  1. Not a vent: I hope the crew will have early access because there a few items I like from kristymayn IG account that she took from the Brookfield store.
Ooh and hopefully % off full price.

  2. Does anyone have reviews on the tweed swing coat? I'm now more interested due to the longer length. I know I've seen reviews on insta, maybe ot was fablife? I'll check when I get to the office. Thanks!

    2. That's a relief because I bought it as the other sizes were selling out. This morning I couldn't find anything I wanted to wear that was long enough for work to go with my Pixie pants, so I'm always happy to have more choices.

  3. It seems like there will be no J Crew sample sale in NYC this year. WAHHH!

  4. So, had an item that had been cancelled from an order I placed during the crazy flash sale pop back this morning. I added it to a few other sale things so I could use my birthday reward. The base price today was $18.49, then I had the card holder discount and my birthday discount. The price during the flash sale was $8.49. When I chatted online with a rep, she said that I was only paying $4.86 and she couldn’t adjust the price further. I said that while that may be the final price, that was because I used a birthday reward and a card holder reward but that the base price had been $10 higher on an item that they had cancelled themselves. No budging. Am I wrong to think they should price adjust the base price because of their error?

    1. They usually compare the prior price to the current price and then credit the difference (for a prior purchase) or match the lower price on the cancelled item. Since you did not use your birthday discount when you ordered from the flash sale, applying it now to that item would be 'double dipping'.

Actually, I think the current practice of price-adjusting items originally bought on sale is generous, since it goes beyond the stated policy: "J.Crew gladly honors a one-time price adjustment on full-price merchandise within seven days of the retail purchase or mail-order ship date if accompanied by the original receipt. Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments."

    2. CS1, they should simply match the price you paid on the canceled item and then apply the birthday discount after. We should not be penalized for using our birthday discounts.

  5. I will be returning 3 out of 5 of my flash sale items. Will be keeping the striped rugby shirt and stretch 365 top. I will be returning the striped tie waist tee as it is short and unflattering and the striped button shoulder sweater which just sits weird at the neck. Also will be returning the cotton voile block floral tunic top. This is only ok. It is super thin and I would rather return and put the money towards a liberty floral top which I know I will like more and be better quality.

  6. I've noticed fewer descriptions of inseams or lengths of shirts. I think all dresses, sweaters, shirts, tops, pants and skirts should have the length listed. Several items do not have a fabric description. I also wonder what will happen to all of the crop tops or short tops that are not selling. As a tall person, even if it's not offered in tall sizes, sometimes I could purchase and wear the regular version, but now the regular version is way too short too.

    1. I often ask where all these pop backs and long lost items have been hiding but figured that they just linger in the warehouse behind newer boxed merchandise. However, I happened to be in the Lenox Mall JC one day and found TONS of items, mostly tops, but stuff that I had seen in the website's sale section just sitting for weeks and months. And the SA said they had more, more and more to put out. I cleaned up on $5 an $10 tops (final sale but an add'l 30% off) that I would have never thought to buy. So my answer is that they will show up in some major-selling JC BM on a $5 and $10 final sale rack at some point...or possibly at a TJM, just a matter of time.

    2. I think most stores still have tons of sale items in the back, plus all the sale returns get put back out in the floor in the sale rack.

  7. A picture of chihuahuas in bandannas lurks in my inbox.

All that design energy wasted. Pity.

    1. Ina, have you tried rubbing the zipper with the lead of a pencil? That always works for me.

    2. "Draw" with the pencil all over the stuck part of the zipper. Especially where the teeth interconnect. The lead contains something akin to silicone (for lack of a better comparison) that lets it slide more easily.

    3. Ok will try it! Ok hat would be so great if it works as i hate to return the dress

    4. Ina, you can also try Vaseline or WD40 (just on the zipper coils, not the fabric) to lubricate that spot. I have to do this often since I get my invisible zippers for my sewing projects in bulk and some are bound to be stiff. Nevertheless, how frustrating!

    5. Return it! I had a zipper issue with my tie waist shorts and it was the same sort of thing, then it broke. Now I need to bring it in for repair. Exchange it while you can.
