"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  2. I know we discussed this, but I was surprised to see the Mercantile dresses in the J crew retail store, not just online.

  3. Still waiting on my order from the 50% off sale. Narvar has been showing it as "just shipped" for several days now.

  4. my size was not available for alot of the items (at 50% off) last
week. they are now...and no promo off sale. just reinforces that I really do not need items anyway.# i can live without it.

  5. Looking at the new arrivals and Point Sur jumpsuits ....It's already been 3 years since jumpsuits are a 'thing' . I've bought none of them and cannot wait for that trend to go away. I also do not see many ladies wearing jumpsuits so not sure why retailers insist on selling them. To be honest I never owned a jumpsuit (or even tried on) and when I look at them I think of washroom disasters and proportion issues.

    1. I own two jumpsuits, both purchased in the past 6 months and on super sale. I would never buy them at FP or as an investment piece. They're wearable just for limited times (weather-wise and occasion-wise) but I do have to say they're super easy - put one on, put on a jacket, done. Treat them like adult overalls? They're not for everyone!

    2. I have a few jumpsuits I pull out every year. They're all more than 5 years old. Two are jersey material from Tart and one is very elegant, from Club Monaco. The easiness is certainly a great bonus in wearing them. I do like them and always admire them on other women...

    3. I have a long torso so tend not to find them comfortable or flattering, however I've seen some nice ones. My mom who is in her early seventies loves a jumpsuit. I don't get the whole bathroom thing. I tend to stick with separates for versatility.

  6. With the frigid weather we had here in the Northeast, I never got around to wearing my velvet easy pants. I had them on today, but took them off for fear of looking too "wintry" in this spring weather. Has anyone worn them lately? I do still like the idea of wearing them with a white court sneaker and button down, as well as a regular flat for my office job. And FYI my office is a frigid tundra so being warm is not an issue...

    1. I always wonder about this myself. I do think they'd look cute and not too wintry exactly as you described.

    2. I'm so glad you answered me and agree. I'm going to go for it Suz, thank you so much.

  7. I just shipped back the swing coat in pink. It was so short and looked dirty and lower quality...very old navy ish... which is fine for old navy prices. Also got the embroidered pullover (avail in white, blue and orangeish) and it was huge in the body and tight in the arms. And see thru. No bueno j crew.

  10. My order supposedly shipped on Monday the 7th for delivery today. Now I see my package has gone to Salt Lake City (I’m in Chicago) with an expected delivery date of Wednesday May 16!!! WTF J Crew?!! Guess my Mom isn’t getting her gift on time. 👿👿👿

    1. The Salt Lake City hub is the absolute worst. They have rerouted my packages to Seattle, to Oregon, to Denver before. (I'm in the southwest.) Such a nightmare, especially since it takes at least a week for me to get J Crew orders anyway.

    2. First time I'm seeing Salt Lake City. It's so perplexing. I ordered on May 3rd and expected to receive my order today. Imagine my surprise. GRRR!

    3. @shopalot - Ordering May 3 and expecting to get it by Mother's Day is perfectly reasonable. Try sending an email to JC to complain about how ridiculously long that is. Maybe you'll get a discount code to soothe your anger?

    4. @shopalot - also I did that once for an Xmas gift and JC basically reordered the item for me at the price I paid, gave me free overnight shipping, and then essentially "returned" the item that was stuck in transit. All I had to do with return to a store when it finally arrived.

    5. eeps, that's a good idea. I will definitely contact J Crew and let them know of my disappointment. I was going to ask them to re-ship the order overnight but unfortunately a lot of things are now sold out.

    6. Narvar says my order from 5/2 is supposed to arrive today -- but it also says that UPS hasn't yet received the package. At this point I'd be perfectly okay if the order were cancelled.
