Apparently the Sterling Skirt has not made its reappearance, which I would have expected by now if it were going to.

    1. Cate, did you size down on the elbow patch sweater and was it itchy? I believe you tried it on. :) thank you!

      Delete
    2. Hi Jan, I bought my regular size in the elbow patch sweater. I tried on a size up, because I like my warm sweaters big, but that was too big. I probably could have sized down, but I liked it roomy and didn't want to lose any length in front. I don't remember it being itchy but I may have had a shirt on under it when I tried it on (not sure why I didn't when I tried on the brocade front sweatshirt). I think the web site said the elbow patch sweater is lambswool. Personally, I wouldn't wear it without a shirt under it because I always do when I wear a thicker wool sweater (so I can take it off if I get hot), but I don't think it was that itchy.

      Delete
    3. Thank you so much, Cate! For lambswool I'd wear something underneath as well. I can't decide which color I like best.

      Delete
    4. cate, I thought we would see the sterling skirt too in this rollout. I’m afraid we may not see it now. I hope I’m wrong….I so loved that skirt and desperately need more in my closet!

      Delete
    5. TXgirl14, I know, if no Sterling skirt now, then when? I expected it in this rollout.

jan, good luck deciding on a color. There isn't one I didn't like. I might cast my vote for the Wine colored one because it is not usual to find a heavier sweater in this color. It's really pretty in person. I've totally changed my tune about this shade, I wasn't a big fan. I may or may not have bought this in more than one color :)

      Delete
    6. I wish I could see them in person! That's a good point about the wine color. I have the stripe boat neck painter tee in the wine color and love the color for fall.

Re: sterling skirt, I think they rolled out the sterling skirt in additional shades last Nov. so maybe they still will.

      Delete
    7. The wine color is gorg. That's the one I tried on. It's not itchy, but I would still wear a t under it. I'm waiting this one out because it's not chilly enough yet, IMO.

    8. I too am majorly bummed about the lack of sterling skirt and new pencil skirt options. No new colours of the plain skirts that go to my knees nor any twee options. Huge disappointment!

      Delete
  4. I, too, am impressed with this rollout! Lots of trendy pieces for the fashion forward, yet so many things that look wearable.

My top pick is the Merino Scarf Sweater -- I feel they really nailed the Moroccan pattern sweater adaption on this one, whereas I wasn't as compelled by the two merino versions last month. My only complaint is, why didn't they make this in more colors?? The print is so rich and works so well on the garment. The Handknit Tile Sweater is almost working for me.

The Embroidered Front Tee is in the same vein as the Merino Scarf Sweater and I like it for the same reasons -- rich, all-over print on a wearable piece.

I loooove the Copper Bloom fabric and was captivated by it right from the spring presentation. But, why didn't they make more items in it?? It's so pretty it's almost precious to the point of being trite, but still, why not do the whole Cafe Capri - popover top - pencil skirt - short sleeve dress - printed pumps onslaught with it as with many other prints in the past?? Then I discovered it comes in girls' shorts (!!) . . . I think I may actually go this route. We'll see if there's a size I can fit into . . .

WMM, I like the camel sweater too!

    1. Agreed - I am loving the tile motif in this rollout in general, and I really like this sweater. The camel sweater is calling my name as well - a first for me on the critter front.

      Copper Bloom fabric is lovely!

As usual, I am yearning for more jackets and dresses. Every once and again JC comes out with a must-have in those categories but in general I am finding their jackets and dresses to be one-note, and this rollout is no exception.

  5. I like the bonded merino sweaters, one is a sweater coat and the other sort of a boxy sweater with an elbow-length sleeve. That sweater coat looks pretty nice. I like the prints used this rollout as well, the chocolate cosmos print is beautiful. I'd love to see the dress on someone!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Dani, the bonded merino shapes really appeal to me too! I am almost certain I'll buy the boxy sweater even though I won't wear it much each year. It's such a mod-slash-retro shape.

      Delete
    2. I tried the bonded merino sweater that was at the top of my list (the short one, not the cardigan) and it looked horrible on me. It is probably going to look better on taller ladies as the round shape needs to be balanced out (I looked liked a pumpkin). It is really lovely though, I was so bummed!
Dani, I think you can pull it off!

