  1. I did and I got the Fair Isle sweater. I'm hoping this works out better than the sweater I ordered from the last roll-out.

I have 6 Factory codes, so if anyone would like one please let me know.

  2. Does anyone have tips on entering multiple codes. I can only get one to work at a time. TIA

    1. bythelake - Only one code works at a time. If you go over $100, you don't need the one-time use, free shipping code that was emailed out.

      Delete
    2. You cannot stack codes online. If the 10/20/30 code is more favorable you should use that instead of the free shipping code. Or you could always try to call an online VPS to see if they will waive your shipping. HTH!

      Delete
    3. It looks like you can enter the free ship code first, then the 25% off to get them both to work.

    4. bythelake: I did the same thing this morning when I placed my order and surprised that stacking coupons worked.

  3. Although I went to Factory this past weekend, I think I might order one item I didn't see which is the button-down in jeweled oxford. I think that's a bit more practical for the office than the jeweled chambray shirt.
I think I've traded sparkles for jewels this season. :)

  4. There's a stone bracelet that's not online & the snowcap quilted jacket was knocked off for the Crewlet. Both of those are here with the inside out Fair Isle sweater.

I've reviewed the polka dot sequin tee, beaded sweatshirt, houndstooth Charley, jewel collar buttondown & more. I did the 40% Gilt City math in some of those posts. In some cases, the current prices + the now 25% Gilt City coupon will be close to the prices some of us enjoyed last weekend. Hope this makes sense! Of course if you're spending over $200 and have one of the 30% off coupons, that wil be the best savings. I agree w/silver_lining in another thread about having an internal set price. For me, the difference between the 25% vs 30% savings wouldn't bother me.

    1. The square stone bracelet & quilted jacket *are* online. I wasn't logged into the site thru the email when I was viewing. I finally figured it out after I went back to find the dotted lambswool sweater that's actually men's, not women's.

  5. I ordered a few more things. The Houndstooth Pencil Skirt I wasn't able to try on, along with the men's Lamswool Dotted Sweater. I added enough to use the 30% off. That or the Gilt coupon is the best deal to use.

  7. I am done buying retail. They are knocking everything off now, even the stuff that sat around on the sale rack last February!

    1. um... yeah... feeling the same over here... i can't speak for quality, but it's more than a little annoying that factory is THE SAME EXACT STUFF i already bought from retail.

      Delete
    2. I feel the same way. I've cut back on my jcrew spending because I'm tired of buying retail items for $$$$$$ only to have them knocked off a year later. It makes me mad they do this. The whole point of some of the intarsia sweaters and herringbone excursion vest was that they are RARE. And to make the herringbone excursion vest exactly the same? Makes me no longer a proud owner. I don't mind when factory copies retail but puts their own spin, like different colors, etc but it's ridiculous to reproduce the same exact thing.

    3. Comparing a retail merino Tippi to a merino Charley in the same size - other than the color (obviously) there is absolutely zero difference. Same size, same cut, same feel, same weight. I only buy retail Tippis if they're on sale anymore! I also kind of prefer the Charley in some cases just because they come in a cotton version.

  8. Weren't some of these sweaters in the "regular" collection earlier this year?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Does anyone have the actual link for the preview? For some reason I was removed from their e-mail list, and even after asking three times they haven't added me back on.

  10. I really wish I hadn't bought the short sleeve polka dot shirt from retail. I like the factory one better. Oh well. I did buy the polka dot/stripe sweater. I am debating the bulldog sweater also.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm really liking a lot more Factory has to offer (especially this Fall) over the retail. Like many, it is ridiculous that they are almost identical to retail items. However, I did purchase the sequin polka dot tee last year and the factory version does look better. I'm also liking the jeweled sweatshirt but cannot decide in gray or black... I also like their flannel shirt collection better as well. I think I'll check out my local B&M factory at lunch and if they do not have a lot of the newest items, I'll order online. The fact that I can use today's special promotion along with my 10/20/30 promotion at the same time makes me smile! Side note: I picked up the factory black "pixie" style pant and wearing today --- I LOVE THESE PANTS!!!!

  12. Seriously irritated. I wanted the owl graphic tee and the only size left is an extra small. I was not going to buy anything else from this rollout.
    Oh well!

    1. Keep checking back. The bulldog sweater showed as "Sold Out" then 30 minutes later was available in all sizes. They seem to be having a website problem.

      Delete
    2. I snagged the owl tee as soon as I got the email; I knew it would be sold out in a medium by the end of the day! Same with the French hen tee last rollout. Sorry you didn't get one! Maybe they'll restock with a better promo.

  13. Has anyone seen the draped v-neck top in real life?

I really wanted the optic-dot skirt and have been waiting for a percentage off to buy, and of course I waited too long, because the price dropped but now my size is out!

  14. I got the Factory Leather Bomber jacket. Of course it is back ordered until Oct 11. By that time in Chicago I could already be wearing my winter coats. Or it could be 80 degrees (seriously!) The stores may get it before then. Has anyone seen this jacket in stores? Of course I have no idea what the quality of the leather will be.

  15. Tempted by the Hacking Jacket in Check. Has anyone seen this in person and can comment on quality and whether it runs true to size?? Please let me know.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I saw it in the store but didn't try it on. It looked similar to a retail hacking jacket from last year although I am sure the wool content is less. I think I recall a JCA commenting in another post that the elbow patches were oddly placed. I take the same size in Factory blazers as retail. I quite like Factory blazers and the lesser wool content does not bother me. HTH!

