Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Anybody have the following...
Short sleeve knit dress in charcoal in a tall large
Easy tunic dress in navy in a tall medium

I ordered regular sizes (large in knit and medium in tunic) and they’re just a tad short for me.

  2. Thanks for posting the discount codes, Mygoddy. I used JCSM18 and THESKIMM to order 8 slim perfect fit tees @ $10.10 each. Sadly, I’m not a student or educator so no addtl discount for me, but I’m still very happy with the price. Between coffee/cooking stains and cat claws, I’m ridiculously hard on t-shirts.

I haven’t been doing much shopping lately (no need!) but I placed three orders in the past few hours using holiday discounts. In addition to J.Crew, I ordered a new battery for my Roomba @ 30% off and I ordered jeans from Levis with an additional 40% off the clearance price. I’ve been watching the price on those jeans gradually decrease but I couldn’t say no to the current promo.

  3. I worked last night and we started a new promo. In store 30% off most items with the regular exclusions (Liberty print, branded items, etc). Also 50% promo off a LOT of items - tees, shorts, dresses and more (instead of the 30% off). Both are stackable with an additional 20% off when using or opening a J Crew card. No add'l % off sale, unless you use a JCC. Hope this helps!

    1. I thought someone had heard/said sale was going to be a % off?
      I was waiting...

    2. @unknown I posted that since I was told that by an SA. She was very specific about sale being a % off, even mentioning that it had been a while. Will see if my stores offer something this weekend or early next week for the 4th of July holiday. Current online promo ends 7/1. So, we'll see what comes next for online.

  4. So the white Slim boyfriend jeans are back in stock in my size at $24.85. However when I put them in my cart the price is $77. Don’t feel like going through the hassle of contacting customer service. In fact all the super cheap items from yesterday show up as way more expensive when you add them to the cart even though they still show at the low price in the sale section. What the heck is going on?

    1. Update. The prices have been updated to the more expensive ones I am seeing in my cart. I wonder if yesterday’s super sale prices were an error. I am guessing maybe that price was supposed to be for shorts but not jeans.

    2. I thought the same about the prices - the seersucker Parke is back to over $100, now wishing I'd grabbed it yesterday.

  5. Just wanted to mention two gems that i bought this week. I posted pics and reviews of the Lucite and crystal earrings and ruffle neck top in cotton poplin in navy. Plan to wear those two together!

    1. Those earrings look so nice. Is it bad of me to say that the colors will be great going into the fall?

  6. I had the same problem. I called CS and they adjusted it, and added the 20% off promo.
    Worth the call!

  7. Just placed three separate orders of $100+ so that I could maximize the JCSM18 code for $20 off, stacked with the 20% off THESKIMM code. I ended up paying $5 for shipping on one order, but this strategy still saved me $35 overall. I've been interested in the linen button-back shift dress and it is now eligible for promos, so I ordered that in two colors, plus a couple of new sale markdowns.

    1. I tried that dress on Wednesday night and was going to purchase it last night at work - until I bought the white boyfriend jeans and seersucker blazer online yesterday. It's high quality and soft linen. The pockets are great. In my opinion the kind of dress I'd have forever. Hope you love it!

    2. I ordered all 3 colors in the linen button back dress and love it!! It's the best purchase I've made a J Crew in a long time. I'm at 6 - 8 and took a small in the dress. Love that it was available in tall. I think you will love it!

    3. I bought it in the red and navy. It's a great dress! One of my favorite recent purchases for sure.

    4. And it's excluded from all promos :-(

  8. I am working this weekend so I have no plans to go to the store but I placed an order this morning. I stacked the JCSM18 & THESKIMM promos. This was the first purchase in almost a month! I grabbed the Shiraz tee. It will be perfect for our summer wine on the patio nights. My husband and the neighbors will get a kick out of it. I also ordered the easy pull on pant in matte crepe in both black and navy item G8705 to try in a tall for extra length. I also grabbed a lucky popback of the Drake’s horseback rider floral popover which I have been stalking for awhile.

  9. I'm not sure I will get to a store this weekend but I am still perusing the sale section and I will have some returns which I'll probably do on one of my days off next week. My white button fly jeans and shorts shipped, still no movement on the slim boyfriend jeans. I have a few orders coming today/tomorrow - I noticed shipping has been fast and they seem to have discounted pricing on expedited shipping - $10 for 2 day and $15 for 1 day and no option for the surepost economy shipping.