      Delete
    3. Ema I can't imagine that if something looks horrible on you it will be better on me! DF has the height for that one and the slim figure, try it DF! I was thinking of the sweater coat but then I remembered they did this cardigan last year (?) in a navy in the same shape, I ordered it and had to return it as it was hideous on me. It looks like the same shape though the caramel merino peeking out is so pretty and a different touch. I'd like to see it but I won't order it as it will cost me $30 to send it back.

      Delete
    4. It is very oversized in the shoulders area and probably the fact that I have square shoulders doesn't help. The SA said was surprised at how bad it looked on me but she also said that she has seen it looking great on another lady who has my features, so who knows. It might be worth a try! I was relieved in one sense because it is highly impractical weather-wise but so pretty!

  6. I am really happy with this rollout -- in scrolling through this morning, I found so many different items that looked beautifully done and wearable. I agree, the chocolate cosmos print is lovely, although those colors aren't for me. I look forward to seeing others rock it. Dani, that Bonded Merino Sweater Coat was top of my list too. The coats look really pretty and in great rich colors. If I didn't have it in black, I'd love the red one. The piped coat is great too. Alexis, love that Chandelier Sweatshirt too! But have a previous jeweled sweatshirt version, so can't justify it. I might be alone, but like the ruffled sweatshirt too. I saw the jacquard Floral Sweatshirt in store yesterday, and thought it was really pretty, though itchy. I also am intrigued by the wool flannel dresses, and almost pulled the trigger, but am trying to limit my dresses. Above all, I'm drooling over the double-faced cashmere dress.

    1. Oops, when I was talking about coats, I meant I loved the red Wintress Puffer.

Also, forgot to mention that I tried on and loved the Merino Swing Sweater in store. Can't imagine that it's actually sold out though. They had a bright melon color in the sale section for $59.99 before discount. They also had navy and gray at full price.

    2. aaand one more comment -- just posted up pics/review of the Floral Sweatshirt HERE.

    3. shopwithm, I NEED the double faced cashmere dress. NEED. That would be the most decadent item of clothing ever!

    4. I know, I'm dying to just order it to see it IRL and get it out of my head. But then I would end up wanting to keep it, and couldn't buy anything else for fall, winter, spring and summer. lol.

    5. Shopwithm... I'm with you on the ruffled sweatshirt. I think it's darling! Have you seen the crewcuts version (04920)? It's pretty close to the grownup one and it's $49.50 pre- promos.

    6. I did see that as well, but I haven't had luck with the girls crewcuts items, alas! I might try out the navy, though it's backordered already!

  7. Madly in love with the Collection Leather Flowers tee, but I have no use for such a pretty thing in my wardrobe right now. The silk Owl Print shirt, on the other hand....

  8. I just bought the merino scarf sweater but I also love the wool bomber peacoat, collection cashmere colorblock sweater and the tweed skirt with the leather back! I like some many items from this rollout.

  9. Off topic but Factory started a new promo today 30% off everything online only. Also thanks for the shout out., Alexis! I like a lot in this new roll out.

  10. I like more from this rollout than I have for quite awhile. Topping my list is the Collection bonded merino sweater-jacket, Embroidered front tee in navy/burgundy & antique linen black, and Houndstooth baseball cap. Also love several of the Collection pieces, but will have to wait and try to get them on sale eventually.

Agree with others that the chocolate cosmos print is very lovely. The collection peplum top in that print is one of the pieces I would like to try, even though I'm not even an overly big fan of the peplum style. However, overall it reminds me of the tops J.Crew offered back in '07/'08.

  11. Thanks for the shoutout! I want some things, like the elbow patch sweater (such a sucker for elbow patches) and the merino scarf sweater. I'll be making a trip out to my local b&m today to see what they have. Unfortunately, my store doesn't get a ton of stuff, but they should have something good.

  12. I tried a few things yesterday and my favorite is by far the flower sweatshirt in the navy colorway. It was very flattering and the fabric is very different from the green one (it's a lightweight brocade with a smooth, silky finish, the green is more brocad-y if it makes sense and therefore stiff). Fits TTS to a bit small/short (I will go TTS).

