Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Probably no visit for me this weekend, although I have a pile of returns to make at some point. 15% and double points if you use your JC card - no extra % off sale online but there are a lot of new very low markdowns - $9.99/$19.99 on quite a few items - rugby shirts below $10, eyelet funnel neck top is $19.99 to name a few. I didn't check out fast enough to try two sizes of the Ratti Rossignol floral tank swimsuit so hoping the one I got worked ($36 before discount) as well as a few l/s 365 tees for $9 and the round signet bag in chestnut for $51 before discount.

    1. I picked up 2 more rugby shirts @ $7.64 each. I already have several but I do wear them a lot when it's chilly out, so they're a good deal for me. Also, 2 pairs of slim boyfriend jeans in Creston wash @ $27.19. Not the best price I've found, but there was a new markdown this morning and I've had these on my wish list for a while.

    2. Hope the bathing suit works, but at least you got it at the sale price if you need to do an exchange :)
What do you think of the 365 tees? I've been curious.

    3. Cheri - I have a few of the s/s 365 tees and really like them - they aren't flimsy, have a nice drape and just an overall nicer looking t-shirt. I'm always looking for basics like this so for the price picked up a black and grey for cooler weather. I'm a s/m in tees and take a medium in these.

    4. Thank you. I have cuddle duds ones (of all brands) that I can get away with wearing under a cardigan or open knit sweater at work, and am looking for something similar.

  2. Same here.... missed out on a star cashmere sweater for $20..., ughh...too slow today....lol

  3. Ugg I got sucked into the super low prices and ordered a few $12 blouses and sweaters. Mostly items I tried on and liked but as I don't need another sweater I resisted...until now. Thankfully not final sale, so I can always rethink this moment of weakness and figure what items I really need for work etc.

    1. Some of those sweaters were just released! I briefly considered trying a couple, but sweaters aren't particularly appealing to me when it's 90+ degrees and humid.

  4. I picked up the star cashmere sweater, eyelet blouse, the pineapple s/s tippi, striped button shoulder turtleneck, and a rugby. I took too long and was unable to purchase my first choice sizes in the star sweater and the eyelet blouse so I went with an XXS and a 2T, rather than an XS and 4.

    2. If the star cashmere sweater doesn't end up working for you, would you let me know? I'm happy to do a chargesend from the store you retrun it to, or take it off your hands. I missed it this morning!

    3. I just bought the star cashmere at Rockefeller center store in NYC. They had 2 Smalls and 2 xxs all in the back... they priced matched it
Also, picked up the short sleeve stripe tippi for $13.... both are great fits.... cashmere little loose... but they had no xs.... still happy with purchase....

  5. Site must be busy, can't get it to load.

  6. I also got sucked into placing an order. Ordered 4 tops and a sweater for $50. Can’t beat that. Of course I didn’t need any of it. Got the rugby shirt, voile popover in floral block, tie waist tee in stripe, 365 tee and striped button shoulder turtleneck. We’ll see What works. Happy to find a few pieces here and there.

  7. I'm considering the chambray bodysuit...any opinions or advice? I wear a 6 in most shirts.

  8. Some incredible deals this morning, and I missed them all because things have been so uninteresting on their site lately. But while I love to get good prices on clothing, I worry that these rock bottom items are a tangible symptom that J. Crew's demise is becoming real. I hope not. I pray they can right the ship, but I must admit that the Crew used to be my top shopping destination and I haven't been in a store in months.

    1. I agree, Anthro Blogger. They really felt that they had to sell their "Heritage" rugby shirt and stripe rollneck sweater for $7 and $10? And they're going to be making some kind of comeback in the fall? This looks more like a going out of business sale.

      Delete
    2. I didn't see it that way at all. I think they are trying to see if a pop up sale entices buyers to their site. If people that don't regularly visit J. Crew receive an email where they can get a $10 long sleeve top and click through, maybe they'll then browse further. The company are obviously trying all sorts of different promotions to see what works. A 24-hour flash sale commitment is not much money wise in the grand scheme of things. I remember Neimans used to do a mid-day dash and I looked forward to it every day and kicked around the site afterwards.

