  1. I've gone green! No, I'm not recycling my clothing, although I really should do more of that. I am greenifying my closet. I know it's not a word but it seems appropriate. I have never seen so much green in there before, mostly minty shades but still so much. Good thing it's the color du jour. It hit me when I went to get a coat this morning and I stood there trying to decide between the Cocoon in Dublin, the Funnel in Neptune, the Griffin in mint and a factory version of the Pembroke Tweed Lady Coat in a deep pine color. Who knew that when I stopped just buying colors that I love (I'm looking at you yellow) that I would actually find colors that love me. I don't know what Kermit was getting on about. Green is such an easy color to wear.

Back on point. I love J.Crew's unadulterated love of color. That's what first drew me to the brand and keeps me coming back. I especially appreciate it in their coats.

  2. Me too! I love the colors!

My favorite purchase this winter has been the mid-rise toothpick cords in Tall. They fit me PERFECTLY. I understand they will be issuing a gray mid-rise toothpick jean this March and am hoping they will be in the tall size.

  3. Looks like Calgary is finally getting a store (Canada)!!! I can't wait. I see the careers section on J Crews website is advertising jobs for Chinook Centre.

  4. Received the spearmint no. 2 pencil skirt yesterday - love it! So thrilled that J. Crew decided to line the cotton pencils this year. The color is very nice and has more of blue undertone than green. It will probably be at least a month before I switch over from wool to cotton skirts but I am very excited to wear it.

  5. Love my online VPS!! She is amazing with the WWFI option and any type of price adjustment and return credit. I honestly cannot say enough about her. What a Gem!! Thank you Sydney

  6. Me too, thanks to Katie (VPS) who gave me PA's for all three of my orders to 40%, without a hassle.

  7. Thank you to the Madison Ave Collection store, which called the catalog line to ensure I got the right price on the Calf Hair Everlys. :) Very excited to get the shoes for such a steal!

  8. I am still loving my biennial satchel in calf hair. It has become one of my 'go to' bags for this season, and continues to hold up well, even with all the use it has gotten.

  9. LOVE the cocoon coat in dublin green I picked up today at the Chicago, North Ave. store. If anyone is interested, they had more green, black, and a heather stone in size 12. there were some other coats too. don't remember exact sizes, sorry. but the SAs there are super helpful in my experience.

  10. Not sure where to put this, but I went to the store to return a few things and saw they have the new collection. I thought it was interesting that for this new release, the store has the new merchandise before the web site. They also had the new catalog, which I have not received in the mail yet. I don't live anywhere that gets the latest-greatest first, either. Seems like they are trying to draw people into the stores more, probably a good idea, as I want the stores to stay in business.

    1. cate, my store also had new items, which I found strange as it is very, very small and usually only gets a few things from each rollout. It did not have the catalogue, though. I asked the VPS when the new stuff would be online and she said this week, but given that tomorrow is Friday I'm not sure if that will happen.

    2. Isn't that odd? My store had the catalogs out. I didn't see new arrivals on the web site this morning (but it's still early, maybe they'll show up later?).

  11. cate, I was in the store yesterday and noticed all the beautiful new merchandise. Unfortunately, the new catalog was not out and even though I asked, they would not give me one. I know the catalogs are back in the stockroom. The SA said they would have them out on the weekend. Dude, my B&M closed down last month. Give me a freakin' catalog!

    1. Ugh, that is annoying when they have the catalog and can't/won't give it to you. I'd be unhappy if my brick-and-mortar closed down, they have to do something to stop that.

  12. I love the biennial satchel too. I have a leather one that has gone through daily abuse on the subway, to and from work, stuffing it with a laptop and all sorts of various paperwork and things, a lot of air travel, and I'm impressed that it still looks barely used.

  13. Reply not working for me, but I second the feeling Fab FL Mommy has for her biennial calf hair satchel. I saw the bag on the website and then saw your review and was in a "must-have" mode for months until it went on sale with the add'l 40% off. I AM IN LOVE WITH IT AND EVERYONE WHO SEES ME WITH IT LOVES IT TOO! thanks FFM for your review...it was my catalyst to a beautiful bag. I have not put it down since I got it (and it has not mattered to me what I have been wearing!)

    1. Rashawnda: I'm so glad to hear that my review was helpful, and that you are enjoying your bag as much I am mine. :)

  14. And now, if I can just get my hands on those beautiful ankle strap heels shown in the new catalogue! I am clicking my heels and crossing my fingers that there will be a sale b/c I just can't cough up $225, but I am back in a "must-have" mode...holding out for more colors AND a markdown on top of a sale (requirement)!

  16. I just had a nice adjustment for a very disappointing final sale item. I filled out the Bizrate survey, letting them know how badly the "collection lustre shell" differed from the online picture. JCrew followed up and said they would allow me to return it. They're even sending a pre-paid label! Either they take the Bizrate comments very seriously or they've looked up my record and don't want to risk alienating me! Or both!
