Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. This time I learned my lesson and made sure to log in to my account before I started putting things in my cart. I picked up the ruffle V-neck top in block print, which I'd been trying to buy for a few days but was one of those items that I kept putting in my cart and then disappearing/selling out when I logged in to check out. I took a medium - reviews say it runs big but I also gained the COVID 15 and think I have gone up a size since March. Also got the seaside pant in chambray, the t-shirt dress in stripe, and the button front maxi in mixed blocked prints - saw that on a few ppl on IG and had been thinking about it for awhile. These 70+% final sales are killing me - I'm not allowing myself to look in the sale section anymore.

    1. Today I escaped with only a pair of linen drawstring pants.
There were lots of other items that I passed on, which is good.

    2. @pbanos Thanks for the heads up on the linen drawstring pants! I had bought a pair earlier in the summer and love them but was waiting for sale on sale prices to get another color.
@eeps I had a pair of said pants in my cart, but the sale price didn’t show up until I re-added them. Just another cart/account issue to be aware of.

    3. Yes, I think the 70% off is getting all of us :). I had $350 worth of stuff in my cart and ended up spending less than $80. Picked up rainbow seersucker cotton side cutout dress, Ratti safari print sweater and Edie Parker sweatshirt. Added several items to save for later, so I can think about it. With final sale I'm trying to make sure it's something that I will wear as opposed to sale goggles. I've also used save for later to order items when they were showing sold out but available in saved for later. So far, I've had good luck as everything has shipped.

    4. I was thinking about the seersucker dress and the EP sweatshirt too.
My last purchase was 5 days ago and I received the order yesterday. Really surprised how fast it was!

    5. Here I am cruising near Bodrum, Turkey and I’ve really gotten caught up with this sale. I too, purchased that Rainbow Seersucker dress, another Ratti Safari print popover, the swingy tiered floral print dress, the swingy tiered Guava colored dress, some Ratti pants, floral print dress, the Edie Parker sweatshirt, already have the lime earrings, earrings, tee shirts, linen pants, etc. I purchased duplicates and triplicates of items that I love. I had a large amount of rewards so basically I spent zero $ and simply the tax. Some of these items will be gifts for friends. I think I should stop this crazy buy, buy, buy story now. Shipping still great to my friend in Florida. Items have shipped the same day as ordered. Hope everyone is well and safe over there. Extremely strict mask protocol here and security in the marina here. No tourists allowed and 24 security police. The police story has been constant since a few years ago because of immigration issues. Compliments on the Ratti Lobster dress and the Safari print items.

    6. What sizes is everyone buying in the seersucker ribbon dress? I am torn and that is what has kept me from purchasing, which is unfortunate because I loved it since first glance.

    7. Oh I think I am talking about a different dress AO466, the tiered midi dress. Although I do like the cutout as well! Maybe on a pop back.

    8. Hope everyone is having a good weekend and staying safe.

Received a few orders this weekend. Shipping has been pretty quick and no issues with MI because UPS has been delivering. Orders placed on 8/18 and 8/19 already received. Order placed on 8/20 shipped yesterday. Have 1 order (2 items) pending from 8/21.

Watermark floral tankini and matching bikini is tts and super cute. The smocked bandeau on the tankini reminds me of a Tory Burch set that I have. A really good style that provides support and coverage.

Longline layering tank (tts) in sunset stripe; the fit is meant to be relaxed. For $3 it's a steal and works well with linen blend shorts.

Short-sleeve cashmere T-shirt in simple stripe (tts) is a nice weight and works well with ivory Italian cashmere open front cardigan I have from a few years ago. Can also pair with Vince black cashmere cardigans (oldies) in a waist length style and midi length. My WFH style for fall/winter since that's going to be my situation until January.

Fingers crossed everyone receives their items soon.

    9. I received most of my sale order too. I also have that sunset stripe tank. Perfect for weightlifting over a sports bra.

I received the seaside linen shorts and wore them immediately to go pick in a friends garden. The ochre color, which is a medium-bright gold. Wore with a red linen tank from a couple years past. Perfect for this very hot & humid day. I did not size down on the shorts despite comments, and found them breezy loose. They did fall onto my hips, but that adds a little length and is comfy for me. Also wore the red Lele Sadoghi trillium earrings.

My husbands slim linen l/s shirt in hibiscus print arrived and is nice as the reviews suggested. Too hot to wear l/s yet.

I did a mini fashion show for the hubs with the collection burgundy/brown sequin pencil skirt. I was worried it would be snug, since some collection skirts run smaller, but it's a perfect fit in my 'usual' 4. Some reviews said the waist was small, but that helps me. It pairs well with the leopard silk button up from the same sale. I also received a burgundy boyfriend cashmere turtleneck. Doesn't work with the skirt, it's too bulky to tuck. But a cosy sweater that I only left on for about 30 seconds in this heat.

