Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I stopped by Rockefeller Center on Saturday afternoon for returns. Sale was +40% off and there was a whole wall of sale shoes. Didn’t bother looking around after my returns since everything was the same on those racks for months now. Glad I went when I did because a few hours later and I would have been stuck there during the blackout.

  2. I stopped in to pay my bill but I didn't really look around. Previously I had tried on the classic button-front midi sundress in contrast embroidered eyelet (L6056) in yellow sun and black. I agree with one of the reviews that the black has a strong chemical smell. The yellow sun looks nice but I just didn't love the dress. The straps are adjustable which is always nice. Sometimes with tall dresses the waist is too high. Quality is good though. I did wander into Madewell where I purchased the Foretell Bolo Necklace (H0483). Just like J.Crew, the price on the sticker was not the accurate sale price. I've never understood why the stickers aren't up to date in the sale section but whatever.

  3. No visit for me. The apron dress arrived Saturday and it is a return. The open back is a total dealbreaker - I was hopeful that it would be doable but there is no option to wear a bra without it being completely visible. I ordered a 6 which is the smaller of my two sizes and the arm holes are still big despite it being a little tight in the chest. The waist band also is cut high so was on the verge of cutting off my chest in the wrong spot. The pockets in the front gape open exactly like an apron - not a good look. It could have been a much cuter dress had the details been right - the length was right below my knee and I like the fuller skirt but I'm not going to try and make it work even for the price. Back it goes!

  4. I only visit when I have returns. I did purchase 6 pairs of the Peyton linen pant which were on promotion today. 3 colors each in two sizes. Also purchased the white bf jeans in my regular size 25. Hope they fit as usual. Waiting on the two straw hats I purchased during their “flash sale” last week. Received the snake pointed toe flat sling back and am glad my usual size fit. Waiting to see if the tall snake boots which were cancelled on me months ago and popped back a half size smaller actually ship.

    1. I like the snake print too. I have the mules and the Chelsea booties. Good luck the boots.

  5. Had bought a skirt for my mom and it was too big. Went to exchange it for a smaller size. SA said it was final sale and no exchange. I wasn't asking for my money back, just a smaller skirt which was available. She said if I wanted a smaller size, I would have to buy it. I shudder to think of how much I've spent on J. Crew in the last fifteen years. My mom noted the SA's rudeness and asked that I not get her anything else from the store.

    1. I would call, email, etc and raise hell for that. Rudeness is not acceptable and neither are stupid return policies.

    2. Inconsistent policies! Someone else bought a final sale skirt and was able to exchange for a different size without problem! Ridiculous!

    4. I would also escalate that complaint. There is no reason why they can't swap out sizes; we have all seen it done regularly. I have gotten the best and fast service by contacting J. Crew via Instagram DM lately. Please let us know how you make out with this.

    5. I'd just call CS and 'nice' it up without mentioning what happened in the store. Say how disappointed Mom is, because she loves the skirt but can't wear it...is there any chance we can exchange? Resort to begging if 'nice' fails and then save complaining for last.

    6. I'm very sorry for your hassle and disappointment, Elizabeth. I hope you will report back, and I hope you are able to get the exchange you need. I had a similar experience recently that for me sounded the final death knell of the brand. I also purchased something final sale as a gift, and it arrived shipped from a store in no condition to be given as a gift. To add insult to injury, I had paid additional for expedited shipping. I spoke with a CS supervisor who would not budge on a single request. No return, no shipping refund, no expedited shipping on a replacement gift for the party that was just two days away at that point. I had a similar reaction to your mother. As much as it pains me, because JCrew has been the backbone of my wardrobe for years in terms of style and fit, I am thinking I will not be able to continue to shop a brand that does not stand behind their product to the point of defying all logic and common sense (as well as common courtesy). I realize others have gotten different responses from JCrew in similar situations. I am not a serial returner or complainer so there should have been no "note" in my account that would have sparked such a refusal. I am baffled and wish them luck, because they surely need it. I think bankruptcy is just around the corner, if they need to keep my money that badly at the cost of losing me as a customer entirely.

    7. Thanks, I think we're going to take it to the dry cleaner, have the skirt fixed and my mom doesn't want any more J. Crew clothes, which is too bad because I'd been buying a lot for her. Going to the store was supposed to be a treat, I sure didn't expect what happened.

    8. Corry, I'm so sorry. I hardly return anything because I've bought so much J. Crew, I know what sizes, etc. to get. Being bluntly told to buy another skirt left me shocked. This was my second J. Crew too because I didn't know they had closed the closer one. It was the weekend in a busy mall and the store was practically empty. Even then I saw a couple of things I liked as we came in but of course I didn't buy them, we just left. Maybe the SAs are angry. Maybe J. Crew is just demanding very restrictive policies. Whatever the case, J. Crew is the only store I ever wrote a letter to and actually received a response from Mickey. I would go through their catalog and my heart would flutter. After this weekend, my mom will never understand why I have three white baskets of J. Crew catalogs going back to 2004.

    9. Oh, gee, Elizabeth, that is sad -- "going to the store was supposed to be a treat." I feel badly for you and your mother.
That's what J Crew always was for me: a treat. I always felt so good in the clothes, especially in my town, a place where few people wear them.
I surely miss the old store, the one I loved, the one that I trusted. I knew if I needed clothes or gifts, I could find them there.

  6. I just did my monthly spending analysis and this May and June (basically since they began enforcing the PA policy) I spent half the amount I did last May and June. In general, so far I've spent less this year than the same time last year. Though to be fair, I'm not spending more at other clothing stores - it seems like I'm just buying less. (why doesn't my closet feel this way though!?!?)

  7. I want to have a Dry cleaner so I search for some relevant information in googles especially in blogs or articles to find more details and considering to avail this kind of service.