    2. Thank you! I passed on it for now. But may buy it in the future if the price comes down a little.

    3. Do you mean the cream-based houndstooth? I reviewed the new Hacking Jacket - ish blazer in this comment from the recent "Review" post

I took a 4, whereas my usual size in retail blazers is a 2...but this one is longer, and I have a little post-baby muffin top.... :0)

  16. @Shariyu or anyone that owns the Gigi/Pixie pants Do you get these dry cleaned? How do they hold up? Any way to take care of at home?

    ReplyDelete

    1. I own the Pixie pants and wash them on a cold cycle and hang them to dry. I haven't experienced any issues with this method. HTH

      Delete
    2. I machine wash my Pixie pants, and have even started drying them in the dryer. They're in excellent condition after nine months of wear (& I wear them for workout class twice a week).

      Delete
    3. I also machine wash and dry my pixie pants. I still have a pair from 2009 that looks new. I have no clue why J.Crew tells you to dry clean a thick ponte made entirely of synthetic materials. Don't do it!

    4. Like others, I wash mine in cold water many many times and just hang to dry. Kept its shape and no problem.

  17. I have a J. Crew Factory Jeweled Collar Herringbone Sweater, the red/burgundy color, size Large, Brand New with Tags, that I plan to return this week. I thought that I'd offer it here for the exact same price I paid, 51.00 + 5.95 USPS priority mail shipping. Email: jcrewismyfavstore@gmail.com if you're interested!

  18. Does anyone know whether the other fair isle sweater (the one with orange, green and blue on a heather background, shown in last week's promo email: http://jcrewaficionada.blogspot.com/2013/09/jcrew-factory-up-to-30-off.html) is only available in stores? I was hoping it would be in this online rollout, but it still isn't...

    1. I was thinking the same thing! I was hoping it would be available but I did not see it either.

    4. Shopalot -- I just purchased that this weekend during the extra 40% off promo and it is 100% wool! It's really cute, but I had to size up to a S to make it fit right, I'm usually an xs or xxs.

    5. Thanks, Lisa! 100% wool - yay! Good to know it runs small.

  19. I have a free shipping code if anyone wants it:

It's hard for me to bite on Factory items because there is only one Factory near me and it's pretty far.

Also, I think Factory is still really expensive most of the time, even though the quality isn't any better than Ann Taylor or BR (maybe in some cases, noticeably worse too). But there are a lot of things I've seen recently that are super cute. Hopefully they'll still be around when a bigger sale hits (e.g., 50% off final sale).

  20. Has anyone tried on the camel sequin tank? I feel like these sometimes run big.

    1. shopwithm - Some measurements for the factory colorblock sequin tank (02076) are:

      Size S - chest = 34", waist = 37"
      Size M - chest = 35", waist = 38"

  26. Has anyone purchased the Boucle Peplum jacket?
I really liked the retail version but refused to pull the trigger because the quality wasn't in line with the price tag. Is the factory version about the same?

    1. Vegkid I have the retail version in blue that I love. I bought the Factory version in gray but ended up returning it. The fit is very boxy and sizing down didn't quite work because it was too tight in the waist when zipped. I also like that the retail version had a two way zip but the Factory version does not. Other than the fit issues and the zipper the quality of the fabric looks about the same but I didn't compare fabric content. HTH!

On the Factory side, thanks again to AN, who shared VIP for 30% off + free shipping, no min. Shop with the Factory Irl Pic Guide.

And finally, last nite I reviewed the Fair Isle sweater discussed here & that Alexis has a photo of in another post. It's not online yet, but pics, & style # are in this post.

  35. Hi savvy shopper,
I returned a sz 14 crewcuts cotton hen print top (think it's the same one you're talking about) 2 weeks ago at the Arundel Mills, MD outlet. Don't know if it's there because the SA who did the return was eyeing it and said "oh yes! it's my size!" so I don't know if she ended up buying it herself to wear. Otherwise you could call Hagerstown, MD outlets- they have a crewcuts section and they're always super helpful to do store searches.

  38. The Factory store had the waffle henley tops, but I don't see them online. There was black, white/ivory, bright blue, bright pink, and gray (maybe another one or two I've forgotten).

Also, I kind of love the Factory skinny jeans (Toothpicks) in Dolphin Gray color. They are the same color name as the Retail Toothpicks but I think they fit differently. I think there is a little extra room in the calves. Retail Toothpicks have never worked for me, the fit is wrong in any size. Not all of the Factory Toothpicks work on me either, just these and a pair of white ones I bought in the spring. Just thought I'd mention it, in case anyone else has similar fit problems with the Toothpicks.

Also they had the Skimmer pants (lined) in the same light gray color that was in retail stores last year. These fit me so much better, though.

    1. I bought those Skimmer pants today! Purchased the coral-colored ones weeks ago but I've been looking for a light grey ankle-length pant so when I saw these they immediately went into my shopping bag. I don't think they were on the site yesterday. The Skimmers fit me better than the Cafe Capris, for whatever reason.

      Delete
    2. I saw the coral ones, so pretty! The retail cotton Cafe Capris fit me fine, but the retail wool Cafe Capris are a bad fit on me. Better for us that the Factory ones work, they are lined and cheaper!
