  1. For my fellow Canadians - based on recent comments from JCAs about how they were enjoying looking through their order history pictures, I stumbled upon a discovery. What we see as Canadians when we choose "order history" is very different from what American customers see. We don't get a helpful order history. We see a measly five most recent orders. If you want to access orders before the ones displayed, you need the actual J Crew order number! You cannot hit a "back" button or next or page number or anything like that. But based on recent comments about order history, I was curious. If I change the shipping destination country to the US and log into my J Crew account, I get the beautiful order history presentation that Americans get. I can page through the past orders and see little pictures of everything that was in the order, with return items readily indicated.

I can't believe I have been missing out on this feature for literally years!

I have a shocking number of pages of orders. Perhaps if I had known about this feature, I would not have bought so much over the years...

    1. Unless I am mistaken this feature only because available in the US a few months ago. Prior to that we could only see the most recent 5 or you needed an order number.

    2. Toronto Modern, so glad you found a way to get the same view of Order History as here in the US. It’s quite the “a-ha” moment!

  2. Yeap, JessF you’re right! In the 7years I’ve been shopping with J Crew I have accumulated 95 pages of order history. I feel sick to my stomach. Mainly because nearly 60% of the items I've actually kept in the past 2years have long been discarded due to poor quality and general crappiness.

    1. My history only goes back to 2015 for whatever reason but it is eye opening. I am feeling guilty about my flash sale purchases from last week that arrive today. Yes they were all under $10 a piece but they were all items I never even glanced at and purchased because they were cheap. I expect the quality will be low which I guess is fine for what i paid but seriously I should not allow myself to get sucked in to low prices.

    2. It’s insightful to see both the good and the bad of one’s J Crew purchase decisions over time!

I am most appalled by the items I wore once or twice, or not at all. What a waste of resources, mine as well as those who make and sell the
garments. I would have been better off buying fewer and better. I think my guilt over one-use plastics has transferred to J Crew for one-use garments lol!

  3. Mine was pretty bad too. From the past few years I only kept about 40% of what I ordered online and from the past two years I probably only still wear 25% of what I kept and from 3 years ago I only have less than 10% of what I purchased.

Definitely eye-opening. Thankfully I have since cut back tremendously on what I've purchased because everything is just so, so bad. Maybe J.Crew's declining style and quality is doing me a huge favor. :)

  4. I've found another use for the order history recently: remembering what size I bought of something (that I had returned) in order to rebuy the item now on eBay!

I am really bummed about the direction that J Crew has taken. I cannot find a thing to buy, but because I haven't invested in summer clothes in a few years, I really need to refresh my closet. Remember the days when you would order a number of items and then end up having to choose between them so as not to break the bank? I have a list of things that I once tried and regretfully returned that I've been stalking on eBay. I have managed in the past few weeks to collect a paisley pencil skirt, several tunics, tipped linen and solid cotton blazers, even a glen plaid pencil skirt from 2011 and a Lexington jacket (I'm fearing the worst for fall/winter as well). The Lexington is incredibly well made, and even though on me I think it looks like a uniform, I am keeping it out of pure nostalgia for the brand. I will never, ever part with a single Robert Noble jacket (or Thomas Mason shirt, for that matter). They don't seem to be collaborating with Thomas Mason anymore, at least there hasn't been a single item in the past few rollouts.

J Crew fits me well, and it used to fit my style: like some others here I've been shopping the brand with a few hiatuses (college rebellion) since the mid 1980s. BTW, for those who were commenting several days ago about not being able to search old items on the J Crew website, and getting a blank page-this seems to be working again now!

  6. Received Silk paisley sarong maxi dress today. This dress is lovely; the silk is a nice lightweight quality; the print and colors are vibrant and beautiful. Took my normal size. Love the pockets and the halter style is very flattering. It's sold out on J Crew (for now), but Nordstrom has a full size run.

Gaia Pom Pom Bag in Stripe - This is an oldie, but decided to try it as a casual bag for summer and travel. Gaia supports a great cause and the bag is really cute. I like the denim stripe pattern on one side and a cotton fabric stripe pattern on the other side, so you have 2 options. There's a Gaia plate sewn on the front, the pom poms are a pretty yellow. I had to add another chain with more length because of my height in order for the cross body to hang at my hip.

Saint James stripe sweatshirt & Saint James Unisex Meridien Stripe shirt in red/blue stripe. Both were a "magic hour" order. Definitely size up in the sweatshirt. I sized down in the shirt because it's made for men too. I'm happy with the fit in both. I'm a fan of St. James and try to buy it whenever I can catch it on sale. They're well done and the type of quality you'd expect from Saint James.

Women's 1993 Favorite tank in lilac. Wanted to try this tank and ordered during 40% promo. The color is really pretty and fit is tts. Nice spring/summer tank.

Bead and stone earrings. Lightweight and I really like the mix of colors. Very pretty earrings, but I thought they would be a little brighter. They're more muted than I expected. Still recommend. Will be really pretty with the silk print sarong dress, white linen sundress, etc.

  7. Check your packages for a "Hello Summer" insert. It has a coupon inside for $20 off $100 purchase. Can be used in store or online.

  8. Went to the Williamsburg location to search the J.Crew x HRC Love First tee. They didn't have them on display and I asked the sales rep on the floor. They searched in the back telling me they were sold out. After using their restroom, I came out to find the sales rep holding one in my size! Plus, they gave me a navy and black striped canvas tote (I think from their previous event) with my purchase! I love this location!