    3. Hi Cheritheberry - I see what you're saying. It seemed odd and out of place for JC, but then I remember shopping back in the day when a 20% off sale or a $20 off $80 coupon in a catalog was a big deal. ; )

      Delete
    4. Hi Silver - yes, because that's all you got! and you were one of the lucky ones to get that much!

    5. J Crew definitely got my money today. I'm going to try the Ratti ruffle shirt and the fruit Jackie, along with some other tops. I missed out on the star cashmere. J Crew should do this more often to clear out the sale section. Noticed there are still lots of really old items at high prices. Those need to go because I'm sick of looking at them - ha!

    6. So is this a flash sale? I thought it was just further markdowns. JC got my money too - got the 365 tee, bow front cardigan, pineapple Tippi, and the green rugby shirt. I am not a rugby shirt type but OMG the price. I owe it to the shirt to try.

    7. Christmas is coming, so I ordered the rugby shirts for my teen cousins. Ordered suede tropical floral sandals since they received another markdown. Also received collection pleated eyelet skirt today. It was a sale popback. Fit is tts. Wasn’t sure I would like it, but it’s lovely and the scallop hem is . Island Floral headband can be worn around the neck as a skinny tie scarf, so that’s another winner from new arrivals. The knotted espadrille stripe slides have a very comfortable foot bed. I was skeptical but they’re going to work fine. They run short, IMO, so reordered a size up. Also reordered Liberty floral wrap around sandals in a size up.

    8. So - the rugby shirts - I looked earlier thinking I might scoop up the red stripe one but that was sold out and just navy stripe and gold stripe were left. I have the gold stripe already so decided it was a pass. Then later I realized that the gold stripe that I have is a factory item. I don't think they did a gold stripe for retail unless there was a later release? I am very happy with the gold stripe and the quality is fine - I'll be interested to hear if what people get in the orders is a factory item or a retail one.

      Delete
    9. And now I realize there are two links for rugby shirts - one with the red stripe and other sale ones, and the other with navy stripe and gold stripe at full price. Still wondering if the gold will be factory or retail though - it looks exactly like the factory one from spring!

  9. Eeps, the email's subject read "24 hours only: sale picks starting at $5.99!" and the body said online only. Good buys! I'm especially excited for the pineapple tippi :)

    1. AH! I never got an email about the sale (but I still get puppies and Look what's in your shopping cart! emails) - I was just checking the sale section as I do every morning when I saw the markdowns.

      Delete
    2. The really good markdowns were not showing up at 4:10 am CST. I did place a ship to store order at that time because a pair of jeans I've been wanting popped back in my size. Thank goodness there is still no final sale.

  10. Random question: Does anyone know if Nordstrom online ever has popbacks? I skirt I like is sold out in my size, is it worth stalking the site to see if one gets returned or do I give up? :D

  11. I didn't really see anything I was interested aside from the eyelet funnelneck which I already tried at a higher price. The low sale price made me reconsider but I think it's already gone.

I did return the island floral jacket and pj pants. 😭 reality bites. 😂

I also did return the gingham shorts with eyelet trim that were reduced to 14.99. I was tempted for sure but the factory scallop in gingham will get more use and I really don't need two pairs of black and white gingham shorts! I did like these enough to order the solid black and white. Tempted to get the red too but how many do I really need.

  12. I got everything I wanted from the latest roll out- sundress in paisley cotton. Now I'm waiting for the next roll out. No need to go to the store. The dress is wonderful and can fit DD cup. The bra cups do not show at top so as long as my bra straps blend in with the dress I can wear it with the regular bra.

  13. Will be heading to Brookfield and the Fifth Ave stores today for pickups (ugh why didn't I choose the same store). Will report on new rollouts if anything looks good (or if anything looks REALLY bad).

    1. Brookfield has most of the site’s new arrivals. Only things I noticed not on the site were a ruffle collar gingham bomber jacket in seersucker, and some more tees. One tee was an artist collab with summer things printed (like the pretzel tee but ice cream pops), and a khaki tee with two large flamingos embroidered in neon pink (kind of cute). The bonjour Sailor tee has a sweatshirt version. There’s a blue striped tiered maxi skirt embroidered with yellow pineapples.

  14. Vent: the order I placed on Monday, that shows a promised delivery date of 6/4 or before, still hasn’t shipped and I need my shorts. Even if they’re still working this late in the shipping area, which I doubt, and they overnight the order, I think it’s past the cut off for Monday delivery. I just called customer service to inquire about the hold up and she couldn’t have been less helpful. Apparently on her screen the promised date is 6/5 (Tuesday) so why am I even bothering her?