    10. Also, got few of my orders! Everything shipped super quick and arrived yesterday! Cashmere pointelle short sleeve sweaters- love, great quality! Kenton driving Mocs for hubby $25.... shocked he liked them....keepers!
Few $3 thirsts for my son.... he likes variety of colors!
Flowery jumpsuit for my daughters- she likes it but it’s cropped so she has concerns!
I am waiting in No.2 Pencil® skirt in sequin floral .... let’s see how it fits!
      Few shorts for my daughter!
Still thinking about the flower dress! Don’t like the length! Idk if sizing down to 00 would help! I do like it !
My husband who is professional pattern maker says it’s a big job to even shorten because they did such nice job with lining! He is very encouraging me to keep it but I don’t want to pay $30-40 for alterations!
Picked up a pair of academy loafers for $15 and pair of Kiki for my mom for 28. I did order the cream and navy Kiki for me. Took 7.5, my smaller size and they perfect .... super comfy
Also got weekEnd and rose T-shirts .... love them
Overal all good peices. Heading to short hills mall today to do my returns! Keep you all posted

    11. Ended up at bridge water commons mall on nj, closet one to me. Small jcrew’ big men’s section and small kids/women’s section! They had 25% off reg item and 70 off sale! Sale racks were tiny and nothing in there!
I did my returns( with difficulty... they have me hard time on final sale). Going forward rockofelar only! They so nice there and friendly! Overall online sale are good! I return the flower silk dress and contemplating 00.... so see if it fits better...

    12. @Kate, I have a cashmere pointelle tee on the way, so that's encouraging. There was a day in the Spring when those Kenton mocs were on sale for $30, and I ordered in two sizes for my husband to try. Sadly they were too narrow for his bad foot and had to go back, but they were very nice. Academy loafers make even my size 10 feet look great. The floral sequin skirt looked pretty, I hope it works out for you as well as the brown/burgundy Collection sequin skirt ($12!!) did for me.

    13. Thanks! I wore the pointelle T-shirt today..., it was chilly when I left the house and it looked great with jeans and cream/navy Kiki flats!
I am shocked about he loafers for my husband as I return 99% of things I buy for him at jcrew! Except T-shirts! He loves to heir quality!
      O
Idk about sequins skirt... never owned one.... but will see.... not like we go anywhere anymore.....lol...I paid $31 which is still a good deal.... but your skirts beats it... lol

  2. Tempted by the railroad stripe skirt AO470 which will end up being a bit more than $17 after I apply the promo.

  3. Love the 50% off promo. Ordered the tweed sweater blazer in ivory, will make a nice summer/fall/spring layer. I sized down re the reviews.
Contemplating the merino stripe short sleeve sweater... No reviews yet, did anyone have/try this ??? TIA

  4. The 70% deals are insane. I ended up reordering the collection silk twill shift dress at $48 because I am in love with the fabric and print and I assume I can fine a tailor who can do it justice. I also picked up a top for about $14. For non final sale tries, I ordered the Edie Parker citrus dress and the remi pant in a few sizes to try.

  5. So sad my mail hasn’t come with the red lace peyton pants. I hope this is not the beginning of no mail as many in my town have been dealing with this summer. All of my sale orders have shipped which is pretty amazing. Last I checked two packages were supposed to arrive today (single items) so maybe I’ll get lucky and my missing mail will be delivered.

  6. Ordered my regular size in the rainbow seersucker cutout dress. Really would have preferred the seersucker ribbon dress but still too unsure about sizing.

  7. How are the in-store promotions compared to online? I ordered a bunch of things Friday using the extra 72% off promo 3DAYS: AO996 v-neck maxi dress in poppy print, AO866 flutter-sleeve midi dress in bandana floral, AQ133 strappy-sandals in snake-embossed leather, and AQ134 strappy crystal-detail sandals in satin (black). I noticed yesterday that the sale prices were further reduced and the prices were less using 60% off promo SUMMER (too late for me). So far three of the four items have shipped, but annoyingly they've all shipped separately (been having mail problems so a bit concerned something will go missing). Yesterday I received the piqué bandeau one-piece swimsuit with daisies (AP026) which I ordered on Tuesday, so that's promising. The swimsuit is very nice and I'm mostly pleased with it. The straps are removable but unfortunately not adjustable and a bit loose for me, so I wouldn't wear them in the ocean for fear I'd lose one.

    1. I have only been to the store once. Some items were a few dollars less but one thing I bought was more in store so I pulled up the website and matched online. Since the dressing rooms at our local store were closed it almost didn’t pay for me. I bought a few things and ended up not loving everything.

None left but they will price match if I order,
Black showed up but I really don’t need another pair of black pants.

  9. Other items I did receive. Long linen blazer. Size 4. It’s long. Below my butt but nipped in at the waist. This is much more flattering than a boyfriend blazer and although the texture doesn’t match the linen pants perfectly it’s fine. I also tried over the shiny linen shorts and it’s super cute. This was a good purchase. The size 4 is comfortable. 2 might be more flattering but at least I can move my arms.

The Gretchen color block sandals. My foot sits forward a little bit but otherwise my smaller size is perfect. I love them for the beach/pool. They’d be wonderful for walking on a boardwalk. Yes I’m dreaming of vacation. I actually think they make my feet look smaller too.

    1. I hoped you would like the blazer! I came close to ordering, but I really would only wear in the office I do not visit. Would it work over a short skirt?

Sad about the lace pants, they would have been fabulous on you with the matching sleeveless top. How come the weird errors are always something we don't want, and never like a Collection cashmere coat?

