JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

    1. I love this question! I used to struggle with the same issue and to save my sanity I decided to stick with black. I really think you can’t go wrong with either but I’d think about what bottoms you typically wear and what you would pair on top. Also I see the black has silver buttons and the navy has gold. If you don’t wear a ton of black I do think navy is very versatile and plays well with colors—that’s what Jenna always used to say and Trinny Woodall as well. Please report back.

    2. Go with the navy. More versatile and the gold buttons look far nicer and makes the jacket look even more expensive. Yes, I do know the price. Make sure you get a discount they’re at least 15% with certain retailers. Good luck and and enjoy wearing it.

    3. The gold buttons certainly are more classic and striking. Even I, who hasn’t worn navy In ages would have a tough time choosing the black over navy in this case.
And due to this post I saw a lovely ruby velvet Veronica beard blazer I almost bought but it only has one button, not the six others down the sides of the chest that make the blazer feel more special.
