If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

J.Crew Sample Sale This Weekend {Arden, NC}

A big "thanks!" to Aderonke & Emily, who let us know that J.Crew will be hosting another Sample Sale this weekend! Lots of merchandise for men, women, and the kids! Plus, a bit of Madewell stuff will be thrown into the mix.

I got a big ol' envelope from J.Crew, and it said "Lovely to Meet You" on the front. Inside was a giant lookbook of all their favorite pieces for the summer, along with unique code for 20% off next purchase in J.Crew stores or jcrew.com. I believe it's a card member's perk.

20% Off Women's Apparel {in stores & online!}

It's great to see another offer that is applicable to both online and in store purchases!

I am not sure if stores are still running an additional 30% off their Sale merchandise today. I know they still were as of yesterday, but unclear if J.Crew pulled it for this newest promotion.

J.Crew Factory: Enjoy 10-25% Off!

A big "thanks!" to A, who let us know about another offer from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering Factory Store shoppers a special treat. Customers can take 10% off any purchase of $75+ and 20% off any purchase of $125+ in stores (using the print-out). There is also a unique, one-time code for online purchases (this was removed before posting). Check your email to see if you got this email with a unique code!

This offer expires June 23, 2013. The weird part? The fine print reads that this offer is *not* valid at J.Crew Factory stores from May 23 through May 27, 2013. Um, okay.

JGIC Product Review: Two Seasons

A big "thanks!" to J.Crew Guy In Canada who is graciously reviewing Men's items from J.Crew with us.

Most people enjoy all four seasons but sadly far too often in my part of Canada we only have two; winter and construction.

The snow melts and the road work begins.  And we move from down jackets, heavy wool fabrics and boots to ..... ?  Yeah I scratch my head all the time as well, what do you wear when it's not quite summer and the temperature still dips and soars without warning.

Cotton pants are a lifesaver.  While not as polished or as wrinkle resistant as wool it's far cooler and usually easier on the wallet.  Bowery and Ludlow could be back for more in cotton but why not try something a little more worn looking.  A casual easy going option is the broken-in chino in classic fit #83687.  But why reach for the expected khaki colour?  Switch it up and try graphite.  Easy to wear, different look and as easy to match colours to as denim.  Dark brown shoes finish off the bottom half nicely or slip into a vintage sneaker like the Nike Air Epic #97424 in shaded blue.  On top try a washed fabric shirt, or polo or even a hoodie.  And wear a cotton belt like the ticking-stripe belt in #45886 in Rivington blue stripe to help work that warmer weather look.

Want to look slightly more polished but not too buttoned down?  Pick-up the waffle cardigan #47020 in heather thrush; a slightly grayish cream colour.  The cotton is so soft and the fit is still close to the body, but slightly more relaxed than the merino or cotton/cashmere choices from J.Crew.  This waffle number is as easy to wear as fleece and I love mine.  Works with denim or wool dress pants.  And the shawl collar is a nice change from the usual looking cardigans out there.
Shorts with a warmer layer on top is a always a decent way to go if you want to look slightly summer like but still be warm on those cooler weekend days/evenings.  Grab your favorite pair of washed shorts, say the Stantons #23863 in fisherman's grey, soft blue grey colour.  Top it with a sharp fleece that looks more like a sweater, #99119 the heavyweight shawl-collar pullover in stripe in navy.  The cream stripes across the chest give it a more dressed up look while it's still as easy as a sweatshirt.  And who doesn't like a nice fleece?

Living in Canada is awesome, I find the whole only two seasons bit challenging.