  12. I got the last of my orders. Nothing is a wow.
    Button-up beach cover-up in linen-cotton
Item: AK283. The red color is really pretty but like a lot of what I’ve bought the cut is off for me. I sized up to a small which I think is ok because I can belt it and shorten it. I mean I guess if I’m wearing a bathing suit I won’t really care, it will get softer and wrinkly and that’s fine. The fabric is fine, and I could even wear it as a shirt dress if I really wanted, but I don’t know...

    Sweater-tank
Item: AM738 Again sized up which is prob fine. I don’t have anything like this and could make it work somehow but it’s fairly boxy. Material seems like it will grow which will work in my favor.

I still keep trying on the high rise pleated linen pants and can’t put my finger on exactly why I don’t love them. I think they cut the leg wide but straight from the hip which gives and overall rectangle shape as opposed to an A line that makes your waist seem narrower...anyway...

  13. I got the t-shirt stripe dress, the chambray seaside pants, and the blck print ruffle v-neck top. The dress and the top are both running big - the dress I got in my pre-pandemic non-diet size even though now I'm between sizes, and the dress fits. I like that it is a little loose fitting even though it's essentially a column dress by silhouette. I got the pink one, which has orange-tan stripes that coincidentally match my cowhide sandals so that's a nice surprise.
The seaside pants in chambray are awesome. I took the smaller of my two sides and the waist fit fine, they're super comfy. They remind me of pants I once got in India as part of a kurta set - those pants cost US$4 even with alterations, so I'm sure even with the 70% promo JC still made a significant profit off them.
The ruffle v-neck top is huge. I ordered the larger of my two sizes - I should have heeded the reviews and gone with the smaller size. It's very wide and the ruffles make the v-neck droopy, so I'll probably flash someone if I bend over. It looked like a bright poppy red on my screen but it's orange in person.

  16. I had a too-good-to-be-true order of a $4 pair of velvet leggings cancelled. I did order the Liberty ruffle-neck top- it doesn't look like it has darts in the pictures and will likely have to go back if that's the case.

  17. VPS shared preview descriptions of a couple of items with me no photos though. Ratti print silk twill navy giraffe print with some yellow and possibly other colors which she said is beautiful and said I will love it. I’m a Ratti print fanatic. Lots of blazers in all different styles. New Barn Jacket colors and coats, etc. For those of you that like the original Kiki calf haired print shoe they pulled it and it will go up on the site. This is something new with many items where as one day we’ll see something and later it’s gone. Not because it’s sold out. She’s been with the company for years and said from what she’s seen, this next launch is looking a lot better than recent ones. She’s sick of summer items as I suppose most of us are. I’m in an area where it is extremely hot and I’m tired of summer over here. The launch will be on the 1st and you can preorder but no discounts. Better to wait. I realize this info isn’t much help but this is all she had to give me. Stay safe everyone and have a nice weekend

    4. Ladies, here’s a little more detailed update on the Ratti Print as well as another. Ratti Collection Silk Twill in Giraffes. Spice, saffron, multi. Washed out Navy with tiny green leaves, giraffes are shown running symmetrically in groups of 3 in orange, gold and tan. Ratti Lilac Collage ruffled print dress, small green and pink leaves, Collete D’Orsay print shoes, stacked heel sandals, headbands, scarves etc. same print. Longer cut blazers with wide lapel in tweeds, solids, English Tweeds all with gold buttons. These are cut longer. Mentioned lavender in the tweeds, floral graphic tees etc. Images were very difficult for her to view but the items are on models. Another note, they have been given more measurements for many items. We’re both pleased about this as I’m sure all of you will be as well. She was also surprised to see such light colors but believes that some of the items were delayed in shipping.

  18. The first of my 2 pkgs arrived - it's the Edie Parker Citrus dress and 2 remi pants (in my reg size and my petite size).

The dress - love. The quality - whoa! Cotton. The fruits are larger than I expected, but the whole thing works. The cut is very nice on me (normally the tops are too big on me), and the straps aren't too tight, but I could see it being hit or miss. You cannot wear a bra with this dress, and my b/c cups look ok in it, but there is potentially to look or feel a little saggy. Overall, however, it's a win. I just need to figure out if it is worth what I paid ($84) for a summer dress.

The remi pants - so on the fence. They look great except for the waist area. The petite sie fits, but is kind of legging-ish on top so I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it with a top tucked in. I'd look fine, but a bit bumpy/lumpy. The regular size is somehwta the same. The color and the leg are amazing though, as was the price. Am wondering if I can make them work with a top that covers the waist area. But that kind of looks frumpy . . .

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I had the same problem with the Remi fit. It just looked tight/muffin top-ish even though the rest of the pants were fine. Tucking in my shirt kind of made the shirt look too blousy with the tight fit at the waist so I looked pregs! Ended up not getting.

      Delete
    2. Hmmm. I wonder if shapewear will save the day! I will investgate. The color is so great, the legs fit great, and I am digging the high waist.

    5. Sorry for deletions; I keep making typos that I find hard to find on preview...

I ordered the Edie dress too, at $84. It is now on sale for about $60. I called to see if they would do a price adjustment and SA said no b/c first purchase was not full price, even though it wasn't technically on sale (just a promo). I explained that it would be a waste of shipping expenses for JC if I reorder and send it back, but still, no go, so I reordered. I almost never bother returning by shipping but this time I will, just because I was so annoyed...

That said, I agree, it is an adorable dress.

