Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Not looking or buying anything until they straighten out my returns. I was so happy they were finally being processed, but now they are giving me gift cards for some things as the returns are over 30 days?? and they are charging me $7.50 multiple times!! CS said they are waiving the fees, so I have to wait 3-4 more days. Not sure if I will also be getting gift cards for these $7.50 charges. I'm sure it will get straightened out, but not buying until then no matter how good the sale is (plus I will have to buy later to use these gift cards..uggg)

As a note CS was extremely pleasant and helpful, so I think they are doing a great job, but the whole system is messed up.

    1. This happened to me too earlier this week too. I called CS and they told me that they'd reverse off the gift card and put it on to my original form of payment and they were very nice about. I am, however, still waiting for the second item to be processed from the box I sent back. I will give it another day and reach out and keeping an eye on my credit card.

My company just extended work from home until 6/15 (at least) so it'll be a lot of much more casual wear around here!

  2. Canada's only promo...free shipping off orders of $250.
even the 25% off is gone. gee...i wonder if any Canadians will even order. maybe this is what they want right now. no international shipping. too much hassle for them.just my opinion.

    1. envious of the 50% off "wearnow" promo US customers have....wish jcrew would offer to Canada.
at least I am saving $$...not ordering.

    2. Yes, I’m really disappointed too. I was hoping for a good promo for Mother’s Day.

  3. Feels like they are trying to kill of the Canadian stores. Two items I ordered on sale over a week ago were over 50% off retail, now they are full pop on the website.

I thought the idea of a sale was to move items to make room for new ones; not to offer a brief deal then return to the original price. Obviously I'm not a marketing professional but the pricing games are tiresome and most likely a major reason the company is failing and going under.

I used to feel sad that JCrew was having troubles, now it feels they deserve it. Too many blunders for too long. The fat lady is about to sing for JCrew.

  5. wouldn’t be surprised that they use the bankruptcy as a reason to consolidate stores and get out of Canada altogether. It’s probably not profitable at all for them, and they can say they’re refocusing on being a US brand with a smaller footprint, and get out of all international retail.

  8. The bankruptcy news has led to an avalanche of commentary from fashion industry royalty, marketing gurus, influencers and customers. As a JCA from the beginning, I’ve been so interested in all the historical points of view 10-15 years after the peak of the company’s social currency.

I’m most surprised by the intense love and nostalgia for the early catalog days of fewer items, high quality fabrics/construction, Italian silks/cashmere and shoes, and preppy with a bit of whimsy. It seems that if the company is going to survive, it’s going to have to go back to the beginning. There is intense love for that unique place in retail. Over expansion and a belief that quality no longer matters was as big or bigger a problem than the LBOs. As a forever fan, I hope they finally listen to the overwhelming voices pointing the way to a viable future.

    1. Hi ruffles, it would be amazing if jcrew returned to those days of high quality, great fabrics etc. I still have lots of very old catalogs and while I never really get the chance to look at them I can’t bear to ever recycle them. I miss the excitement of the old catalogues. I really hope they focus on quality over quantity. It’s nice to see that they use some organic cotton and haven’t gone to poly as much as some retailers.
I’ve enjoyed reading articles from loyal fans too. This blog has always been there and jcrew should appreciate this space that Alexis created many years ago. I saw comments that some “influencers” won’t try on jcrew items anymore on IG since they won’t get paid for it after the bankruptcy. Well if JCrew was a sport, this blog has always been about the love of the game and not making money. They should look at what their true fans have been saying over the years.

    3. I still look at old catalog photos and wish I could buy that same stuff today. It would be amazing if they brought the classics back... With the quality they once had.

    4. Funny aside: During SNL's Weekend Update on Saturday:

Michael Che: Look, obviously this pandemic has been tough for everybody. I lost my grandmother. Colin, you lost J. Crew.

(to which Colin replied: "I'm not ready to talk about J. Crew yet.")
