Happy Valentine's Day! {celebrating w/ J.Crew?}

I know I have mentioned this before, but I l-o-v-e these posts. It is really interesting to hear what other Aficionadas and Aficionados plan on wearing, since it gives me lots of wonderful ideas for future outfits. :) So for this post, what we are planning to wear on Valentine's Day? :)

My outfit for today will focus on the Heart Me Sweater (Item 54949; $88.00) from J.Crew. It is such a cute sweater and today is the perfect day to wear it! The other J.Crew items I will be wearing include the Perfect Shirt in Gingham Flannel in Smoky Coral (item 24801; $78.00); Janey Patent Flats in Apricot Mist (item 98428; $178.00); Heart Bracelet (item 47884; $78.00); and the Candy Shop Necklace in Vibrant Fuchsia (item 27801;  $195.00).

What are you planning to wear this Valentine's Day? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

  1. Interesting post! I am excited to wear my heartbreaker sweater and my pave hearts bracelet. I will pair them with non J Crew items. My Gap polka dot jeans, they are a dark navy that goes really well with the dark navy hearts. A white button down and a pair of magenta pumps to add some color. Oh, and since it's cold I will top it all off with my tipped peacoat in the ivory color with the navy piping.
    Happy Valentine's day!

  2. Love your outfit Alexis! I am wearing the Hacking Jacket from 2011 in Vibrant Flame, Anthro navy stripe silk top, a pair of flare jeans (non-Jcrew), my Mona pumps in peacock, and a peachy/pink scarf.

Happy Crewlove to all the JCAs!

  4. 137, I plan on wearing the same jeans. I love that the polka dots are sort of faded in. Anyhoo, since I've never really been big on the whole Valentine's Day thing, I am going light on the celebratory clothing.
I'm going to wear my Garland cami in Gladiola print, with a long Banana Republic kelly green cashmere cardigan and Funnel coat in Neptune green. I'm going to top it all off with my fuchsia pink suede Gap loafers, pink beaded earrings and pink rose quartz beaded long necklace. There. No one can say that I was a Valentine's day scrooge. Does a Valentine's day scrooge have a special name?

PS: Alexis your outfit is celebratory and classic all at once. Beautiful.

  7. Happy Valentine's Day to Alexis and all of the JCA's! I love these posts, too. I actually wore my silk heartthrob blouse with a black wool suit to work yesterday, and I'm glad I did b/c today is a sick day. Totally bummed. My outfit for today was going to be the trompe l'oeil lace blouse, double serge wool pencil skirt in flame, and black pumps, but now I'll probably spend the day in my flannel pj's.

  8. Silk shirt in hearthrob, black minnies, cap-toe ballet flats. It's fun that so many JCAs will be wearing this print or their Heart Me sweaters today ...

  9. I'm wearing the silk hearthrob shirt in black and white with a Factory purple schoolboy blazer, black matchstick cords, and gold belt. Fun to see how many others are wearing the hearthrob pattern today!

  10. Joining the hundreds of other JCAs wearing an iteration of the heartthrob print (because if you can't wear your one heart print item on Valentine's day, even if you don't celebrate the day, when can you?) :)

  11. Fun! No heartthrob print for me. I own the Heart Me sweater in black and camel, but today I decided to go with the Talitha Blouse in Vintage Berry (Item 58742) and a pair of non-J. Crew navy blue velvet trouser pants. I'm liking the bright pink instead of red choice! Happy Valentine's Day, JCAs.

  12. How fun! It sounds like a bit of a Hearthrob party happening today. :)

I don't have any of the J.Crew heart print items, but I will be wearing a heart print dress from Tory Burch today.

    Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

  13. All of the outfits sound fab!

I am rocking the heartbreaker sweater in lilac with my dark matchsticks. I have a long sleeve white perfect tee under the sweater because it is FREEZING up in here. Right now I have on my LL Bean slippers, but I will wear a burgundy suede wedge, which brings out the burgundy hearts in the sweater. My jewelry is just my diamond studs and a diamond heart necklace from the Hubs (natch.) I teach piano so I can't wear all my bling on the arms and fingers. I get done early tonight. I am so excited to have a glass of wine with my men and have them open up their V day presents. I am such a sap for Valentine's Day. LOL. Have fun, everybody!