My closet is mostly JC but in the last several years, I have not found nearly as much that I like. For the last few summers, I have just bought one or two JC dresses, but this year I feel like JC has done a great job with a lot of 100% cotton cute dresses; I think I must have bought 10-15, with all the fantastic promos this summer... Some of my favorites are:

      * Tiered cotton voile dress in stripe, Item: AP041: TTS, I really love this. I am not comfortable with how revealing it is, h/v, so I wear with a cute bra.

      * Tiered midi dress in seersucker ribbons, Item: AO466: also TTS, also very cute.

      * Ruffle-front maxi dress with braided belt, Item: AK262 and AK625: TTS, very cute, but the ruffles on the sleeve were a bit much for my frame (5'3") and so I cut off the second ruffle and I like it much better. I bought this in both solids and ratti.

      * Tiered popover dress in embroidered eyelet, Item: AP152: TTS. I actually bought this in all three colors and cut off the sleeves to make it kind of a halter neck b/c I just don't wear long sleeves in summer. I knew I was going to do this, and knew it was a risk, but for $26 I thought it was worth a try. Bought white first, and sleeveless worked, so I bought the other two colors as well.

      * Pom-pom dress in Ratti® retro floral, Item: AK624 and L2559: TTS, very cute. I am not a fan of the pom poms and cut them all off, after which I was much happier. Bought in ratti and solids.

      * Petite tiered maxi dress in lobster print
      Item: AP165: TTS, love.

      * Tie-front cotton poplin dress in Ratti® regatta print
      Item: AP158: TTS, love.

Actually I bought more, but this list is getting embarrassing. Although, like I said, the sale prices were really astounding. Quality far surpasses the price...

    6. Wow Audrey, that's a lot of pretty dresses! I've been wearing dresses and skirts all summer to WFH. I don't even do video calls, but I'm happier when I'm looking nice. On days off I go casual, because I'm always doing housework. I find dresses, especially sleeveless, to be cooler than pants or shorts.

    3. L&T closing is so sad, I worry what malls are going to end up like. Personally I love the mall, nothing like spending the day there (in the good old days), grabbing a coffee etc. I’ve only popped into a mall twice quickly for returns, wearing a mask is so uncomfortable for me that I just run in and out. It was nice to see people at the mall though.

      Delete
    4. jan you sound like me. We used to make dates to go to Short Hills here in NJ just to 'window shop' and maybe stop for a cup of tea. Now the total of my mall trips has been two returns, straight in and out. I'm working from home, and hope it continues for a long time.

    5. @cheritheberry, oh no this is tragic news to hear. I remember as a child and later on my mother taking me shopping there and everything was so beautiful and I had such nice memories. When I attended MIT I worked during the holidays at the Copley Square location. It had just opened, it was so beautiful and I was so happy to be part of their sales team even if only part time. Those were the days of civilized shopping, beautiful displays in all of the stores and we all took pride in working retail at the time. Very sad news indeed.

  21. Audrey S. - are we the same person? After I wrote that note, I checked and saw it had been reduced again. It had been 5 days since I ordered (shipping is fast to my town) so I called and got the same spiel. Sighed and rebought.

I'll trek to the store to return though, because if you don't, they might credit the cheaper one. They did that for another purchase and they were lovely about it when I called to get a correction.

Nordstrom was not so nice once with a return and rebuy - they credited the cheaper price! When I called to get the adjustment, they said it was their policy to honor the lowest price and not allow returns and rebuys. True story.

I think that's why we are seeing no receipts in packages. . .

    3. The CS who said no had an American accent. She said "we don't allow people to get around our pricing that way." Called back and got a different rep, who took care of it. It would have been fine if I'd gone to a store. Made me less likely to order from Nordstrom though.

      Delete
    4. A few months ago I called Nordstrom because a pair of jeans I had bought went on a much better promo within 3 days of my order. They said they couldn’t adjust the price because it was a special promo, I mentioned that it didn’t make sense because I could just rebuy and return and the CS rep said I shouldn’t do that because they always check returns and flag accounts who do that. I was so mad. I did it anyway and returned the pair in store. I think it was a $60 diff on COH jeans. How can they have an issue with it especially when it’s within a short period.

      Delete
    5. For $60 I’ll take a flag on my account! What can they do anyway - prevent you from shopping with them? Because not much of what they sell is unique to Nordstrom and can’t be found elsewhere.
I am surprised though - I haven’t shopped Nordstrom for a couple of years but I thought they were known for a very good return policy and CS.

    6. I gotta say, BananaRepublic's customer service has been beyond wonderful when it comes to price adjustments lately. Since May ... they've been so gracious when I called to request PAs on sale items when a better promo offer came along. ♥️

  22. JCAS I need help.

I bought Tapered pant with front pleats (Item AJ438 Color: BRILLIANT SUNSET) in store and they fit nicely. However I am having a hard time styling them. I prefer a tonal or monochromatic look but my tops with red seem to clash. I found a few items called the same color. I’m drawn to the blazer because I got the longer version in black and love the fit. Although it’s called linen it is a blend and the texture works with the shine of the pants. (I tried the black on with the pants). I’m a big fan of a pant suit, not that I’m going anywhere, but do we think this is elegant/fun or too much? I’m going to reach out to CS to see if they know if the colors match. The cardigan is my other option although they tend to be tight on the arms so I’m not sure.