  13. The tweed front skirt in leather, I die. The bonded merino v-neck, i have to try. The houndstooth baseball hat is a love. That swiss dot silk shirt is gorgeous. Oh and I love the chocolate cosmo and now I want to drink a chocolate cosmo and its hardly 8am!

  14. Still lamenting the complete lack of knee length a-line skirts that aren't $500 and/or fragile silk. Come ON!

I like the chocolate cosmos print too, but the items are a little fancy for my lifestyle. I am buying much more from Lord and Taylor, Gap, eBay, and shopping my closet as many items that have been too small are now fitting again. Today I am wearing a gorgeous suiting dress from 2008, and it along with all of my other old J.Crew items will have to be pried out of my cold, dead hands.

I wish they'd get someone new to design their shoes. I am so bored with their offerings, except perhaps the bright blue tassel loafers. May have to have those!

    1. LOL! I was thinking the same thing about the knee length a-line skirts!!! There are tons of knee length pencil skirts but where are the a-line! Fall is *the* season to roll those out. I don't understand it. I wonder if J.Crew is trying to save money by not using the extra fabric...

      Delete
    2. Agreed - I didn't see any good shoes in this rollout.

      Delete
    3. Agree on the lack of decent length skirts not in the form of pencil. Unfortunately, not much peeked my interest in this rollout except the elbow patch sweater and swiss dot blouse and possibly the owl blouse. Might have to do with the fact I'm feeling under the weather, but unfortunately, it was all blah to me this morning. I think I like my jeweled sweatshirt from factory better and at a more reasonable price point. I"m still trying to wear my Fall/September arrivals --- it's just turning cool here after 70+ days of 90 degree heat.

    4. I am TOTALLY in agreement with this post. I have been stalking the skirt section of the last few rollouts in search of something a-line, but alas, I am left wanting....

  15. Thanks M & Ema for your views on the floral sweatshirt. I really am loving the Crew's sweatshirts this year! I will probably succumb to both colorways because they are tempting me. I also am lusting after the chandelier sweatshirts. The gray is probably too similar to my last years jeweled one but the heather one may be a possibility. I love the cheeky camel sweater too! Not seeing too much in the way of cute cafe capris this season except for the tattersall but holy pricetag!! Love everything on page 83 head to toe. I just have to figure out a way to come up with $1320 for the outfit! This is probably a bad time to try to end my one woman shopping campaign to try to help the economy! Plus my hubs is starting to notice all the jcrew packages darn it!

  16. I went ahead and got the silk boy shirt in the owl print, it's a fun print without being too cutesy and I have a feeling it will sell out fairly quickly.

I love the marigold print dress and skirt as well, can't decide if they are worth it price wise for my lifestyle. I love them but I don't have a lot of places to wear them but they're so pretty, maybe I should just wear them anyways!

I liked the camel sweater until I saw the extra tassels were sewn on separately, I would prefer it if it was just all a knit pattern, maybe they are easily snipped off? Of course with it being Wednesday I keep thinking of that sweater being happier than a camel on hump day :)

  17. I like the elbow patch sweater, but I like best it in the oatmeal color and I already purchased the Collection Silk Mohair Sweater earlier this year (which I love) and I don't really need two slouchy, oversized, oatmeal colored sweaters.

I also like the wool bomber peacoat in Navy. Its a perfect "classic with a twist." I like the Pleated Lace Stripe Blouse, but its very similar to the silk pintuck top from two seasons ago, which I fell in love with and ended up with three colors of (the one with the sheer sleeves). I'm tempted to get the deep blueberry to add to my rainbow collection, but for now it sits on my wishlist.

(As a side note, does anyone else find that the wishlist features helps them order less. I get the satisfaction of clicking the button to add it to the wishlist and then I can check on my pretty things each morning and really decide what I want to order.)

The brocade sweatshirt in the navy and bronze is absolutely beautiful, but I can't picture how I'd wear it / what I would pair it with / to what occasion I would wear it. I almost feel like I'd get more wear out of the skirt because its a dressy item that can be worn for dressy events.