Yesterday I got the black ruffle coverup/romper - size M (I'm 6 top / 8 bottom) and it's cute for the pool at $10. I foolishly keep trying to find bikini tops that I'm not busting out of (sz 34E) - the halter bikini top is a return for me. I commented on another thread about the half moon crystal earrings - they're really cute but the stud at the top of the earring is large and they pull my earlobes down considerably even though they don't feel heavy. I need to see how they look on my second hole.

    1. ok, another order...lol. Fuschia tweed dress, oversized denim jacket (have had my eye on this - wondering if I can pull it off), black Cabana sunglasses (have these in tortoise and love them). The sunglasses are a great deal at $39 before the discounts. Jacket is still a little pricy but we'll see what the weekend deals reveal and go from there.

    2. Yep, I placed another set of orders today too, LOL! Ordered white denim boyfriend jeans (CS adjusted price), linen button back dress, Sean Hornbeak tuxedo stripe white jeans and navy wrap around sandals. I've ordered several linen items with the recent stackable promos; I've seen the items in store and the quality is good. Promo prices are a definite plus and items will get lots of wear. Wish J Crew was offering linen basics like the tanks this year. I buy those every year and have been grabbing the popbacks when in my size.

    3. I miss the linen Vneck tees and linen or cotton sweaters. Sigh!

  10. What do y'all think of the Independence t-shirt?

  11. I caved on the wrap top in stripe (a pop back) and solid blue plus the pleated midi in rust. All classic work pieces. With the code stacking the prices were great (plus I sold some stuff so net is near zero). I really want the leap part sandals but holding out for a better price.

Does anyone have the party dot silk blouse? I love it but it gaps quite a bit. I want to take it to the tailor and have her see it down or add some snaps but wondered how others have felt about the quality and whether this is worth the investment? I love it with the skirt plus I mix it with so much in my closet too. Just curious if it’s love from those that own it.

  12. I won't be visiting this weekend. M.Gemi had a sample sale here in Boston yesterday (and tomorrow!) so that's where my money went. I was at Copley yesterday and didn't even bother walking through J.Crew. I just don't want to spend my money there, regardless of the low prices. Sigh.

  13. Are they doing midday sale updates now? Could have sworn it was around 1400 when I left for work this AM and now it’s 1600+ and I definitely noticed some things that weren’t around this morning.

  14. Advice on sweater blazer sizing? The old one, in 100 percent merino. I'm 5'10'' and typically a T0/T2, Tippi size S, but now pregnant. Will the small sweater blazer look huge in a weird way, or just a bit oversized/comfortable as I grow? I need to decide between xs and s, as I can't return due to where I live. Maybe 1 of each?

    2. If you can't return to a store, you might want to consider paying with Paypal. They will reimburse you for return shipping costs. I thought it was too good to be true, but it is indeed true. There is some small print (max of 12 times year and max of $30 reimbursed each time in Canada at least). Just be sure to read the instructions. I got reimbursed within a couple of days the couple of times I've used this service.

If you pay with Paypal and use this return service, you could order both sizes and return one (or both) and get reimbursed

    3. thanks Toronto Modern! it's actually that I'm overseas and I ship to a family address in the US, and they mail to me from there, so I have to decide before then if it's a keeper or not!

    4. stripedsocks, unless you are especially broad-shouldered, I'd recommend the XS. I'm typically a 4/6/S and have the open-front sweater blazer in four colors, all XS. It fit comfortably loosely, without looking sloppy, and I think would remain so even with a baby bump (been there, done that, wish this style had been available to me then!).

      Delete
    5. Thank you M! I will stick with the xs! I could only get the navy and black in xs, had the heather khaki in small, fingers crossed it comes back in stock!

    6. I agree about the XS sizing -- I am 5'9", size 0-2, small in Tippi. I had bought the S initially, but am so happy I exchanged for XS. In my opinion, it looks more polished in a smaller size, while still being comfy and super versatile. You will love it (and congrats!)

  15. I didn't see anything very exciting on sale at the store yesterday. Just a small table with the 50% off items. Although today there is a 30% off storewide sale. It's hard to keep up with the sales changing every day.

  16. Thank you so much for the codes! I just bought two scoop-neck Tencel T-shirts, a Point Sur peasant blouse and the long-sleeved shirt dress for $112! A fantastic deal. I've changed jobs several times in the past decade (and finally have a terrific new gig), am not as slim as I once was, have a ton of bills and need clothes! The savings are a big help!