    Cardigan sweater in cotton crepe
    Item AK190
    Size: SMALL
    Color: BRILLIANT SUNSET

    Parke blazer in stretch linen

    2. I think a blazer and pants in that color are terrific together. Cardigan is way more casual. If it works, I like the blazer.

      Delete
    3. Thanks. I’m hoping Labor Day sale is a little higher percentage off. I feel like I’m jumping through hoops to make the pants work. Truth is they fit really well (aside from a few extra pandemic lbs) and the fabric has a sheen that allows it to be dressed up. If it works it would be fun for something.

    4. I like leopard/cheetah print with that color, or just tan/khaki if you want a quieter look.

      Delete
    5. I know it’s very in but I hate tan with my complexion. Won’t wear it. I do have some scarves but red and leopard starts to get into “married with children” territory. (However my leopard slingback flats looked cute with the pants).

      Delete
    6. @Suz Has, I think you would look great wearing it as a suit. I was going to suggest tan like Cate did, i think it would look great. I also feel that it looks bad with my fair complexion so I know what you mean. Without the blazer, do you think chambray might work? I hope the colours match for you!

      Delete
    7. Jan I did try it with two light blue shirts I have. I have the pajama top with red tipping. The reds aren’t perfect and the shirt is a little blousy but it’s not bad. It still doesn’t feel like an outfit though.

    8. What about ivory instead of tan? Maybe a cashmere turtleneck?

    9. I did try with an ivory sweater with a print scarf. It’s not bad.

    10. Hahaha you know me too well. I’m trying not to pair the bottoms with black. It’s not bad with one of my drapey black tops, but I feel like if I’m going to wear a black top id just wear black pants.

  24. New arrivals up on the web site this morning. I put in an order with the 40% off -- a new pair of toothpick jeans, the honey colored Margot sweater, and then the new Denim Lady Jacket (AQ306) and the Tipped Sweater Jacket (AQ387) in bronzed olive. I almost got new Gemmas but decided to wait.

And I type this wearing the Tiered Popover Dress in Ratti Safari which has been a surprise love from final sale (sized down to a M).

Fingers crossed for continued interesting things to come this fall for rollouts!

    1. I also placed a large order, for the first time in months!!! Super pleased to be excited about a rollout. September is my birthday month and I’m glad there are things to splurge on! I bought: The Ratti lilac dress (so out of season and poly, but I don’t care, it’s gorgeous), orchid autumn tweed skirt, chevron Tippi, ivory plaid Parke blazer, Sophie sweater blazer in burgundy plaid, giraffe pants, and the stripe ribbed sweater from the previous rollout.

Things I was hoping for but did not see: Tippi sweaters in a slew of new colors (NOT Margots), new Liberty prints in new shapes (I did end up liking the ruffle neck top in Phoebe from last rollout), transitional outerwear (Nordstrom sale had J. Crew wool-blend bombers, in my dreams there would be a new Liberty print quilted field jacket!), a navy ankle boot, and low rise toothpick cords. (And hey, while we’re dreaming big, the return or Italian-made shoes and cashmere, though I know that will never happen!)

I know that even though this promo is listed as ending Sep 8, there will almost certainly be a code update to give a better Labor Day discount- I’ve probably set myself up to have a polite argument with customer service or possibly having to rebuy/return. But with things disappearing from the website seemingly at random, or being deemed ineligible for promo, or becoming final sale, I figured it was better to buy while I could.

  25. I like the direction of the new stuff but I admit I’m surprised there are not more joggers or pajama type pants or pull on pants with wide legs. With so many people working from home it seems like soft drapey pants would be a home run.

I have not reached for my jeans other than to try them on. I’m really trying not to fall into only athleisure territory, but my most worn pants by far this summer have been my Alex Mill pull on linen pants. I know jcrew does have linen pull on pants, but for cooler weather I’d think for every single color blouse there would be a matching comfy bottom that could take one from behind the desk to the couch to dinner easily.

Now granted I started following Trinny Woodall on IG and although I don’t love everything she wears she is a big fan of these Serena Bute silk blouses and wide leg joggers. They’re super expensive but totally chic.

    1. I'm tired of joggers, personally. I've been wearing loungewear so much this year, I am ready for real pants/jeans.

      Delete
    2. I mean more elegant joggers, not sweats, with high waists, deep pockets and pretty details. Obviously tailored/structured clothes will always have their place but with so many people working from home not having an assortment of elevated, sophisticated loungewear is a missed opportunity. I know there are some printed ones but rich colors in silky fabrics...my mom had a teal set in the mid 1980s I’m remembering.

I’ve always loved high waisted super wide leg pants though.

      Delete
    3. I could go for sophisticated joggers, and had been looking around for lower priced silk and satin options but put that on the back burner once summer weather hit. I am not one to wear pajama styled blouses or pants do something along those lines would have been a nice way to transition back to real pants.

      Delete
    4. Agree with Suz, suprised they didn't reach for the 'dressy' casual market. I have some Gap velvet joggers I picked up on clearance that I wear for winter PJ's, but might do WFH in them with a nice sweater.

