  2. Not a vent, just wanted to share my love for the new longer wool pencil skirt. Quantity is fantastic - nice thick wool and lining. I can tell my love for an item based on how quickly I plan to wear it and the blue skirt is on deck for tomorrow’s outfit.

I’m also thinking ahead to a lunch I’m hosting for my team in a few weeks and plan to wear the cognac skirt with a black lace top and a white button down underneath.

Liberty shirt in roses is lovely with really feminine details. The wave print shirt is going back.

    Overall, a successful order!

  3. I posted reviews of university Terry half zip and sweatpants and cute hoop earrings I got for my girls on this week’s review Page. All positive.

  4. @liztriden Glad to hear the pencil skirt is nice. I was tempted by the blue, but tend to fear pastel wools if the quality isn't high. Neutrals and darks seem more forgiving of mediocre quality. What are you wearing the blue with?

    1. I really, really love the blue. I anticipated a baby blur but it has a lot more gray in it so it reads more sophisticated. I think I’m going with a blue and pink stripe button down, gray tippi, and the purple floral lace up flats from several years ago.

    2. That sounds like a great outfit, with the purple pop of color.

  5. Here’s my vent, but maybe I’m crazy…
Shoes. There are pretty shoes and there are sneakers and more utilitarian boots, but where is the middle ground?
We walk a lot. I have Nordic boots and the crepe sole version for cold weather but for right now type of weather I want shoes (not boots) I can walk a few miles in comfortably. I’ve bought several pairs elsewhere because jcrew doesn’t have this type of shoe that’s not a boot.
Chunky/lug sole loafers and oxfords are everywhere except jcrew it seems!

  6. a day late: toothpick jeans

i've tried a few different washes of the recent toothpick jeans and they all seem really tight and stretchy.... which sounds like it should be a good thing but they feel more jegging than toothpick jeans somehow... and i'm really disappointed.

    1. I’m uncomfortable even reading that. I loved my Everlane authentic stretch skinny jeans…but I can’t even force myself to put those on anymore.
