Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Thanks to increased discount of 50% off sale items, I placed an embarrassingly large order this morning. The sales section had increased and final sales seemed to be gone (at least there were on the items I ordered). I was proud of myself for removing a $60 Liberty dress from the cart but didn't say no to much else. I did so well for most of August (thanks to J Crew not extending their promotions to Canada) but have now placed 3 orders in 3 days. Even with the $12 shipping per order the deals are too hard for me to resist.

  3. Glad to hear Canadians can finally get in on the sales fun. I'm sitting out of this one - browsed through but not finding anything I haven't already bought at the same/lower price. I did notice that the princess mini skirt comes in different colors now and they're on sale. That's a great skirt (if you get the tall size) and I like the new colors!

    1. Saw that too! But I already have two of them in Tall (pink and ivory) and can't wear one more skirt.

  4. I am considering the Classic-fit boy shirt in mini buffalo check in the vibrant red. Does anyone know if it's red and black check, or is it red and dark navy check?

  6. I am planning to visit this weekend. My few orders arrived and unfortunately the black/white loafers are going back - I ordered my usual JC size which fit in length but the elastic on the slingback is incredibly scratchy and hits my foot at a really uncomfortable point so I'm not going to fuss with them, they're going back. The square neck tee in a small is perfect, just enough smaller than the medium to fit like I want it to and I appreciate the longer length as well.

The black tie shirt dress in l/s is going back too - reviews all said it ran super small and it does - I could barely get the 8 on so probably need a 10.

I perused sale this morning, had a few things in my cart but they were all gone when I went back to purchase which is fine, I'll hold out for now. I said it before and will say it again, I'm surprised at how high the prices are on some of the summer items, hopefully they will attempt to clear more out this weekend.

    1. We get out at 1 today (bye-bye summer hours!) and I am headed up there to do returns.

Also cannot believe the prices. I generally have a few things with tags to look forward to next year, but if none of those tags read J. Crew c'est la vie!

    2. As soon as I saw the Full-length easy pant in botanical cheetah print online it was love at first sight & immediately ordered them. They arrived today and what a big disappointment, the silk fabric is extremely thin, nothing in the construction to hold their shape, they look cheap, have a high rise which made them a unflattering fit. At $138 I expected a substantial fabric, I don’t know what Jcrew is thinking. These are going back & I’m going to wait for a promo on the blouse as the print is gorgeous. Don’t waste your money on these pants.

  7. Hi all, sorry I went MIA for the last few months. I've been reading, but haven't commented even though my shopping continues. Haha!

I know there was a post recently about most loved/used/worn recent items. One I've loved lately is my chambray peplum shirt. It's been great for the hot outside and cool AC inside temps. I also just got the dreamy camo jogger pants and they're two thumbs up. It's the same fabric as the other dreamy items and they even have pockets.

In other news, I've recently become a fan of ThredUp. I've gotten some Collection items and other older Crew items (circa 2011) that are NWT for under $30 a piece. It's tough because they won't list the item number or true name of the piece, but if you know your Crew (like I know y'all do!) you can easily discern what the item is. If you're interested, here's a referral link http://www.thredup.com/r/QOBXA1

    Wishing everyone a great weekend!

  8. Has anyone else had issues with their rewards balances? I’ve been at $120 for at least a few months and suddenly it’s $90 today with zero explanation of activity in my transactional history. I’d assume points expired, but to just drop $30 and not show it as a line item in my account activity is INCREDIBLY shady. FWIW, none of this would be an issue if they were selling things I actually wanted to purchase on a consistent (key word) basis, but that’s a conversation for another day ;)

    1. This happened to me too. If u wait a day of two it should go back to the original amount,it seems they have website issues.
Mine went from $25 to $10 and back to $25.

    2. Actually, mine went down by about $30 a month ago and never went back up.

    3. Sometimes, your account is awarded the points based on a purchase 30 days ago, but since you have 30 days from ship date to return it, you can lose points/rewards after a return. I've been confused by that because I figured the points would be a wash and wouldn't have been rewarded before the return date had passed. But I've also had rewards randomly disappear and then bounce back later for seemingly no reason as Ina describes.