      Delete
  26. Good morning JCAs! I’m liking a few things from this rollout. I’ll be WFH for the next few months still (and who knows beyond that) so easy pieces that still look professional are what I’m drawn too. Love the tipped sweater in bronzed olive and navy, the leopard roxies, and the ruffle neck striped blouse. That’s what I have in my cart and will order (May see if a better promo pops up this weekend). Any reviews on the Roxie boots? I’ve been searching for a leopard bootie for years and I love this version. Good with jeans/skirts/dresses. Would love to hear some reviews!

    1. I have the Roxie boots in red patent, and I found them TTS with thin socks/tights. Sure I could have also worn my larger size if I wanted with thicker socks. I find the back zip very hard to close (and open), I have to sit down and use one hand to push the sides together and the other to work the zip.

      Delete
    2. I also had the roxies in black leather and also red patent. OMG and snakeskin. I had both my regular and larger size. I sold them all in a Poshmark spree. Why, Well, I liked them with skinny jeans but the shaft height was a little tricky for me. They’re sort of that inbetween dressy casual.

      Delete
    3. I do like the suede version. I think the ankle on those looks a bit more tapered. I also had sock issues with them. I couldn’t wear them without my socks falling down.

    4. If anyone purchased the Ratti giraffe print items there is a cute Kade Spade wallet purse with a pink giraffe and black and white zebra on the front. I purchased one sent it to my VPS and she’s over the moon with pairing. 40% off regular price.

    1. @MmeJacqueline, oh my is correct! I haven’t ordered this much from the crew in ages. Purchased everything in Ratti giraffes and the lilac dress including the scarf, pants, the tipped sweater blazer navy/ green which will be nice with the matching Kiki’s in the same color, Lavande de Provence tee, Bandana tee, NYC skyline tee, Denim popover, French Cafe tee, 2 pair of pants, 2 pair of jeans, cashmere pointelle sweater in heather mineral or harbor can’t remember, and the Love cashmere sweater. Also ordered the short tiered dresses in Banker Blue stripe which arrived already @50%. Friend says it’s slightly tight only in the bust (I’m a 34D) nowhere else is it small but there’s a lot of fabric on the bottom. I ordered a small. I’m not sure about this one. Too bad because it’s very well made. I may order a M but I think it will be huge on me. I don’t think I’m finished yet shopping as I see too many beautiful things out there. By the way next launch is mid Sept. and more items and a bigger launch I was told. My only hope is the quality is good and the sizing on the other items are correct for my size. Enjoy shopping everyone!

  28. @Lynn: Well, oh my AGAIN if the mid-September launch is as good as this one with more items! I'm in trouble with no place to go but wanting things anyway. The tipped sweaters appealed to me too, and they are in my cart along with other things too numerous to mention. I really hope that others feel the same way and that J.Crew can get on the track to profitability.

  29. @MmeJacqueline, I’m very sorry to hear you can’t go anywhere. It must be terrible feeling trapped and then with all of the non-COVID believers and half maskers my fear is this whole pandemic will blow up again. Do purchase those items if it makes you feel good. Find a place where you feel safe and strut your stuff. I’m certain you will receive compliments whatever you put on. If anything here’s retail therapy at its best:) I like you, and many others are keeping fingers crossed that Jcrew’s profits will soar and it will be better than it ever was. I will post when my friend receives my packages and tries everything on. Have a nice evening and wear your nice clothes. If I were back in the U.S. I would invite you to lunch. Take care

    3. 30% off reg price in Canadian stores, and the 70% off sale still going strong. Very little of the current rollout has showed up in store so far, assuming logistics issues are at fault. The retro-paisley Margot arrived and went straight to the sale rack, oddly - picked it up for $35 - I like it way more in person than I thought I would. Hoping we get an online sale code for Labour Day.

      Delete
    4. Thank you so much for these updates! Sounds like a great deal on your Margot top. I can’t believe it was on sale, that’s a great score!

      Delete
    5. Jan, it looked like they had taken the full size run of the paisley Margot out of the box and put it directly onto the sale rack. I didn’t look a gift horse in the mouth lol. I try to pop in about once a week to have a look for new deals and see what bits of the new rollout have arrived. Last week’s deal was suede Chelsea boots, also for $30. Feel very lucky to live close to an actual store.

      Delete
    6. That’s amazing! And those boots, wow what a price especially in Canada. I will live vicariously through you! My closest store was Ottawa that closed a couple of years ago. I really miss popping into a b&m. I had great experiences visiting the Bloor and Yorkdale locations last summer.

  31. I guess I am in the minority but I did not love this rollout. The only thing I really liked was the peplum blazer and skirt but sizing is always a gamble and I am tired of the rebuying and return game. I've bought an obscene amount this summer so I am secretly relieved!

    1. @Flower Power, I bought so much this summer too so I feel like I need to put the brakes on. I’m looking forward to reviews, as you mentioned, sizing is difficult.

    2. heh, agree. I overbought this summer on the frequent 60 and 70 percent off sales. Didn't see anything in the new arrivals that I particularly liked.

      Delete
    3. FP, I think we are the same person!

I didn't buy anything from the new rollout. The only thing I like is the Ratti paisley shirt, and not enough to buy, even with 40% off. Especially after the pricing fiascos.

(Btw, I am so disappointed to hear about Nordstrom. I haven't done a lot of shopping there since the pandemic, but they were always so great. Esp with all the retail problems right now, you'd think they would realize this is not the time to be making customer service less consumer-friendly...)