    1. the new shopping to Canada is a gong show. never know when to except pkg, but it usually about two weeks including weekends. I always forget what I ordered by the time I get it

    2. I’m seriously considering cancelling the order and picking up a few pairs of shorts at the Gap instead. I could be done and back home in an hour.

  15. Well it looks like most of my $10 scores from yesterday are now being cancelled. I ordered 6 things and 3 have cancelled already. I'm a bit perturbed since items like the merino boatneck sweater had a full run in my size/color and was even still available much later in the day then at 6 am when I ordered. They also canceled my v-neck pocket tunic and a mens dress shirt. :(

    1. Well this is not good to hear. Wonder if many people will receive cancellations. I ordered 5 of the super cheap items and like you all appeared to be a full size run and not only a few left. It is not like I need any of the items I ordered anyway.

      Delete
    2. My order was cancelled too. The item I ordered was the short sleeve tippi sweater with letters for $12.99. It was full size run when I ordered it yesterday. Not happy:(

      Delete
    3. And to add insult they just sent me a puppy email to thank me for my recent order (in which half was cancelled). These are starting to really make me mad.

      Delete
    4. Merino boatneck was back in stock this morning, reordered, so we'll see if it ships or gets cancelled.

  16. My sweater was cancelled. Disappointed to say the least as when I purchased there were 8 left in stock.

  17. Add me to the list of cancellations. Three items, zero shipped.

If we are giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are “testing” flash sale promo strategies, they should really have their sh*# together before they botch the execution and leave customers with a worse brand impression than before.

    1. I am wondering if the whole sale was an error...why do it if you don't have the items.

    2. No cancellations here yet, but nothing has shipped either. The last time I ordered some early morning popbacks, 5 of 8 items were cancelled, but not until several days later. How does that even happen? Do they really have that poor of a grasp on their inventory?

    3. Hope you get lucky this time, Jeanne!

  19. Off topic, but Banana Republic's sale this weekend is 20% off your order and 40% off sale. What they don't tell you is that these two discounts are stacked on sale merchandise, AND you also get the extra 10% off for using a Gap family card if you have one. I just got 8 items for $140 (and only two of them are polyester :) ). Great deals to be had, especially on their washable merino sweaters.

  20. My Uncoated Downtown Field Jacket in Tuscan Olive arrived yesterday. Every once in a while a J Crew item restores my decades-long faith in the company, and this is one of them. I waited until a super sale with my Rewards because I already have the regular coated version in two colors. It’s on sale for 59.99 and still available in a good size range.

It’s a gorgeous rich green in a soft, medium-weight cotton that is more form-fitting and not stiff like the coated version. Not flashy and not new, but a well-made and stylish workhorse.

    2. Love the idea of a running list of standouts to combat the ever widening sea of mediocrity and disappointment.

To add to that list I nominate the Campbell pant (in two or four way stretch?). There is still room for improvement but it's the best pant they've made in years IMO.

    3. Love love love the Campbell. I know it’s only for certain body types but the Martie has been my go to pants for two years now.

  22. I have to make a return so yes unfortunately. I really like the Campbell pant (stretch fabric except no stretch in the waist) aside from the fact that it is hard to get on and off due to no waistband stretch. I wish they offered other colors like a non-bright white neutral that works for me. Hate the mercantile items that took up a considerable part of the store last week. Love that there is swimwear in store now (never carried swimwear before but for a brief minute when they only stocked reject styles), but the fabrics are thin, flimsy, and feel super cheap. Agree with others that the Playa collection is rather terrible. Like the funnelneck shirts a lot. The stripe ones feel like sateen. The chambray one felt more nubby (?). They didn't have the solid color ones in stock. Women's denim seemed still good quality (no Point Sur) but it's hard to tell which styles are what. As with denim everywhere, too many options, too subtle differences, too hard to shop. Kids denim terrible fabric. No customer service whatsoever. No one acknowledged me the entire time I was in store, no one ever asked if I needed help or a different size or style in the dressing room. Had they asked, I might have inquired about denim options and placed an in store order, but will put it off.