  18. Anyone else getting bored with the recycled designs? Not much in the way of new silhouettes/shapes but rather more new embellishments, patterns and colors. The coats are especially disappointing this season. Do they think we won't notice that it's last year's design if it comes in a new color?! C'mon J Crew, you're going to have to do a lot better to get me to part with my hard earned money.

    4. Perhaps it's meant to appear in the next rollout? We've seen this in the past, too -- current items styled with items that aren't out yet. Maybe it's to pique our interest? It's worked for me several times! I'd be glad to see more iterations and colors of the Merino Scarf Sweater.

      Delete
    5. Oh that's a great catch. That's the best looking thing from this rollout to me, so I hope it becomes available soon. Otherwise, for me it'll probably just be the elbow-patch sweater (the camel looks great) and the cotton-silk voile dot popover. Those are the only two items that seem practical and decently priced for this rollout. Like others I am sadly awaiting a nice knee-length a-line skirt....

  25. Things I like: Jeweled chandelier sweatshirt, Embroidered front tee, Cotton-silk voile dot popover, Collection silk lace-front tee, Collection pencil skirt in scalloped lace in Bristol blue (color is so pretty, but I’ve seen many lace skirts like this at much more affordable prices), Postage stamp mini in chevron stripe, Wool bomber peacoat

I probably only seeing getting the Embroidered front tee and Cotton-silk voile dot popover (depending on the fit). I really like the wool bomber peacoat, but not so much the price point. And the Jeweled chandelier sweatshirt is gorgeous…but the maintenance scares me a bit. I’m glad to see the Icon trench in wool-cashmere make a return. I bought this in cabernet last year and it has been one of my favorite coats I’ve ever bought.

I'll take another look and maybe other things will peak my interest. I think I'm still sad that the sterling skirt didn't show up...so I'm in kind of a bad mood..ha.

The chocolate cosmos print is so pretty, but neither the top or dress would get any use - would love a skirt in that print though. The Greta dress looks so classic and I am looking forward to seeing your reviews :-)

  32. Oh there is a lot of very lovely items out today, but like has been echoed above (a lot), the prices are so HIGH. For the double faced cashmere and leather, it is understandable, but the very simple dresses and skirts in poly, it is definitely a head scratcher. Even if the poly is beautifully printed in a unique design, it still is a manmade fiber and not what I would define as luxurious. But if people pay the price, I guess J. Crew feels that can charge it.

I will say I think J. Crew should branch out design wise. I have that double face cashmere popover from a few years ago that I love and will cherish forever, but they repeated the look in the dress and the coat from this rollout. I don't know why this bugs so much, it just seems lazy...especially since J. Crew is deemed to be so "special."

I am always surprised what gets called collection and what doesn't. I ordered that floral brocade sweatshirt in green because for what I expected the price to be and what it was (plus a 25% discount and free shipping), I was happy to buy it today. I thought that sweatshirt would be called collection and be very expensive when I first saw it on Rynetta's blog, and was thrilled to find it was decently priced (for J. Crew, lol).

Anyhow, bottom line, lots of pretty, but not for me, sadly.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I was surprised at first when the floral sweatshirt was "only" $110. But I think the acetate and poly in its fabric is why...and it makes a difference, as the sweatshirt may be itchy for some. But it's really pretty and for 25% off, I'm sure you'll get a great cost-per-wear with it ;)

  33. I am liking the new roll-out. My favorites are:

-Collection Shearling Cardi: Loved it on the model in the style guide, but when I saw the price, yikes!..and its not even cashmere, it's merino.

-Collection Bonded Merino Sweater: Loved it on the model in the style guide, but it comes only in one size?

    -Floral Sweatshirt in Grey
    -Jeweled Sweatshirt in Grey
    -Boucle Bomber Jacket
-Collection Fluted Skirt in copper bloom: yikes! the price..ah..
-Double Cloth Sabrina Coat: Camel or Bristol Blue
    -Stadium Cocoon Coat: petite sandstone

Not too thrilled with the accessories they launched-shoes, jewelry, and even bags..
Same goes with the dresses. Its been a few too many seasons where I haven't been excited about their dresses, and if I was, its probably $300+..