    4. If you read the tiny font in the section about Rewards, it says that points expire after 1 year. Since the Rewards program started about a year ago, I'm guessing that is what happened to you. I also has a high amount due to not wanting to waste them on something that might be returned, but I happened to see the wording and so hurriedly bought a duplicate of some jeans, figuring that was a safe bet. You might want to find something to purchase soon before another drop in your amount.

  9. I keep checking but haven’t bought a thing! Oh well, off to check again.
I gave my daughter my white Seavees expecting to be able to get another pair of white sneakers but the sneakers aren’t included in promo.

    1. Did you test it out? The sale sneakers do not have the banners, but the discount does apply. I was looking at a pair of liberty sneakers and then good sense took hold and I didn't do it.

  10. Pricing is so crazy. I bought the Liberty Kayoko faux wrap dress for 109.99 Cdn (less 50%). Today, I see it for $335.50 Cdn (less 50%).

    1. actually, it's $335.50 less 40%!

    2. That’s crazy! I bought that dress in July I think for $50ish. I really like it except if I move my arms a lot (ie wore it at home with my kids and doing lots of laundry etc) it chafes around my arm/the material rubs it uncomfortably which I’ve never had happen with any dress before.

  11. My pleated skirt obsession continues. Nordstrom has a patterned version of the newest pleated skirt. It’s a bright coral and tan leopard pattern. Worried about the shine factor (which was the reason I returned the retail one - you could see every lump and bump, including shirts tucked in) but hopefully the pattern disguises those issues. Cute take on leopard. Could be redundant with my leopard shirtdress but that hasn’t stopped me before lol!!

    1. I really like the pleated skirt in warm sun from the summer. I get compliments when I wear it. Love it except for the static from the poly.

  12. I went to make some returns, but using this comment as a review post. Plaid Gwen slides with bow- I took smaller of my 2 shoe sizes (8 in Ceces, 7.5 in Dulcis and Gemmas, took a 7.5 in these as I was slipping out of the 8s). I wish these were real flats with a back, but otherwise think they're super cute. Re-ordered with my rewards dollars.
Dutch Floral dress- Love. Beautiful print. Bought the regular S and petite S, I preferred the knee-length in the petite S but it was way short-waisted on me so I'm keeping the regular. It's a good midi length on me at 5'4". Only wish it had pockets, then it would be the perfect dress!
Dutch floral mockneck top- Found it a bit on the large size, both in the neck and the body in my usual S but didn't order an XS to see if I could size down. Although I like cool tones I think the pattern goes better with the pink than the blue (ordered both colorways). I found the buttons in back a bit fiddly and was worried I'd eventually fray the fabric covering the buttons. Since I love the dress in the same pattern (and prefer the smaller scale of the print on the dress too), the decision to return these was easy.
Mockneck Cable Knit Sweater- I'd say I'm in the middle of the itchy tolerance scale and found this pretty soft and comfortable, where I wouldn't need to layer it to tolerate it. The body was just slightly oversized, not terribly boxy, but the sleeves were way too wide, so it was a return for me.
At Nordstrom the pleated midi skirt comes in a pretty abstract leopard with navy, camel, coral pink, and white. Liked the pattern, dislike the skirt.

  13. I received the few items I ordered while in the US last week and am very pleased with the Denim Pencil skirt and the Scribble bikini pieces. I visited the Columbus Circle and 5th Ave stores while I was in NYC, my first store visits since November 2018. Although initially excited to pop in, my eyes kind of glazed over pretty quickly. There just wasn’t anything of interest, no pieces that made me stop and stare. After months of not buying J.Crew due to high shipping costs, I found I had lost interest rather than having any pent up demand.

  14. Argh. Website is now saying "extra 60% off sale styles".... but when you enter the code (sunset) at checkout, it's still doing the 50% off. sigh. don't feel like contacting CS over it. Hopefully they will get it straightened out at some point today.

    1. No sign of ANY thing at 60% off on my phone, computer or iPad. Maybe at 12am? There are about 1300 items left so maybe someone else saw the extra discount and has cleaned up. Sadly it wasn't me!

    3. And just like that, the 60% sign showed up. Whether it is an additional 50% or 60%, there is not much left for me, maybe a bag or sunglasses. Although there were several pieces that showed up in the sale section that I have not seen in a long time.
