J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. In mid March I purchased Item AV819, the Tall slim wide-leg jean in khaki stripe. It's very soft and very nice material. I also purchased item AW686, the Classic-fit cozy gauze shirt. Believe it or not but I have never purchased a white shirt from J.Crew and I do most of my shopping there. I went down a size. I see this as a Spring/Fall shirt. I plan on getting another color too. The price for this shirt with today's promo is not a good as the previous promo. I paid $35.80 in early March. This included the cardholder promo. I haven't been as satisfied with my purchases in awhile. I also bought some girlfriend tees from Factory for sitting around the house. They're nice and thick.

  2. Today’s Instastories show a woman, Freddie Harrel, and her business, RadSwan. She looks really cute and I love the dress she has on. Scroll down to see it linked and... whomp whomp. I understand the promotion of her and her business, but you’d think they’d wait until the item she has on is actually listed online. It’s like nobody talks to each other over at JCrew 🤷🏻‍♀️.

    1. It's AW958. It is kind of cute, and if the photos are true it is shaped so it will fit the waist without being tight across the hips and bust. Comes in black too.

    2. But watching the model videos, I'm seeing a cling issue at thigh level. If it shows on a slender model, I'm thinking this is not the material for me.

    3. Thanks @pbanos! I agree, the model videos seem clingy, but I think it photographed differently on Freddie (not as thigh skimming?). I liked the sleeve and it reminded me of a sleeveless version from a few years back, with less worry about a bra strap making its debut.

    4. Maybe they had her size way up because she’s pregnant.

    5. I wouldn't want to wind up like this:

"Looks like two pigs fighting under a blanket." Steel Magnolias

    6. @Suz that’s a possibility. Me being pregnant again...not a possibility lol.

  3. My pre-order of camera bag in Liberty print (AW085) finally arrived today. Like the web reviewer, I also did not realize it would be fabric (though now I think about it, what else would it be?) and had thought it would perhaps be "laminated" fabric. A bit torn as I love the print but being liberty print (very fine/delicate) I'm scared the bag will rub against my jeans/pants and stain/torn easily.

    2. I also was going to order this, at some point, and totally assumed it was leather! Thank you for confirming that it is NOT. I made the same mistake with the Liberty loafers. I checked the description carefully before I ordered to make sure it WASN'T fabric, but it said only leather upper, leather lining. JC has since changed the description to FABRIC upper. But since I got them for under $50, I think I will keep them anyway, although, like you, I am really worried about staining and tearing.

  4. Bennet unstructured leather loafers are on super sale for $60, with an additional 50% off ($30), and an additional 20% off for cardholders ($24).

These are truly a steal. I had a pair from earlier this year, and they are so very comfortable. I think they are kind of just okay looking, although online reviewers seem to love. Mostly, for me, they go with everything and are, like I said, just so comfortable.

Don't get me wrong, for $30, these are NOT Paul Green (my favorite shoe brand)comfortable, as the sole is pretty thin, but as a result, they are also less chunky looking which is often a good thing, and for 1/10th of the price, definitely worth checking out...

    1. Agreed Audrey, nice house shoes for me where the thin sole is a benefit. Comfortable and I really like shape. With the high vamp they almost work like a flat bootie under floor length pants.

I wore my navy pair to WFH today with navy pixies and a cashmere sweater. All JCrew and very happy.
