Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER & FALL sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

J.Crew Presents their Spring 2011 Collection

"Thanks!" to so many of you including, jcbellemarie, gem twin, & silver_lining (in this post),who shared the following news.

J.Crew's SS2011 show is currently taking place right now for the Women's Collection. For live tweeting by Jim Shi, click here. I should also add that the above photo came from his tweets as well.

J.Crew's presentation for their Men's Spring Collection took place earlier today. For more information and photos (including the one directly above), refer to HypeBeast's "J.Crew 2011 Spring Presentation" post.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Spring 2011 Collection? Are you excited or disappointed by J.Crew's take?

J.Crew Email: Ends Saturday. 25% off all orders of $150+. NOW IN STORES too.

"Thanks!" to many of you, including JBird & Marietta, who shared the following email with us.

J.Crew is reminding us of their offer to take an additional 25% off your orders of $150+ with promo code FALLSALE. This offer expires Saturday, 11/6/10.

The fine print of the offer includes:
*Offer valid in J.Crew retail stores and at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew Factory stores or on J.Crew Factory items. Offer does not apply to previous purchases, alterations or the purchase of gift cards. Offer not applicable to third-party branded merchandise. 25% discount applies to orders of $150 or more before shipping, handling and taxes are added. Offer valid through Saturday, November 6, 2010, 11:59pm ET. Savings are applied at checkout with code FALLSALE. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion or redeemed for cash. Limit one promotional code per order.
From the sound of it, this promotion is not getting too many bites (since this offer does not include free shipping.) Hopefully the next promotion will include free shipping. :)

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's latest promotion? Do you think you will take advantage of it before it ends?

J.Crew of Seasons Past: November 2007!

As I mentioned in last week's "J.Crew of Seasons Past: Fabulous Finds!" post, I search for images of J.Crew pieces from seasons past to collect in my virtual J.Crew LookBook. Yesterday I posted some images from J.Crew's August 2007 catalog.

Today, I thought I would share the images found on the The Terrier and Lobster blog (click here) of J.Crew's November 2007 catalog. There is a little something for both women and men! Just click on any of the images to view them larger.

Once again... I love these images! I know I sound like a broken record, but I really do think the outfits, styles, and of course locations are all just gorgeous.

Wait there will be even more! Next week, I plan on posting images from J.Crew's catalog of Fall 2005. You will be amazed at how great the items from that year are as well. :)

What are your thoughts on these catalogs from the past? Do you enjoy looking through them for outfit inspirations? Do you find these looks classic (like I do) or do you think they are dated?

JCA attends the J.Crew Fall/ Holiday 2010 Insiders Fashion Event in NYC

As mentioned in the "J.Crew's Holiday 2010 Collection Is Here" and "J.Crew Fall/Holiday 2010 Insiders Fashion Event {N..." posts, J.Crew hosted an event with American Express to showcase their upcoming Holiday collection.

"Thanks!" to Roxy (in this post) who shared with us her experience at the fashion event:
I was at the event on Thursday nite. I thought J.Crew and American Express did an exceptional job putting on the event. They started letting people in promptly at 6:30, giving us each a small white envelope with our $25 gift cards inside. Inside (cute) caterers circulated with amuse bouches and cocktails, including a delicious pomegranate drink I want to learn how to make!

Ms. Lyons, Ms. Webb and Mr. Muytjens mingled with the crowd from the very beginning to the very end of the event, which was a welcome change from some events I've attended where the designers stay in a VIP section for most of the night and do maybe a quick 30-second meet-and-greet. I spoke to Ms. Lyons for a few minutes and she was gracious enough not only to pose for a photo, but also to help me pair a sweater with the Twilight Shift I'd decided to buy. I have spoken to her at four or five events now and she's been nice, approachable and humble each time.

There were plenty of mannequins to inspire and the audience wasn't too big -- I would estimate 150 people total, and it was only crowded for about 15 minutes.

One thing that was not mentioned in the Fashionista article that I thought JCAs would like to know...in her address to the crowd, Ms. Lyons mentioned that she's taken a less active role in the actual designs now that she's the company's president and it sounded like really the last few seasons. It's up to Ms. Webb and the team these days.

Heather wasn't sure what the gift with purchase over $150 was in her blog post, but I can report you had a choice. It was either the Bling Blossom Bracelet or a necklace I didn't recognize (here's a pic). I loved the gift bag we got too. All in all it was truly a delightful event.
It's always fun to hear these first hand accounts- it makes me feel like I was there too. In particular, this event sounds like it was amazing! :)

It's also interesting to hear that Jenna Lyons will take a less active role in design. I know in a previous article we discussed Marissa Webb stepping it up, but it's hard to think that Jenna won't have some say in the direction of J.Crew.

What are your thoughts on the fashion event from J.Crew? :)

"Looking to LOVE" with J.Crew

Preface: A big "thanks!" to Ibi who suggested weekly 'Looking to LOVE' and 'Looking to HATE' posts where we could all "deposit" our best & worst current experiences. I think it is a brilliant idea and will try it out for a few weeks. Hopefully this will help out our fellow JCAs! :)

This is the weekly "Looking to LOVE with J.Crew" post, a place to share our favorite experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a positive situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including stellar experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

J.Crew Email: A look we love (and why)

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Marietta & Ketan, who shared the following email from J.Crew this morning.

The email features a favorite look from their latest November catalog and breakdown how they pull it together. In fact, J.Crew is "obsessed with the layered-on texture and subtle mix of pattern".

The styling is quite a difference compared to the styling of November 2007 (as featured in the "J.Crew of Seasons Past: August 2007!" post).

What are your thoughts on the outfit in the email? Are you also obsessed with the layered styling J.Crew offers as of late? Any pieces in the outfit that you absolutely love?

J.Crew of Seasons Past: August 2007!

Fantastic. I can't get over how much I love, love, love these images!!! I want to wear so many of these outfits (from head to toe!)

Wait there will be more! Tomorrow I plan on posting images from J.Crew's Highland Catalog of November 2007. They are truly stunning too. :)

What are your thoughts on these catalogs from the past? Do you enjoy looking through them for outfit inspirations? Do you find these looks classic (like I do) or do you think they are dated?
