  1. Crossing fingers...I woke up with my bad tummy and ordered the New Balance 711 in navy 1/2 size up according to the reviews. It was the only pair! I have been dreaming about navy gym sneakers so I could retire my old running shoes-turned gym sneakers. I'd seen these navy 711's before, but the price was too high and then I guess I missed them on sale. Hopefully no dreaded "sorry" email! I have too many fashion sneakers already, but gym sneakers will actually get a lot of wear.

Ditto for the microfiber bikini in leopard print. I already managed one popback in medium, but I prefer at least two pair of panties per bra since they get washed more. I wear a 4 in pants, and the medium fits fine. The large might even have worked? The bra also ran small, I bought 34d for a 34c, then I kept searching for the panties. Love both pieces!

    1. Hi p banos, I have the navy 711 and love them! I’ve had them for almost a year and they’ve held up well. Very comfy, I think good for the gym but I don’t think I’d run in them. I sized up to 91/2 from my usual nine as reviews said. The navy is very versatile. I also have the pink which I had to stalk. Hope you enjoy them!

    2. I'm glad your tummyache turned into a positive with the addition of some wanted items! Speaking of popbacks - has anyone seen the silk maxi sarong dress in paisley during a mid-nite restock?

    3. @jan, well that is good to hear, I sure hope they arrive! I am very fussy about my running sneakers too. There are the good pair (the newest), the rain&mud pair, the demoted-to-gym pair(s), plus the trunk-of-car emergency pair(oldest). I have also washed and then retired some old running shoes to Mexico.

@Cheritheberry - Except it could get expensive! Sometimes the midnight restocks are after 5am, but last night was midnight.

    4. No doubt! That is when I make most of my purchases. I like to think myself highly skilled at the hunt of the elusive popback, and I just decided to pursue the dress recently, but I was unsure if my effort is futile. Since this morning I have seen two different sizes pop up so I will keep looking :)

    5. re: paisley silk sarong - full range of sizes at Nordstrom’s this morning. Full price, too, though.

    6. @Cheritheberry, I tried the silk sarong dress and for me it ran really large. Not sure if you’ve tried it on before. I usually take a 0 in Jcrew dresses, I tried a 0 in the yellow tiered maxi and it fit (tad loose in bust) but the 0 I ordered in the silk sarong was huge on me. I don’t know if sizing down to 00 would’ve still been too big. I’m small chested though.

    7. @wellfedfred, thank you but no go on the full price!
@jan, that is very helpful! I'm sorry it didnt' work for you, but thanks for sharing your insight!

    8. I think Nordstrom would price match a Jcrew promo. It is a beautiful dress, good luck!

  2. Madewell promo has extra 40% off sales. Trying. the Naida half bow sandal in dusty clay which runs narrow in a size 6, so I might reorder a 6.5. Good deal, $35 after discount. Also would like to try the Tretorn Nylite perforated sneaks in mauve, on promo, so the 40% can be taken off.

    1. What is happening with their mobile site though? I’m having issues choosing items (item comes up with no sizes but doesn’t say it’s sold out?) and it’s not letting me check out. Still sad about the way they changed the wish list function, too - it’s so much harder to maneuver and visually a jumble. Boo.

    2. I don’t like their new ‘Wishlist’ aka Favorites. It won’t even let you wishlist the size and color of the item.
And you can’t zoom in the photos. I like zooming in the fabric up close...
I hope they fix the flaws.

    3. I placed an order at Madewell this morning and still haven’t received an order confirmation and it’s not showing up in my order history. So, I just called and she said it was there but they are backed up somehow. The new website is truly terrible. Even the check out process seems more cumbersome instead of easier (like you would thing with an update). I mentioned all of this to the customer service representative and she acted like I was the first person to complain about it. I highly doubt that!!!

    4. You’re certainly not the first. The CS rep I spoke to said they’ve been getting a lot of feedback regarding the wishlist. Other bugs include the fact that items aren’t showing sizes to add to bag, which was why I called. He looked at two different systems and saw that there were indeed sizes left (naturally not the one I needed, of course) but the customer couldn’t see what he could. Yikes. He took down a bunch of my comments to send to IT. Whether or not that amounts to anything, who knows but I felt better speaking up about how difficult it is to shop the new site.

    5. I was about to post and say I ordered three items but when I went to check the, items are in my bag and the order didn't go through.
I actually saw it go through and have no idea what is going on.
What a pain. And the website stinks. I can't see sizes and pics are all blurry.

    6. I tired to order one thing this morning and kept hitting the "place order" button to no avail. Eventually I gave up. Not sure how this is good for business.

    7. I emailed so I'll see if they say anything. Honestly I don't care about what I ordered but for the future of the company they should address the website issues. I can barely stand to look at it.

    8. I gave up, too, after a frustrating 10 or so minutes on the site. Do I remember right that they recently hired Starbucks' web/mobile guru?

  3. I think it was Cheritheberry who posted about Lord and Taylor having the mesh tretorn last week. Since the colors jcrew had didn't work for my palette I decided to give these a try in natural and black, and also got a pair in black suede with stars. They were about $20 each. I never looked closely at the ones jcrew offered but the mesh on these is like a heavy tight weave fishnet, kind of cottony feeling. Since I spend a lot of time on dusty sidelines in the summer sometimes I don't like wearing sandals and regular sneakers get hot. These are perfect for that. They're super lightweight and comfortable. My smaller size seems to fit fine, just above my toe. (Reviews said they ran big but I might have been fine either way, though if your feet are narrow you might want to size down).
The ivory is ok, but I love the black because of the contrasting white sole and toe.
