"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. Hi everyone, silly question but does anyone know what ‘submitted’ vs ‘open’ means for an order? I’ve been checking to see when my package ships, I thought it always says open until it ships but noticed that it says ‘submitted’ still. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. TIA

    1. I was told orders have to be accepted by warehouse. Otherwise, it means warehouse doesn't have items to fulfill this order and items will be canceled. Usually this would happen during first couple of days after we submit an order.

    2. Thank you for the info! I just checked and it has changed to ‘open’, for some reason that took a long time.

  2. I'm still waiting for multiple shipping fees to be refunded ( I was charged $7.50 ea for 4 items in one package). CS has indicated this will be resolved, but multiple emails and phone calls without any resolution has left me frustrated.
I FINALLY received refunds for the items, after calling again, but shipping fees are elusive. (These items were delivered to JC in late April). Honestly, this frustration has kept me from ordering any more JC.

    1. Yes, I'm sitting on a bunch of returns hoping the stores will open within a few weeks. But in NJ, who knows. Too many bad stories about partial refunds.

  3. I have had my rewards disappear on two separate occasions in the past month. One time it was for $15; this morning there was $10, but tonight it is $0. I guess I should use them immediately, but I don't unless it is something that I know I'll keep.

Has anyone else had this happen?

    2. I had $10 disappear on me. I assumed it was because I had returns but the returns hadn't been processed yet. (Shipping said they received them but I hadn't gotten any notice or refunds). Right now it looks like I should have $15 but only have $10. I can't keep track of how they calculate it all.

    3. Thanks, Miss JR. It's not a large dollar amount, and it's no big loss to me. I just wondered about it. I already spend too much time babysitting my returns and repurchasing items at a lower price.
