J.Crew Email: A surprise is inside your November catalog...

"Thanks!" to so many of you who let us know that the latest catalog sent may have a unique promotional code (for something like 20% off on any order, free shipping with no minimum, or $20 off a certain amount).

Another "thanks!" to Mary who shared the email above that J.Crew sent her which announces this news too. (I have never seen this type of email before!) On an interesting note, Mary did receive the November catalog from J.Crew. What wasn't there? A promotional code between pages 20 and 21. Thus, making the email useless. :(

So double-check your catalog to see if you got a unique promo code too! :)

  1. No surprise in between my catalog's pages. :(

  2. I received the email and a code (for the first time!). In months past, I've checked eBay for codes. Many people sell theirs for less than the discount on my order would be.

  3. Guess I'd actually have to get a catalog to see if there's anything in it. Urgh.

  4. As usual, nothing in my catalog... I guess I've spent too much in the past few weeks for them to offer me incentive to shop :(

  5. The good news is that I got a catalogue - the first since July. The bad news is no code.

  6. still waiting for my catalog....here's hoping

  7. I've yet to get a code in one of my catalogs...boo. :(

  8. I also got the email. Then, last night I got my catalog and nothing is in there. RIDICULOUS!

  9. I obviously buy too much, already. None for me.

  10. I haven't even received the November catalog in the mail. I've yet to receive any coupons in them since the EXPIRED (for 10% off?) one since several months ago.

  11. I got my catalog and the 20% off code. I just used it to reorder an item that I got that was defective. Just save a few dollars but was better than nothing. The SA online was surprised I wanted to use it for such a small purchase b/c it is one time use only but it expires soon and I doubt I will be buying anything else. Better to save a few dollars than nothing I thought as with my white card that I never got to the store to use! I am glad this was an online coupon for my sake!

  12. i received a catalog but nothing!

Funny story, I let my mom look at the catalog and she was just flipping through the pages haphazardly and creasing the edges of the pages.. I didn't want to be rude and tell her to be more gentle with the catalog so the whole time she was browsing, I was just cringing at the thought of my now creased catalog! Is it just me or do you ladies like to keep your catalogs in pristine condition too?! I keep all my catalogs like a comic book collection! Hehe

  13. Ashley, you are not the only person who would cringe at the creased pages. I only do that if there are a few pages I want to bookmark and don't want to keep it and that's only after I've looked through it once. :)

I got that email a few days ago and my November catalog yesterday with the code. Now I have to figure out what to get. A coat sounds tempting with this promo on coats today.

  14. What I got in my catalog was pages of the same old fashions I don't want to buy.

  15. ashley,
While I have all my old catalogs dating back to 2001-present--only missing 2 from 2008 which I don't mind... I like to dog ear favorite looks and pages. That way I mark which looks I bought and can find ways to recreate the looks easier.

  16. No code-but I finally got the catalog after months of being on the "no no" list!

  17. No email, no catalog...and I'm a JC cardholder.

I received catalog once in September...

I'm moving next week. I'll stop shoppping and cut all my contact with J Crew. Who knows? I might start receiving catalogs...even the "red card" next time? LOL

  18. No J.Crew catalog yet, they are always late to arrive. I did receive the latest Brooks Brothers outerwear and Boden winter 2010 catalogs though. The Boden one came with a 10% off coupon and lots of pretty items inside. Nice!

  19. Recvd catalog. No coupon. More Charlie Brown-ness from JC.

  20. No matter how many times I try, I can't get them to send me catalogs. Guess I don't fit the marketing profile. Anthropologie/Urban Outfitters, on the other hand, won't STOP sending me catalogs no matter how many times I call.

So, no coupon for me :(

  21. Still waiting for the catalog...

  22. A J.crew catalog hasn't graced my mailbox since 2008--regardless of how many requests for a catalog I submit. :^(

  23. Had a chance to go through the Boden catalog and came across these very J.Crew-esque shoes in the giraffe print. Unfortunately only size 6 & 7 left but I am very impressed to see Boden shoes with leather lining and sole and quite competetively priced.

  24. I received the catalog...but no code.

  25. Got my catalog today and got a code! Yeah:)

  26. No code, but I did get a catalog.

After complaining so often about the lack of promised private sales for cardholders, I feel a little bad about not purchasing now that they are finally running one. But, there is only one item I can justify right now, so I'm not up to the purchase threshold to receive the discount. I'm not going to buy something I don't love love love just to receive 20% off.

  27. I'm waiting to receive the catalog. But I think I spent too much during the white/red card promo that J Crew figures they've got me hooked.

  28. My boyfriend always gets the catalog, and every one from the past year has had a coupon. He always gives them to me, although I rarely use them. The discount is a nice idea, but shipping costs always negate any savings for me.
