So are things really selling out that fast or is it like in years past that things seem to sell out during certain promos only to be restocked? This has happened twice to me with preorders, the Princess Mini that I had to return in the gold and now completely sold out in petite as are most of the other colors, and the cotton cable mockneck. I preordered the ivory and it is set to ship today, maybe, but it's almost sold out in that color as are some others. Maybe because of their website issues things aren't entirely accurate or returns will cause popbacks? Otherwise I might start having to order multiple sizes to try before they sell out, I haven't had to do that in years.

DeleteThings do sell out during a promo and then 2 weeks later stores get a ton of returns, and many of those returns are sent back to Lynchburg. I think what happens when we are waiting for our orders to ship, is that the company knows they have it, but they are waiting for it to get back to the main facility and be "checked in" before it can go back out. Just my 2 cents.
DeleteI was at the store on Friday - I co-hosted a holiday shopping night with my SA but I didn't really shop for me - just helped others! Store was 30% and they were honoring the 40% off $200. A little bummed the sale flipped to 50% on Saturday so shoppers couldn't take advantage on Friday.
ReplyDeleteI did end up ordering the burgundy faux fur coat - I tried two sizes and will return whichever doesn't work, or both if I decide it's not for me.
I did get an order last week - the velvet bodysuit, V-neck cami in bright cerise and the double crystal drop earrings and the bow tartan flats. I like the bodysuit a lot - I went with a medium, the body fits well (I'm a 6 on top) but the sleeves are a little loose - not sure if going down to a small would make sense. I love the cami - the bright cerise is a good holiday red, a teeny bit orange but not crazy and it looked great with my red bow plaid shoes and red lipstick. I paired with the tuxedo jacket and earrings on Friday at my event. The earrings are also fantastic and not heavy - the earring itself is split so half of the earring is attached to the back which I think helps distribute the weight. The flats were a return - they definitely run small per reviews which I of course didn't pay attention to - I ordered my usual 9.5 and would have needed a 10. Not wowed by the quality and I have other holiday shoes so passing for now.
I'm still debating on the lace pants - I sold my regular length pair and thinking I'd like a tall pair. Other than that, there's not much in the sale section calling my name, and I have a closet full of holiday items that I haven't gotten around to wearing yet!
So, seriously...are the puffer scarves insane? Because I love a big scarf and am intrigued by them but they seem like they may be even too big for me. Maybe I can get one for 20 bucks after the holidays (when we'll still have 4+ months of winter here!).

DeleteI didn't visit but placed a bunch of orders this weekend (and last week). Today I received my birthday gift which is not supposed to be combined with another offer. I decided to call and take a chance with them applying it towards an order i placed with one item, the snakeskin boots. I know they ran large on me but hopefully my size will work fine, and the extra discount on one item I intend to keep is helpful. Thnakful for pleasant customer service. Now to hope my orders actually ship eventually.
ReplyDeleteThis is rollout week and the jcrew’s very own plaid will finally be in stores. I saw it over the wekend and it is like black watch plaid with pink and red (if i remember right)
