Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'm going to try on a dress, the Tall scoopneck midi dress with eyelet trim in organic cotton (L7717), that is ready for pickup. I also have to pickup two items from Madewell: the Tall Denim Seamed Wide-Leg Jumpsuit in Saville Wash (L4465) and the Hi-Fi Shrunken Tee in Placed Stripe (L2820). I hope everything works out.

  2. No visit - 60% off sale online, so I ordered a pair of $2 socks, but nothing else. Tired of JC until fall, Madewell got my clothing $ this month.

  3. I'm visiting to return two pair of pants for my husband that I repurchased with the 60% off sale due to no price adjustments. With the money saved I ordered him a tech polo and another pair of pants. Plus 2 pair of $2 socks.
Hope I don't regret it, but I did order the Gola high tops in liberty. I have too many sneakers now, so not sure if I can stand another pair. But the $18.36 price kinda sucked me in. I won't wear them in summer, since I prefer long pants with high tops. But they would be good with jeans in the fall.

    1. What size did you get in the Golas. One reviewer said their 8 is a 39 so I didn’t want to take a chance on a 9 if it was really a ten.

      Delete
    2. Well I read reviews around the net first, so I went with my usual 10. If they had 91/2 I would have done that, but 9 no way. I'd say if you are a half size you could go down.

    3. Thanks for posting this, pbanos. I just ordered the Gola high top sneakers with Liberty trim, too. With $15 in rewards they were almost free. I already own the Gola low top tennis sneakers in Liberty and I really like them. I purchased them at FULL PRICE, which is extremely rare for me. I rationalized that applying $35 in rewards made it ok, lol.

    4. Glad you got such a great deal then! Makes me feel better about the final sale if you like the low tops so well. I have the Tretorn Liberty low sneaks & they are perfect.

  4. 60% off final sale.
Just ordered the Ratti Kaleidescope blouse for $22 if anyone has been waiting for the price to drop (so glad I didn't miss this one!). Also got the flamingo tee for $14.40 because I cannot resist anything J. Crew embroiders and wish I still had all of my old critter capris and skirts.

    1. Such a fun print! If only it was a perfect shirt fit...

    2. I agree. I sized up since I love it and will hope for the best!

    3. Agree with pbanos, I would have kept it if it was a perfect fit shirt. Absolutely love the print but felt a little Partridge Family Bus when I tried it on. For $22 though . . . .

  5. I've had 3 pairs of shorts in my cart for almost two months and any time I remember to go look at my cart and maybe buy them, they're always full price and excluded from the current promo. My cart is $150, for 3 pairs of drawstring cotton shorts, baffling! I refuse to buy them for $50 apiece. I'm sure they've been in a promo at some point, but I'm not watching my J. Crew cart closely and I think it's silly that I even need to. Pricing games.

  6. I’m continuing my buying and purging cycle.
Just ordered the CAPTOE espadrilles which I wanted when I first saw them, they’re somehow not final sale so I tried two sizes.
Passing on to my girls a bunch of items I bought on sale that they will wear more than I will. Velvet mockneck tank, striped rugby in black and white, white Seavees, etc.
I realize I prefer the thrill of the hunt more than the actual items in many cases so I’m glad to have daughters who share my size.

    1. Great purchase on the captoes. I can see them really fitting into your wardrobe.
Thrill of the hunt. It's my hobby. Sigh.

    3. I've been looking at those espadrilles forever! They look cute. Chanel vibes even!

      Delete
    4. I hope they fit. Sometimes flat espadrilles feel too flat. I tried soludos and didn’t get them because of that.

  7. I ordered two things, both didn't show up as final sale?
Pointed-toe woven flats with ankle strap - took a half size smaller due to reviews and my size sold out while I was browsing. I remember liking these when they came out and I swore I put them on my wishlist. Didn't see them again until I noticed they were in the sale section today.
The Reeds X J.Crew anchor collar sleeveless sweater - didn't see this at all when it first came out. Not a huge fan of the Reeds collab, but this is cute and I'm surprised it's not FS.

    1. I like those shoes. I am tempted by the white but I cannot tell if the contrast leather is navy or black. Do you know?

      Delete
    2. I think the contrast is brown and black?

      Delete
    3. On the white shoes? I thought it was navy and red or black and red.
On the black shoes it’s white and brown I can tell.
Vent: when there’s a contrasting color I wish they would specify as screens show colors differently and it’s impossible to tell!

