Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Returned the Lightweight Leather Nordic Boots over the weekend. They are super cute so I have been on the fence. I just felt the quality was sub-par - visible glue blobs at the sole, a few loose stitches/seams in the leather, which is never good, and it felt like the grommets could pull out w minimal tugging. Not nearly as sturdy as my original Nordic Boots and this is not the kind of boot I want to have to “baby.” Ordered the Sorel Kinetic Conquest Boots from Sundance instead.

  2. I would not want to baby them either, good call. I have eyed those Sorel's myself, but since I have three pairs of Nordic boots I am not allowing myself to go any further! Just wanted to mention that the Blondo Shaker boots (Nordstrom) are a pretty great dupe of the Sorel's and are currently on sale for less than $100. You could always swap out for different color laces.

  3. Just want to share that item BA588 Puffer Shirt arrived in pink. Friend modeled it and sad to say it’s an awful color. Muted pinkish beige undertones. Contrary to what others post it is TTS. Navy is better but I’m on the fence whether I should keep or send it back. Any thoughts?

    1. I’ll be honest, just looking at the reviews, if you’d wear it more as a shirt maybe it would work but as a jacket without pockets not sure I’d bother. I think the concept is cute and I could see wearing it around the house the way I wear my long cardigans as an extra layer, but without a pocket where I could easily put my phone or my hands, not sure I’d be on board 100 percent.

  4. @Suz, Thanks you solved his quickly for me! Going back. Right about the missing pockets.

  5. Perhaps this is something of interest. I telephoned a store CT to ask what they’ve opened so far . The SA stated nothing as of yet, they’re short of employees so they don’t have time. Unbelievable, doesn’t anyone want to work anymore in U.S.? With regard to sales, what better experience for a young student perhaps high school or even going to college part time to gain some experience dealing with people other than their parents and to begin developing their CV🤣

    1. I could be wrong but in the past there was a minimum age—and sad to say that most high schoolers will make more money babysitting these days and if they enjoy it there is a ton of need for child care.
The child care could be an issue for those parents who would pick up retail hours too. Lots of after school programs have been cut due to staffing shortages and I know of many parents in my area who were trying to figure out after school care so they could work their full time jobs.
It’s the same at restaurants too. There are signs everywhere mentioning reduced hours due to the labor shortage. But some people will say it’s not a labor shortage it’s a pay shortage. It’s hard to work a $12 per hour retail job when you’re paying a teenage babysitter $20 an hour cash.

    2. @Suz, You made sense of this. Thanks for explaining. I did both at times when I was a kid. In my case I loved working retail and found babysitting tiring. At that time pay was about the same but that was a 100 yrs ago🤣

    1. Yes I have. I am not a fan of that green color. The shoes are unique.

    2. Not my thing, for sure. I don’t dislike a little Liberty trim on sneakers as crew did but I don’t find that line appealing. But then again I keep my workout wear fairly minimal, black. 😆

    3. @kiligrl,Suz thinking the same it’s not very pretty. Liberty prints in general prints are all are being shown all over Europe and some are really beautiful. As for black Suz, I’ve never purchased so many black items since meeting you here. Must be under your spell🤣

    4. 😂 sometimes I don’t want to think about what goes together, or call attention to myself by wearing color. I like that black creates shapes. Though everyone is rubbing off on ME because I ordered olive green and pale mint sweats and want to get the rose cotton cashmere set if those pants come back in stock. Not to mention kiwi and orchid button downs…

    5. @Suz, there’s a new brighter pink Villa coat up on the website.🤣 OT, you mentioned pure heading o Fl. Friend told me there’s quite a bit of flu and upper respiratory viruses going around.

    6. Thank you, Lynn. It’s delayed until FIL gets an appt which he said would be in December. I hope before that but we shall see. If it’s too close to the holidays I might not go.
