Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Not only is it snowing heavily, there's no new Promo. 😑 😂 😭

  2. I have an odd question.

I have 3 of the rectangular J Crew sunglasses cases. This means, of course, that I bought (hangs head in shame) 3 pairs of the J Crew sunglasses.

They are too bulky to carry in a purse and are pretty much the most useless cases ever manufactured.

I am about to toss them. But then I wondered if any clever JCAs have found some other use for them. Toss or repurpose???

    1. It took me a minute but I think I got the same ones with my Betty sunglasses (or Sam, I don't remember). I use the case because I don't want to scratch the glasses, but it's certainly not ideal. I'll take a look and see if I can think of a way to repurpose. (I love to repurpose items, especially sturdy boxes!).

    2. I haven’t seen the cases in question, but I use my extra cases in two ways. I keep one in my carry-on bag to safely stow my glasses while traveling (I generally don’t have a case in my purse day-to-day, so this saves me having to remember to pack one). Two, I use a very bulky (and ugly!) case to pack a bulky statement necklace and/or bracelet when I’m traveling and am only bringing that one piece. If you can’t find a use, add them to your donation box and someone at the thrift store will!

    3. I only have/had one case. purchased the irving(blond tortise). I gave away the case. I PAID $35 canadian for the sunglasses. I think J Crew should stick to clothing. these cases were not useable. the glasses were highly overpriced .

    4. Thanks, everyone.

Shopgrrrl - I like the idea of keeping the case in the carry on bag! I also like the idea of using the case for jewelry. I have to take a good look at the case. It's a ridiculous rigid rectangle with what I think is a weak magnet. Maybe I can use it to pack jewelry for travel with a rubber band for extra security!

  3. I stopped by the Rockefeller Center store on Saturday for returns. Sale section was huge, no one was looking. While I was at the register, people kept coming up to ask if items were included in the promo and most of the time they weren’t. So pretty much the only people at the register were making returns.

  4. No store visits for me, and none planned. I browsed online but there was nothing of interest even with 40% off. I'm happy to report that NoShopMarch was much more successful than NoShopFebruary (miserable fail)! After a riduclous start (buying a Factory skirt about 2 hours declaring NSM, and then a pair of shoes the next day), I held off the rest of the month. It obviously helped that there were few %-offf sales/free shipping combo days that are often irresistible to me, but it also really helped to spend some significant time decluttering and dealing with what I already have (both in my closet and in my home). Stylebook has been a great tool for me to acknowledge the enormousness of my "holdings" and help deter "it's such a great deal" purchases. NoShopApril, here I come!

  5. No visit for me for at least a few weeks and no purchases either. My money has gone to Kate Spade lately, although I have my eye on a stripe skirt at Nordstrom (wish it was on the retail site to get a discount) but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

  7. OT: does anyone know about the popover shirt shown with denim shorts Item E7594? is that a new or old shirt? there's reviews from 2016 but they're shorts so they should be newer? i'm confused. :/

  10. I stopped in to my store today. I haven't been there since early February. Tried on a few things, but passed on all of it. It was boring and uninspired. I was more impressed with Madewell, which had pretty floral prints and more of a spring feel to the clothing line.

  11. I placed an order for 2 of the supima tanks with the higher neckline. I like the soft fabric and I think they’ll be useful both on their own and under too revealing summer tops and dresses.

I’m saving an extra 20% off card in the hope that April will bring desirable new releases and/or amazing promos.