    2. I so wanted the ballet pink jacket to work for me but the large was huge on top and the medium was too small around the hips. The medium in the two tone zip cardigan fit perfectly.
      Hope this helps!

  35. Almost everything I really want is over $300, which is crazy ridiculous. The rich claret of the wool-cashmere icon trench and the calfhair moto jacket are especially beautiful, in my opinion. The trench looks thick and luxurious and is much cheaper than a Burberry coat (not to mention, would keep me warmer!). But I'm worried about the size and length...

I ended up just ordering the fluted skirt in double crepe in blue for now because I love the ivory one so much already.

Honestly, to echo other JCA's, I was hoping for some longer work-appropriate skirts, like the Sterling or Flair. Now I'm kicking myself for not getting that navy Flair skirt on an online popback a week ago...

  36. Also, does anyone know which sweater exactly is being worn by the model HERE?

    1. That's a cute sweater. It'll probably be on another launch next month..? I did see this sweater worn when they showed it at New York Fashion week back in February.
I hope it will be offered in other colors, and that its not made of polyester blend.

    2. I do, I tried it yesterday. It is a Collection cashmere sweater, very cozy but priced in the $600 (I know, right?). It is offered only in that color. I tried a XS and it fits small IMO (just in case anyone wants to splurge).

      Delete
    3. And here I thought that baby alpaca sweater was overpriced. $600?! Was the wool spun from a family-owned mill in Kashmir that has been around since the time of Abraham and the goats supplied only with milk and honey delivered by angels? "The only sweater you'll ever need...but in a color that doesn't really match a whole lot and probably really only appropriate for one to two seasons."

      No, I'm not bitter :P

  37. Just came back from the Marlton, NJ store. I bought the Eaton trouser in tweed. I don't see this material online. These pants are AWESOME.

I also bought the floral sweatshirt in gray. I've been fluctuating between an xxs and xs in tops since the summer. I went with the xs in this. So did the SA who I was speaking with. It's a bit boxy. I find all of the tops I've been buying there this fall are kinda boxy. But that works on me!

I also tried the sweater with the patches. Super cute. But, I will most likely wait it out to see if it goes on sale. It's definitely a chilly willy weather-type sweater, and we're not there yet in Jersey.

The store had a ton of matchstick cords. The new arrivals are fab. The shoe and belt selection was not that great.

    3. Would you ladies mind posting the style# for the Eaton Teed pants? I love the Eatons!!

    4. Style number is 03454. Hope you check back. I just saw your question. I've had the longest day ever topped off by a tantrumy 2-year-old. I SO deserved my purchase today. LOL.

The tweed is speckled with a teeny bit of red and blue. I can't believe it's not online. It was the best looking of the whole bunch, IMO. The other fabrics are very "businessy," and that's not my style. The tweed is cute because you can wear it for work or going out and it's very funky and fresh, yet classic because it's tweed, IMO.

    5. Susan - Thanks so much! By chance these are the ones you bought? It has the same style# online but called the Cropped Donegal Wool Pant (under the Full Length Trouser category, LOL go figure JCREW!!)

  39. Tried on some stuff and all are lovely but didn't work for me or my figure. The elbow patch sweater made me look frumpy. . The jewel chandelier sweatshirt was nice but I felt like it looked like I was trying too hard to jazz up an essentially sweatshirt-- too much bling for me. Maybe I just like the subtle versions better like factory version or even retails jewel painted version. Liked the tipped Swiss dot blouse but the ones in my store already had thread frays-- probably fragile silk.
Liked marigold print but didn't have time to try on-
Might go back and try for fun but doesn't fit my lifestyle. I have bought their brocade / jacquard tops in the past but don't wear too often so I wonder about the cpw.
The silk tee with leather flowers was very delicate!
I'm hoping some of these items will make sale and I can use winter reward points- think it ends in September and issued October end?

    1. Hi cuckoo - this rewards cycle should end on September 30, I believe. I bet that the rewards will probably go out early November and expire mid-December.