  18. I have to go to my local store to return the pajamas that were sent with no bottoms! Wonder if someone returned the top and kept the bottoms?

Plus returning several eyelet funnel shirts - struggling to get a fit with this shirt. I am keeping the black 4 tall. Reviews said it ran small, but I think it is large in the middle of the body. Based on the reviews, I ordered an 8 and was swimming in it. Then I could not find a 6, so I ordered a 6 tall, which was also too big. Finally, the 4 tall and a 6 regular in white. The white fit ok, but I prefer the black shirt. So I am still on the fence with the 4 tall, as the sleeves are a bit long.

    1. Great customer service. I called after I returned the pajama set, and the associate honored the same price on a different set (which I like better anyway). Thanks J Crew!

    2. I ordered the black watch flannel pjs a few months ago and got the top but no bottom. JC refunded me the money and insisted I keep the top. I was told that if it ever comes back in my size I could order again and they’d honor the price I originally paid. To this day I wonder how the topa and bottoms for sets get returned without each other.

      Delete
    3. So yours was the top too. Just the bottoms would be more wearable than just the top!

      Delete
    4. @pbanos yes I pointed that out to them when they insisted I keep the top. I almost insisted they take it back just because closet space is so precious to me.

  19. Ordered the "Jane of all trades" shirt yesterday. Have been thinking about it since it came out. Also ordered the Firecracker tee, black easy pant (great for work travel) and a replacement navy striped boatneck tee. Used JCSM18 and THESKIMM. I think today's 30% would have been better but not going to fight to get it price adjusted as the end prices yesterday were all reasonable and I don't want the stress :)

    1. In the US can't you stack all the codes...all three! I'm in Canada they don't work here sadly...I have read of numerous codes plus educator"s discount all being applied.
I always feel envious at first...then i think .. well I can live without it.

  20. @mygoddy I so regretted not getting the Ratti In Rio popover during the last flash sale in early June. I just purchased it today but feel foolish knowing that it was a steal during one of those flash sales and am thinking it may go on super sale next week. Do you remember what price the top was during the flash sale?

    ReplyDelete

    1. @Minnie, I didn't purchase the popover. I bought the cropped rash guard in the Ratti Rosignol. Maybe one of the other JCAs can chime in to help.

  21. not fond of any of the point sur items. very "beachy" so too expensive for me to invest in. the drapey crinkle cotton beach pants...are sheer even in the navy. the pull on crinkle midi skirt is over priced for a elastic waist skirt...the colour really is very plain ivory, the embroidered stretch skirt is so short it is probably only for around the pool ...unless you get the tall. even then you would have to be in fairly young to pull the point sur items off in general. the seem very "20 something" to me.
I popped in the Canadian Vancouver Store today. surprised ..it was so cluttered. the mercantile dresses are there and alot of tassles every where. I left empty handed after a hug return. must have took them 15mins to do it..The store was not empty but not really full either. no one was at the cash reg...buying when I was there.

  22. Visited both Vancouver downtown stores this morning. No extra % off sale just signs up suggesting 30% off full price. JC so off the mark this weekend compared to other retailers in the same mall/street locations. Banana Republic nearby offering extra 50% off sale as well as mark down % on many full price garments stacked with an additional 20% off full price in stores this weekend.
Zara was a sea of second/third round markdowns, although such an uncurated jumble, that I had no patience to sift through the racks.

  23. I picked up the short sleeve tie neck cashmere sweater, another supima tee and the blue floral pj top. Total with the two stacked codes was less than the sale price of the cashmere sweater alone! I was going to wait for the July 4 promo to order anything but 10% ebates was very convincing.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I ordered again, too. The long sleeve navy tie waist dress and the ankle wrap espadrilles with pompoms. I thought the dress would go cheaper since it still has a full size run, but Ebates pushed me over the edge. That's a great deal you got eeps!

  25. Has anyone tried the ruffle wrap dress? It was excluded from previous promotions but was eligible for this discount so I ordered black and navy? I'm worried it will be so thin as to require a slip, which would kinda defeat the purpose of an easy summer dress.

    1. I tried it on last week. It's nice. The navy did not require a slip that I noticed. My co-workers also liked it.

It was clingy and the material felt thin-ish too me. Fit is TTS