I did bite on two more dresses tho -- the relatively new Ratti button-front maxi (AR218) (I have the white eyelet one and it's perfect) and the embroidered midi dress with lace trim (AP195). Both are on sale for about $60 right now, down from $300 and $270 respectively.

    2. Yay! They arrived and they fit. Although jcrew hi waisted pull on pants don’t have a long enough rise to actually work on my waist without pulling if you know what I mean, so I need to wear them on my hip. I do think the overall proportions might be better if the rise was higher BUT I’m super picky and I don’t think anyone else will be as discriminating. The color is beautiful and somehow it actually seems like it can be worn year round, of course it is very festive and holiday like but it also feels summery to me.
Considering the super high comfort level and overall cost for a fun look, I’m pleased.
PS not only are they not high rise, they’re not wide leg either.

    5. ps. I like the shoes without the ankle strap better with the length of the pants.

      Delete
    6. Agreed on the shoes! The red ones don’t work. I have to see what others I can wear it with thats slightly more casual

      Delete
    7. Oops I totally misread. I prefer the maryjanes but will try with others. The white slingbacks were cute, I’ll see what other sandals I have. I can honestly say I don’t think I’d wear the pants with anything but this top but that’s fine. I mean eventually we will have get togethers and holiday soirées and bythe time we do either people won’t fit into their clothes or everyone will be totally dressed because they’re sick of being in quarantine.

    8. I’m happy to hear that you found a pair after they were canceled! I’ve only had one cancellation this summer for a pair of jeans but might have been for the best due to final sale.

      Delete
    9. Well, they weren’t canceled, they just sent me something completely different! I prob could have gone with either the 00 or 0. I hate to say it but for the low sales price I couldn’t resist the matchy matchy outfit. I certainly don’t need these (honestly what do I need?) but someday I will wear them even if it’s out to dinner or to entertain friends on our patio.

  34. Just noticed that an item I ordered yesterday AM with the sale update that I expected to cancel has shipped. It's a 2014 B/W striped painter t with a jeweled brooch embellishement. I know I have two B/W striped t's in my drawer, not counting the Blue/White ones. Well, for $4 I can figure something out. Wonder where it's been hiding for 6 years, wonder if it is still in new condition after 6 years in storage someplace, wonder if it's really the item that shipped or if I will get some funky random item. So much entertainment for $4, more fun than a scratch-off lottery ticket.
Also a $4 long sleeve slim broken-in t for the hubs, he's taken to wearing his other one for lawn work to keep the bugs off and it's growing disreputable looking. So he can have this one for an eventual replacement.

    4. I have the Roxie form few years back! Love them! They my tts 7.5 but 8 would work as well! I have the black leather and leather is super soft and gentle. They get scuffed easily! With that said I love them. Even though they starting to look quiet old but I have them for 2 yrs maybe 3. Wish they came in grey suede. I did buy the Sadie Boots this summer on some super sale for $19.... they were back ordered and arrived few weeks ago. Also super soft and fit tts. Seem comfortable! But higher heel!

I did also get my back ordered black coocoon coat on p4. Fits well! It’s was $34 and my best purchase of summer boyfriend tweed blazer in P2. It was also back ordered and arrived this week. Is fall 20 product! Very beautiful! Great lining with red trim. Just beautiful! Idk how it was $12.75 buy it was....lol

I did order some shorts for my daughter and pair of jeans for her! Today I ordered ratti safari dress, the Tiered popover dress in embroidered eyelet and Sleeveless pleated A-line dress in two-way stretch wool in navy. I returned the black one in same
Size because if the color but I think navy will be great!
I am looking at the Edie Parker® X J.Crew button-front tiered maxi dress in limes and oranges and the

    7. @Flower Power I agree.
      Great deals Kate!
If the roxies are the same as the captoe I found them very true to size and also as Kate said that the leather was fragile. The snakeskin has held up extremely well. Sizing up would have rendered them unwearable, for me. Mine are on season 3, but may be replaced by Joie snakeskin booties I purchased on sale over the summer.

I will be able to put anything under it a cashmere tee, silk blouse etc. plenty of room. Sleeves are long which works me with very long arms. It’s loose on me which is the way I want it to fit. Size down if you want it really fitted. Garment dyed foundry pants in the fatigue olive. Beautiful color but pants are too wide and sloppy looking. Tried one larger and one smaller. They both look terrible on me. I like the high waist and the beautiful green color but that’s it. I thought these would work for me being 5’7 1/2”. I’m sick of all the super wide leg pants. 4. @Lynn, it's a good thing you are collecting outfits, not something heavy. We're having a nice spell in the mid-Atlantic now, also in upper 70's low 80's for a few days.

  43. ALERT for any Toronto-area JCAs - the Bloor Street store will be closing September 26! Entire store is 70% off, with a few exceptions like Collection and cashmere. Probably explains why the latest rollouts have not landed. Great deals to be had, but I’m very sad for the loss - it was always a great store. That means we are down to a single store in the city, as for now at least Yorkdale is staying open. Only two stores left in Canada, sadly. Not betting on their survival, sadly.

    1. Nooooo, that is so sad! I’ve only been a few times but I’ve ordered on the phone. I’ve had great service and feel terrible for the staff, it might be hard to get a new job now.