      Delete
    4. I don't know why but on my phone the white looks like it's contrasted with brown and black! But on my desktop, it looks like brick red and navy. I was fine with either of those colorways, so I pushed the button without thinking too much!

      Delete
    5. You will def have to report back. I’m going to check on my phone now. 😂

      Delete
    6. On my phone is looked like a rusty brown and black, but when I looked at the iPad it looked the same but brick red and navy. I guess it’s the warmth of the screen calibration and who knows which is correct?!

  8. Suz I'm right there with you on the 'thrill of the hunt'. Too many times I stalk an item waiting for a promo and sale. When it finally arrives I often am okay with it but not excited and thrilled. Then I'm off on another retail hunt.

    2. I've taken on my husbands wardrobe, plus the step kids.

My latest find was the Ludlow Wool/Linen suit for my husband. I returned the unstructured Ludlow linen suit. The wool/linen suit appeared at a very low price that only lasted one morning. Even at today's sale it's more, and his size would be gone anyway.

It's fun to see him wearing color (!) and pants that fit, and stylish jackets.

    2. I do but also have way too many jeans. I put my skinny jeans away for summer because I don’t find them comfortable in warmer weather and I have my (cough cough) favorite boyfriend jeans (cough cough) that I’m trying to wear less frequently.

  10. I bought the black crepe wrap dress for $20 and the black straw circle bag which wasn't showing up as final sale. Tried to get the long sleeve black shirt dress but it sold out before I could check out. Reviews said it ran small though so not 100% on sizing.

I, too have been trying to clean out and it seems like a neverending process since I also keep buying but I don't think nearly as much.

I may stop in this weekend as I do have returns - the black paper bag shorts in a small came and while they fit my midsection better than my medium navy ones, they are too skimpy for my liking. I also tried the denim pencil skirt in frosty sky wash and it doesn't fit me right at all.

    ReplyDelete

    1. The denim pencil skirts are a tiny bit snug in the hips, I'm still undecided about my $12.50 one...sadly there is no size 27 left.

  11. I'm going to return the NB x JC cruz knit sneakers today, and the lavendar floral embroidered pocket tee. I don't love how the knit feels on the sneakers, and the lavendar tee feels like a Hanes tee with embroidery. I have not had success with JC tees lately - I recently returned the new cat tee as well. I thought I'd get more use out of the lavendar tee since it can be work appropriate but it still looks too casual for my liking.

    1. I keep looking at those knit sneakers, but I know I'd hate them. IME stretchy shoes are far less comfortable IRL than I expect them to be.

      Delete
    2. @Jeanne - yes me too! I had my eye on them for awhile and when the price was good I hit the button. But even wearing them around the house the knit feels funny. Kind of like they could just come off even though they're the right size. I don't trust the stretchy fabric.

      Delete
    3. Eeps, that was my experience with stretchy shoes, too. Even though I had them tied securely, they felt like they might fall off and I kept tripping in them because they constantly shifted slightly when I was walking.

  12. Really good 50% off flash sale. Some brand new items are included, like the snake print Tippi. For any perfect fit tee lovers out there, they are also 50% off (stripes & solids). The solid rain jackets are included in the 50% off sale.

  13. I caved and bought the cerise driving mocs for $28. I had previously purchased the lilac ones for $15 and love them. I’ve been watching the cerise pair for awhile & decided they probably won’t go lower.
I’m bummed I missed the flash sale is this something new for Jcrew?

    1. I don't think they ever went lower than around $25. They are more red than the typical 'cerise' for J Crew.

  14. I’m headed in for returns, including some new arrivals that came yesterday. I’m returning the tie waist blouse in white - it’s too see through for my liking (also returning the Madewell central shirt - the hunt for a white shirt continues). Misses from new arrivals: short sleeve eyelet blouse. The review is right- the cuff is extremely tight. The white is completely see through. Just yuck all around. The pink billow sleeve eyelet top is going back too. The buttons are structured much like the Pom dress with a inadequate placket (not sure if that’s the right word) doesn’t cover all the way across your bust. So with every movement there are huge gaps. I took the Pom dress to my tailor to sew down and that worked perfectly (and I’ve worn both the ikat and white version constantly all summer) but this top isn’t worth the trouble. Pretty color but a meh feeling about it.

Keepers: navy leopard shirt dress is an absolute love!! It was hard for me to pick one midi dress from the rollout to try but I’m glad I ended up with this one. So flattering and the pattern is just stunning. I contemplated the pink tiger print but thought it might be too much so settled on that skirt. It’s on backorder until the end of August.

I also love the paisley button down. The print is gorgeous!!! Slim fitting so my gut to size up was right.

