J.Crew Factory Special Valentines: 30% Off!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including PreppyPicnic (in this post), who shared the following promotion with us.

J.Crew Factory is offering 30% off everything and free expedited shipping by February 14 (Valentine's Day) with promo code XOXO. This offer expires today. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid on purchases made at jcrewfactory.com from February 10, 2014, 12:01am ET through 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in J.Crew Factory or J.Crew stores, at jcrew.com or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash. Offer can only be used in combination with the applicable site-wide discount being offered during the same period. Offer not valid on men's shoes, women's leather apparel, BAGGU®, Sperry Top-Sider®, Rainbow®, Toysmith™, Natural Products Ltd.™ merchandise, Speedo® Neonwonders® goggles, Speedo® Skoogles goggles or Calvert suede oxford shoes. Orders will be sent by expedited shipping for arrival on or before February 14, 2014. Return requests must be made in accordance with our return policy. To redeem online, enter code XOXO in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promo code per order. Offer valid in the U.S. only. Terms of offer are subject to change.
NOTE: What might not be so clear is that shipping charges still apply for orders under $100. I didn't get that at first as I wondered why my one item in checkout still had the shipping fee. If you read the fine print of the promotion, J.Crew Factory will just "upgrade" the shipping, not actual be free. Of course, J.Crew Factory does offer free shipping on all orders $100+.

This is a really nice promo. I like that it applies to all merchandise (and most of the regular priced stuff is on some kind of discount already, so customers can take another 30% off on top of that).

By the way, I am seriously crushing on both outfits in the image above. One works perfectly for the office and the other for a casual get together with friends. Whoever is styling the outfits, over at J.Crew Factory, is doing an amazing job. I almost want there to be a catalog for J.Crew Factory now. ;)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you interested in?

  1. Has anyone tried Factory swimsuits? I really like some of the patterns on the bikinis, but can't find any reviews... Does anyone know if the tops are padded or just lined?

    1. It seems like swimwear is new-ish to Factory. They may have had swimwear at Factory online, but that would have been back when J. Crew and Factory were part of the same website and it was more of a clearance section for retail. I don't recall seeing swimwear at Factory online since the website split. I've never seen swimwear at the Factory store I go to. I may be wrong, though, maybe warmer climates carry it in Factory stores. Anyway, hope you can find some reviews soon!

    2. Thanks cate! That would explain why I can't find much info. I was miraculously able to contact a CS person through chat on the regular site, and they said the factory triangle bikini tops are padded and the pads are removable (I was looking specifically at the triangle bikini top in dark cove paisley, item A3429). You would think that they would want to include that in the description...
I think with the extra 30% off I'll give it a try. Hopefully this info also helps someone else!

  2. For you Darby loafer fans, Factory has a beautiful new shoe (I bought it in-store over the weekend)...the Addie studded loafer in Riviera Sand. It's sand beige suede with small faceted gold jewels.

  3. The owl t-shirt is back if anyone missed out last year.

  4. Alexis, I agree about the styling, they are doing a good job at Factory!

  5. Hey, that's my name at the top! Thanks Alexis! I think you're right, it seems like there is still a $5 shipping charge for orders under $100, but then they expedite. I'm off today and had a couple glasses of wine last night so I think I was at the point where I was fuzzy with the fine print. Oops! I would still be ok with paying the $5 and getting my items faster though, especially since my order from a week ago isn't arriving until tomorrow. I need to try on my new skirt already!

  6. i'm sure this has been asked a million times already, but how do the factory Charlie sweaters compare to the tippi sweaters? I'm pretty sure i'm a small in the tippis and I can't remember if people said the charlies ran the same or bigger. :/

    1. Hi MissJR - I think that JCA consensus is that the Charley runs TTS/a teensy bit bigger than the Tippi, but not enough to warrant sizing down, so go with a small Charley if you're a small in the Tippi.

    2. I agree with silver-lining, I take a small in both. I found the charleys are a little thinner in the merino wool, can't comment on the cotton. But for $21 a great deal. I did bite on this promo, bought a merino charley, thorn necklace in violet and a final sale shirt but it was only $11 and looks nice in photo. I also love the free expedited shipping...

  7. I placed an order this morning (7:30 am EST) for two Charley sweaters and the order was well under $100 and I wasn't charged shipping. Just checked my order confirmation and the shipping is listed as $20 with 'shipping offer' right above it as -$20. Also an agreement with silver_lining above-I take my same size (small) in the Charley as I do in the Tippi.

  8. The shipping charge is taken off at the end of checkout. I placed two very small orders this morning and saw the same -$20 that jemimahj noted in her post. The notation said free 2nd day shipping, no min. Very, very nice!

  9. I finally bit on the Burgundy patent Martina's, which are supposedly the retail version. I have the black suede, which I wear to death (literally, they are coming apart at the seams).

I don't own a lot of factory stuff and while there's a factory store somewhat close by, I hardly ever go there. I've always been unimpressed by the quality of the stuff in store, so I'm hesitant to buy without seeing it. But, I've heard enough good things about these shoes, and free expedited shipping + 30% off was enough to get me to take the plunge.

    1. I agree I am usually disappointed with the factory items, don't like poly vs. silk. Sizing in pencil skirts was off last year compared to retail. The jewelry has been mostly miss for me but the charleys were a pleasant surprise. The only items I have had luck with is the button down shirts.

    2. I agree with you. I can't stand poly, and a number of items I have are just plain poorly made. Hems fall down all the time. But I will happily buy tees.

    3. you'll be happy you bought the shoes - I have them and love them! A great find for an even better price!

  10. Like everyone else says, the $5 shipping comes off by the end of checkout. I got the Factory Skinny Jean in Grey for $20.65 shipped!

    1. Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to get these tonight! I've been looking for a grey pair around $20 because I know I won't wear them that often, and I didn't want to pay $7 for shipping on an American Eagle pair! Yay, one more thing off my spring list!

  11. Someone posted again about the Factory Sylvias. The ones where JCAs are receiving retail, leather Martinas. Review here on 1060.

A new review here of the leather, colorblock envelope clutch, which nets $28 with XOXO.

  12. I don't own many Factory items, but the ones I do, I really love. I think this promo is pretty awesome, I nabbed the Cabarnet Martinas/Sylvias (and honestly, even if they're Sylvias, it's a good price). Love the free ship no min!

  14. Has anyone tried on the printed pleated tie-neck dress, or has seen any reviews of the dress? Thanks!

    1. JennC - I haven't tried the pleated tie-neck dress. It looks really cute under the denim jacket in the pic above It's an online only item, so something to keep in mind if you hadn't noticed that.

  15. How do the Factory Winnie's compare to retail Minnie's? The fit doesn't seem as good and I was also wondering about quality. Thanks.

    1. I think the material is thinner and the inseam is a hair shorter (maybe a centimeter or two).

The fit is pretty similar for me.

  18. Does the emery flats fit TTS or do I need to order 1/2 size uo like the Vivs? Thanks!

  19. XOXO still working fo 30% off & the expedited shipping. Should work thru 11:59 PST. Shop w/the Factory Irl Pic Guide.

  20. @ShopLV I wear the same size in the Vivs and the Emery flats. I found the Emery flats took a while to break in (longer than my Vivs) but once they're broken in I was in good shape. I love them...ordered an extra black and clay pair as backup when they were on clearance.