    1. Sounds exactly like my store here in Toronto - went in Wednesday, All was normal with 70% off sale. Went in on Friday and all the ‘store closing’ signs were up and entire store 70% off. Similar limited ‘new’ items, to which the % didn’t apply. Am keeping my eye on our other city store, which I think was the first to open in Canada. Hoping it stays open, but maybe two stores in the whole country aren’t worth the expense for a floundering company. Fingers crossed.

  45. Stopped in to pick up Edie Parker stawberry cover up that I ordered online. Store was 70% off sale + additional 10%. Full price items were 40% off + additional 10%. Picked up stripe t-shirt dress in orange/blue stripe for $13 and Edie Parker mesh pouch for $7. After seeing the pouch in store I realized how useful it could be with taking my ipad, ear pods, and sunscreen to the pool/beach.

    1. And it will make you smile. Nice you are close to the beach.

    2. It will definitely make me smile, but unfortunately, I'm not near the beach. Maybe that's why I love the beach so much because I treasure being on one.

    3. @Mygoddy, thank you for posting. I was able to order all of the items early this morning. As far as the beach you’re welcome to visit us and anyone else here over in MC. When back in Fl that goes for here too.

  46. This AM I purchased gifts for the kids and their SO's. For my stepson, a pair of Kenton moccasins and a pair of blue suede Kenton loafers. For his girlfriend, a drapey twill button up. For my stepdaughter, a sleeveless sequin watermelon strip top. For her boyfriend, an organic cotton navy and white strip sweater. I ordered the sweater earlier for my husband, it would have been nice for the original price, amazing for the <$10 I paid both times. OH, and a pair of heart shaped tortise hoop earrings as one from my first pair was a victim of my mask the first time I wore one. Now I know not to wear hoops and a mask. Plus the Wallace and Barnes sweatshorts in indigo for my husband. I've seen those, they are very comfy and dense with a soft fleece interior, patterned like jeans, and perfect for the cooler days of late summer early fall.

  47. Reviews!!!

Giraffe easy pants- Seem shorter than previous versions (I own the olive green with grey panthers from a few seasons ago), I'm 5'4" and they were definitely several inches above my ankles. Silk seems thinner and more prone to wrinkles. Print is cute but a few giraffes were "beheaded" running into the seam down the center front, calling attention to the crotch in a way I didn't love. Maybe best to buy in person if you can, to make sure print placement isn't an issue.

Tippi Sweater in Chevron- This is not a Tippi sweater. The silhouette is different holding it up to an actual Tippi. The ribbed band at the collar is less tall than in a Tippi, and it has long sleeves. I found it TTS but slightly loose, especially in the arms. Color was very saturated, no white show-through from uneven printing like I've seen on some cheap J. Crew sweaters.

Ratti Lilac Collage Dress- Mine came packaged in bubble wrap ensuring no wrinkles and the ruffles were perfectly pressed. Labeled as a Collection item on the interior fabric tag. The background of the print is a saturated light pink, not white like it looks in the pictures. In addition to button front it has a side zip which completely zips open (not sewn up at the top of the armpit), making it very easy to get into and out of. Plastic buttons slightly cheapen it (fabric-covered would have been gorgeous), but I didn't mind the poly. Side seam pockets do not add any volume. Pleats lie flat at the defined waist seam, but the bottom is sufficiently swishy to be fun. TTS, though I'm considering sizing up one just because I'm very very busty and the placket was straining a bit. It's expensive, I have no place to wear it, and it's definitively a springtime dress for a September release, but darn it if I'm not in love with it, it's beautiful.

Parke Blazer in Ivory Plaid- I don't have any other Parke blazers to compare it to, but I found this to run slightly wide in the shoulders and roomier in the sleeves compared to Schoolboys and Campbell blazers I have in the same size. Plaid was a bit busier/less neutral than it seems on the website, the thinner stripes are still quite prominent. Wool was not itchy (and it is fully lined).

No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Autumn Tweed- Very comfortable fit in the smaller of my 2 sizes. Color is more of a vivid hot pink than a darker, blue-toned fuchsia than I was expecting, but the other colors tone it down a bit. To drive the point home, the lining is neon pink, with a wide cobalt blue grosgrain ribbon lining the interior waist. My husband really liked this one on me. If you want COLOR, but make it business casual, then this one's for you!

Sophie sweater blazer in Plaid- I love the shade of burgundy, it is cooler toned than some of the maroons that are out there. Print is lined up from patch pockets to body of the sweater. It is soft and I didn't find it itchy though I was wearing a Tippi under it just for try-on purposes, I should try it with a thinner tee. I am usually a 4 or S in tops (incl. Tippis) due to a large bust and ordered an XS in this, and could probably do an XXS- may re-order to compare.

Still missing the ribbed stripe sweater, but it should be here early next week. I was impressed I got all of the new arrivals so fast!
Overall, I'm pleased, I feel like quality is not further declining, design is improving, and this order has me optimistic for future rollouts.

    1. @Alyssa, thanks for posting. I’m waiting for the dress to be delivered. Love the colors and relieved I ordered the correct size. The lilac scarf arrived and it’s beautiful.

    2. Thanks for the reviews, it's a help. I look for loose arms in sweaters, as mine are muscular. Also good to know how short those pants are and about the nosy giraffes...