Last thing I’m keeping is the shadow floral midi skirt. I told myself that I don’t need another pleated skirt but this one was just too pretty to pass up. Even better in person. The darker color is a mix between gray and navy. Will look great with a pop of color or a white shirt - if I can find one!

I’m still interested in the color block Mary Jane flats.

    1. Hi Liztriden, thank you for the reviews! That’s too bad about the short sleeve eyelet top but thank you for saving me a return! Glad to hear you found some keepers.

  15. For some reason the embroidered shirtdress (white with beading) always seems hidden on the site. If anyone was interested, if you search it on google the link takes you to it on Jcrew website and there are a few sizes available, it’s currently on sale so the extra 60% should apply. I think it’s tts to slightly loose. I could only find one size up but it still works ok for me. HTH

  16. Insomnia (aka is my 23 yo home) caused me to check in the wee morning hours and buy some items that are a little out of my usual comfort zone.
Black sweater tank popped back in a medium. I should be a small but decided to try it.
Leather backpack in pink, black and white. Could be good as my airplane personal item.
Embroidered flutter sleeve top...ok, could be cute or a disaster depending on how fluttery the sleeves are. More boho than my usual.
    Espadrille sneakers.
Nothing showed up final sale. If it did I wouldn’t have pulled the trigger.

    1. I have the Harper backpack in black, it's fairly large & would be fine for travel. I loved the colorblock one, but it was not on sale when I bought the black. The bottom and straps are black, so they will not get dirty looking.

      Delete
    2. I figured since I’m typically in all black, maybe with some white mixed in for travel, this will match everything. I will compare it to my longhcamp I use as a personal item to make sure it holds a comparable amount. I wanted to monogram but will wait until I get it to decide. Maybe I’ll buy a tag and monogram that instead.

      Delete
    3. True, you should always match it. I like a backpack better than a tote, since items are more secure. Plus you can carry it hands free if there is a lot of walking.

  17. Went to store last night for returns.
no additional % off sale ( didn't ask if they would match it though)
    saw some new arrivals

Puff sleeve pullover T-shirt in terry cotton. it is wide with huge sleeves
Crewneck pullover in vintage cotton terry. very short and wide/ pretty colours though
Mockneck embroidered blouse. only in white. very frilly IMO
Tie-waist short-sleeve dress in leopard.this style of dress is horrrible on me
Open V-neck cotton poplin top in Ratti® grandi fiori. dislike this style of popover.don't care for the way it crosses over. i prefer the half way button up style. very bright print if that is what you like.
Vancouver store (the only one now) didn't have much else new...but I could have missed it because everything is all over the place. t shirts tucked away here and there...you need to cover the the whole floor..and i was not into to it.maybe another time.

  18. Well the J.Crew nearest to me right now is in Canada, so I won't be making the road trip this weekend to visit. I am, however, contemplating some online shopping at Madewell from their Fall LookBook Sneak Peek that they sent out to Insider Members. I blogged about what I'm loving, and also shared a link to the sneak peek if anyone is interested. :) Click Here.

  19. I like the mockneck embroidered top and the button-front eyelet peasant top, but not the sleeves on either. Would love either of these tops in a shorter sleeve version. Summer is just at its peak. I hate to be negative but I've also seen a number of sloppy looking items in this latest rollout, like the recycled poly top. Frustrating.

  22. The silk V neck painted Paisley maxi dress is listed at $728 this morning. This dress was $633 Canadian for the past few weeks. I am lost J. Crew. Why the pricing games. Focus on Designing good quality clothes not pricing games. This is ridiculous.

    1. Actually, it looks like the price for most of the items went up on the Canadian site.

    2. I’ve noticed many items have jumped in price Cdn since yesterday and I’m pretty mad about it. A dress that is $198 US is $291 cdn (was $253 previously), a swim suit I ordered last week has increased over $20 etc. It looks like they’re charging more than the actual exchange rate now on older items. I haven’t checked but I suspect that newer items have a higher rate when they came out.

    3. Thanks for sharing Jan.

The tiered striped popover dress was $140.50 when if came out. And when it was posted on Tuesday with the other new colours. It is now $162.

The cocoon coat in Heather Red was $313.99 on sale and included in the promo. It is not $514.50 with no promo. I am not sure who is making these decisions about pricing.

I also got an email with a 40% off full price items this morning. But now that the prices went up, I am not going to bother. Will just wait til it goes on sale. Would have bought it at the regular listed price but your loss J Crew.