  14. I'm actually wearing quite a bit of JC today. I'm going to my kids school to help out w/their Valentine's party, so wanted to be in the spirit! I'm wearing the lightweight flannel shirt in aegean blue over the blue heart-shaped dove t-shirt w/the gramatically incorrect french, lol! (still love this t-shirt). I'm also wearing the JC long necklace w/the pave heart along w/my long Tiffany chain "Return to Tiffany" w/heart shaped pendant. I'm wearing this w/skinny jeans (Joe's) and Madewell's grey Archive boots. It's a favorite outfit of mine, but I think perfect for V-day, even if not traditional red. Still has lots of heart elements!

  15. skipped all of my festive heart print stuff today and went more dressed up for dinner after work. Debuting my gilded brocade capris in aqua with a cream silk cami and the featherweight cashmere short sleeve cardigan in soft peach.

Already got a ton of compliments on the pants! Happy Valentines' day JCAs!

  16. I am waering a ridiculous outfit today, consisting of J.Crew vintage violet matchstick cords, red juliets, J.Crew sample purple silk charmeuse long sleeve blouse with tiny white polka dots, and huge kate spade pink/red beaded necklace. Why the hell not!? We don't really do valentine's day, but I love any excuse to dress in all my fun, bright clothing.

  17. I am wearing my bright pink Lucille dress with a black cashmere cardigan and some arm candy as well - pave link bracelet and hot pink enamel bracelet among others and the factory version of the venus fly trap necklace. I'm glad I chose pink since everyone seems to be in red today and I have to say I'm impressed at the amount of pink and red ties around the office...nice to see the guys getting in the spirit as well :)

  18. In true cat lady fashion, I eschewed hearts for cat prints today, haha.

I wore my Heart Me on Tuesday and confused everyone in my office!

  19. Jessy that sounds so pretty. I want those mint brocade capris.
Alexis your outfit is so cute! I need more gingham shirts so keep em coming Jcrew.

I never made it to the heartthrob party so I'm wearing the teal & pink heart me sweater, the neon pink gungham boy shirt , hot pink enamel bangle and black crop pants with a small gold/diamond heart pendant that was the first gift my hubs got me when we were dating.
Love hearing all the cute outfit ideas. Happy valentines day to all JCAs!

  20. I'm wearing the chiffon top in the light pinkish colour and my red no. 2 pencil skirt. In a sea of people dressed in black, white and gray in the frozen north, I am sticking out for sure and getting lots of comments! All good ones! :)

  21. Red jeans from Banana, the heartease shirt from Factory, and the Heartease sweater (Gah. I get these names all mixed up. Anyway, the red and black print heart shirt, and the grey, navy and white heart sweater). I'll throw a pink coat over it all in the evening.

I know that sounds clownish to those who don't like the JCrew clown look. But I'm afraid it suits my style.

  22. Love all these outfits! I’m wearing my heart me sweater in gray/blue with the bright dahlia cafĆ© capri pants and my go-to silver hoop earrings. I was thinking of wearing my classic mini in felted wool in bright fuchsia, but that probably is a tad too short for work. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

    3. I also have the red/orange heart sweater from the factory! I am wearing it with the gingham flannel shirt in smoky coral, jeans, navy cece's and my Voz wooden bangles from Etsy!

  30. Very late to this - love reading about and picturing these outfits.
I was in hospital on 14th having surgery for a torn tendon in my ankle. I wore a glamourous hospital gown, but managed to put on a red Jackie cardigan after recovery!

    1. ruth: I hope your recovery is going well after your surgery. Glad to hear you were still able to wear a little bit of red and J.Crew even though you spent the day in the hospital. Take care!

    2. Thanks so much FFM! I'll be on crutches for 6 weeks or so, but am cheering myself up by making up my dream J Crew shopping list and reading heaps.
I made a small J Crew order, too

  31. I feel like I will spend all the holidays and Christmas and New Year's and Valentine's Day alone, because everyone has abandoned me. I feel like I'm about to get depressed.
