Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. What do the JA's think about the collection beaded skirt:

I've had this on my wish list for quite a while, but am afraid to actually spend the $$'s I liked the not over the top look, and could see it with a simple black sweater or silk blouse. In the cold weather with knee high boots, or black pumps, depending.

    1. It always catches my eye in the sale section but the price tag is scary considering I've never seen it IRL and it's now final sale. I've not had good luck in the past with buying sequined items from JC sale section - things are always frayed/falling off/trailing beads and sequins everywhere. But if you have the occasion(s) to wear it and the $ (even at 1/2 off it's still too pricey for me as half of an ensemble), go for it!

    2. Well I'd have to wear it in a casual way, I guess. But thinking it would work casual since its not solid sequins. If there were any falling off beads I would return immediately - hopefully Collection is better quality? It's 60% off, plus I have an extra 15% code - so still $$$'s but the lowest I've seen.

    3. I think it’s pretty and different, I hate how it’s styled and how you describe is how I’d wear it too, but I couldn’t see it even for $275 ish.
      But that’s me.
I’d spend that money on boots, a special coat, or leather pants, but I’m cheap and my lifestyle is very casual,

  2. Has anyone seen the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog? I forgot what I was looking at when I started paging through it. The looks and pieces on the first few pages (and some further in) looked like a modern version of an old school J. Crew catalog, if that makes sense! Bright winter coats, pullovers, and bags, and some tweedy, preppy/modern looks. I could compare it to a J. Crew catalog if they ever sent me one.

    1. Nordstrom didn't send me a catalog this year. Heard the catalogs are available at the store so I might walk up there at lunchtime to grab one. Prefer looking at the actual paper catalog instead of trying to look at it online. I'm old school!

    2. I'm old school too! I used to be so happy when I'd go to a J. Crew store and they'd let me have a catalog a day or two early. It was fun flipping through it and planning what to buy. I don't know why I get Nordstrom catalogs. I don't order that much or that often. I was a little surprised to see the anniversary sale one, since I am not eligible for any early access to it and don't have any Nordstrom cards.

    3. I LOVED when a SA would go in back and sneak me an early catalog at J Crew! Never ever did I think they’d do away with the catalog. This year, early access at Nordstrom starts on my birthday. I may stop in and see if there is anything worth treating myself to. I’ve had their credit card forever and am kind of shocked I didn’t receive a catalog this year. 😡

    4. Oh man, just looked through the Nordstrom anniversary sale catalog that I picked up. Nothing for me. It is so disappointing. Definitely not like they used to be!

  4. Has anyone tried the Cora slide sandals with rubber bottom in suede? Reviews are either awful or great. I really like this style and always find slides like this comfy but the reviews have me hesitating to pull the trigger.

  5. I did bite today on a few items I had been thinking about. Not thrilled about final sale though...
J3964 Bead and stone earrings. I saw these in store and they’re pretty. A little heavy but fine for special event earrings. I’ll wear them with all black or even a white shirt.
L7582 Point sur scalloped trim top. I got black. This will be perfect with cotton shorts and my wide leg chinos.
L6143 bit the bullet on the Bristol fanny pack in bright cerise. It has card slots and should hold my phone and a lipgloss. Glasses would be a bonus. A reviewer said it also held a passport.

    1. I bought a few J Crew things from Nordstrom Rack - super low prices and NOT final sale. Really want but don’t need the dot jeans but never tried on and I absolutely won’t do final sale on pants/jeans. I would only bite on those if the price was $20; they are still over $100 before the discount.

    2. I haven’t found anything I wanted from Crew at Rack, unfortunately, and haven’t found the prices as good as sale on the Jcrew site. I agree with you on not buying pants Final sale unless it’s something I’ve already tried on. Not worth the risk.
With the new PA policy I’m trying to be careful about shopping.

    3. I'd been wanting the navy Tippi with the Liberty collar and I got it from Rack for $29.97. Also bought a sequin Jackie for the same price to give as a gift. I lucked out earlier in the spring scoring a navy Jackie for $14. I always need backups of the basic colors because they get worn so much.

    4. I saw that Tippi and the yellow sequin Jackie yesterday on the rack website and was so tempted! It’s so hot I find it hard to think about sweaters though but the prices were so good. I love my gray Tippi with the Liberty collar. It is so versatile and warms my preppy heart.

    5. I have the gray Tippi w/Liberty collar, too! I’m just a sucker for anything Liberty. The prices were great and if I change my mind I have 45 days to return. Was at the store today to return a pair of shoes and the sale section was a whopping extra 20% off AND final sale. Not tempted in the least bit.

  6. Magic hour, so 60% off is still working and no final sale. Ordered a few things I wanted to try.

    1. Wish I had seen this because my jumpsuit popped back in my size. Sucks for me but glad someone got a deal. Good luck with your finds!

  7. I received the Nordstrom pamphlet...oops, catalog, and as much as I am a Nordy's lover of all things Nordstrom (everyday, all day), you didn't miss much if you didn't receive one. I was more disappointed this year than I was last year because I thought that they would have improved after so many complaints about last year's changes
