Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I just ordered the Madewell Citywalk Lugsole Lace-up boots (NB948) in my normal size but I don't have high hopes for them. I've ordered a few different boots from Madewell this year and they've all been too short and a bit narrow. I would have ordered the Citywalks a half or full size up but they didn't have the sizes in the burgundy color. I have a feeling these will need to go back. Has anyone tried them? There were a few reviews that the zippers in back were difficult or broke, too.

  2. I'll be hitting up the mall this weekend. I HATE going this time of year but I have returns to deal with and I want to do them before I leave for vacation. I might exchange the corduroy pants for a different color (I bought Pale Mocha and I really just don't like it) and I'm returning that rollneck sweater in black because it was way smaller than the blue in the same size. I wound up just reordering it and, fingers crossed, the new one is ok.

    1. @MissJR, did you happen to see the Polar Fleece in the Pale Mocha? Did you not like the actual color? Thank you

    2. i haven't seen the polar fleece. most of my shopping has been online so i don't know how well the two colors actually match up. For me, the color is only so so. it's a kind of caramel color. but, true to jcrew inconsistencies lately, the pants don't fit like the other pairs of vintage straight cords i already have. are you on the FB page? or do you have an email to share? i can send you a photo of the pants in natural light.

    3. @MissJR, thank you so much but I decided after reading your reply about the color I have lost interest. Pity JCrew hasn’t kept up with their old colors which were so much striking.

  4. I finally received Sequin reversible zip-up turtleneck sweater. Item BD614. I think it’s fun but not sure it’s a love or need, my sister loves it on me. Of course I prefer the looser cut of the medium, small prob fits better but it’s fairly short and boxy. The sequins are nice. It’s a lightweight knit, not itchy but the neck is very tight when zipped, so I tried it half zipped with the zipper in the back. I don’t like it with the zipper in the front but will try it over a button down that way.

  5. The cashmere crew neck sweaters were $59.50 in store. BUT not all the colors. I went to grab gray and the sales rep said it wasn't included. But the purple and burgundy colors I bought were.

    1. Cashmere sale in store is nice if you have items on your wishlist. Honeycomb sweater in both colors (blue and ivory) is $129.50; navy/white stripe sweater with front zip is $129.50; navy track suit (jacket and pants $129.50); cashmere fair isle yoke sweater $129.50. Price points are $59.50, $79.50 and $129.50. Store will order online and price match if size isn’t available. Overnight shipping is free.

  6. They vary depending on style. Some like the Parke run small and tight in the shoulders and high in the arms. You really need to try on a variety of styles to figure out how to accommodate your bust.

  7. Hey friends! I'm looking for sizing advice on the tie waist corduroy pants (BA293). The ivory is a great deal, but I also don't want to waste $10 and the website reviews (per usual) are less than helpful in terms of measurements or fit. Thank you!

    1. I wear a size 8/29 at Crew and the medium fit perfectly! I have a small waist and carry weight in my hips and thighs. If you have the opposite proportions they may not fit the best.

  8. I'm 5-2, 30D, and cherish the ecole and aubrey blazers I got from J Crew around 2008 to 2010. I don't love the longer styles that they have been offering over the past ten (!) years. I have one regent, which I wear with slim pants, and one parke, that works over a pencil dress, but otherwise I no longer look for blazers at J Crew. Both the Parke and Regent have narrow arms and shoulders. You might have better luck at Banana Republic, Ann Taylor or maybe Talbots.

  9. I tried on the Double-breasted teddy sherpa topcoat. Item BA528 in store. Posted pics on the FB group.

I thought the adobe clay looked more expensive but the ivory is a better color for me. I also tried the rose color and it felt like a bathrobe my mother in law has. Open they look good but closed the pockets bulge even though it’s not tight. Wearing a heavy, chunky turtleneck, both sizes felt fine but the pockets bug me a little.
It was hard to leave it behind but ultimately I do prefer the shape of the leopard coat.

  10. Speaking of blazers, has anyone seen the double breasted Bristol ones,
Bristol blazer in pink English wool herringbone
    Item BA454
I noticed the length is shorter than the Willa and Sommerset and the description says it has a nipped in waist. Haven’t seen it in my store.

    1. Yes, I bought that blazer in pink back in October (I think). The 00 fit me well, and I like the color. I often wonder if I bought it because the color stood out among all of the drab tones I was seeing. I found the quality to be good. I'm 5'3",
98-100 lbs., 34B. I think my arms might be longer than other people who are my height, and the sleeve length is just fine. It is more nipped in at the waist than the others. The Somerset blazer does not have enough shape for me. I tried it on in the store.