  41. I have to say, I was looking forward to some new no 2 wool pencil skirts and nothing :(

I like the woven panel sweater in black, maple tweed pencil skirt, jewel collar sweater and the tattersall cafe capris (but not for $300). Also loving the cabernet icon trench. Not in love with a ton...but with these prices, who can afford to be?

  42. Trying to talk myself out of the Collection Leather and Tweed pencil skirt. Especially since I just bought two others. The conversation is not leaning towards the logical side of my brain! MUST HAVE IT!

  43. Placed an order this morning and then received the October catalog this afternoon (FINALLY!) Loving even more things after seeing in print. Definitely NOT loving the crewcuts and new baby selection, however. Cashmere cardigan sweaters for baby, really? Cause moms with babies have time to change them after every spit up and run it all to the dry cleaners regularly. And exactly how many parties do they think a toddler girl is going to attend? Not every kid is Suri Cruise.

    1. lol on the cashmere for babies! I did fall for the grey wool skirt with the front pockets but I will hold off for now on additional purchases...the shoes and some of the wool dresses are sooooo inviting but have to stay on budget!

    2. OMG. I know. My son ruined so many of his clothes this summer. At 2 years old, his cute ass is wearing Old Navy, Carters and Gap. He has a J. Crew getup that my godmother bought him. I just can't see forking over that kind of dough for a toddler. He's dirty within 2 minutes after waking up.

    1. I saw the navy with ivory dots at Columbus Circle NYC last night, they had an entire pile out.

    2. I KNOW! There were a couple of piles in my store yesterday, but online they are sold out. And on the drive home, I though, hmmmm. I kinda dig that sweater. I totally would have ordered it with the red Jackie (my store didn't have that), but oh well. It's a sign. LOL.

    3. I would have them do a store search for you.

    4. There was a big pile at the Michigan Avenue store in Chicago (as of yesterday mid-day anyway). Good luck!

    5. Hi, Audrey. I have the Tippi in French Knot in the ivory, gray, black colorway in a size small that I will be returning to the store this week-end. If you are interested email me at BeachChicGirl@gmail.com.

    2. Re. Madewell codes, if you are a subscriber I would look in the Junk folder. They changed the newsletter email recently so it might be there (mine was!) It is one of the best promos ever as there is no minimum (you can apply those $25 to any amount) and free shipping on any order.

  51. I'm very excited the lace-front sweatshirt got a cut online (doesn't appear marked down in the store) to $59.99; bought the navy in a size up.
Also, quick review on an item that isn't new, but it hasn't received much chatter, and I really like it! The Pleated Chiffon Blouse in Gingham (03784) is still available in 00-6 in navy (pinot noir is sold out), and is basically a long-sleeve version of the silk gingham top. The sleeves may not be worth as much extra as they are charging, but I love the look! The sleeves are sheer, and the body is lined with polyester. The button closure is a bit different than on the sleeveless shell--that one is a fabric loop with a pearl-ish button; the long-sleeve item has a hidden button behind the placket, and an odd, stiff, non-fabric loop. I prefer it open, and find it isn't very visible when wearing.

Just thought it was worth a mention!

Lastly, a few quick cuts I noticed in-store (hope I'm remembering correctly): striped pieced pont dress, $79.99; studded toe ceces, $119, foulard cafe capris, $139.99, nun bib dress is on-sale, merino colorblock sweater, $59.99 (all before discount). HTH someone!

  52. OT but just noticed the Mint Stone Necklace got a markdown overnight from $150 to 49.99 (before adding promo). I think this price might be a mistake -- I just ordered it and we'll see if it ships. I'm really digging the Wishlist!

  56. Anyone have experience with/an opinion on the Thomas Mason tuxedo shirt (item 40718)? I saw the blue one (30627) in the most recent catalog and it made me curious. It's excluded from the promo, so I probably won't bite now, but it's hanging out on my wishlist now.

    1. Cate, I've had the blue one for 2 years and it's one of my favorite shirts. Goes well with everything (gray, black, navy)and find it more versatile than the white one. Easy to care for (machine wash) and a better value than their silk shirts.

    2. Thanks Marie. I can see how the blue color might be better, and maybe a little less literal. I loved the way it looked in the catalog.
