Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Going today for a return and to browse...I ordered the pull on jean in indigo online right before xmas and they did honor the 40 off in store price for me. But they arrived yesterday and there was a pen in the package! a random BIC pen!! Get it together..Thankfully it did not affect my item.

  2. Last year I went a few times over the holidays and made a lot of purchases, easily the most I’d ever made in a short period. Yesterday I was visiting Toronto and had time for one mall stop. Normally I’d head to the nearest J.Crew location, but this time I skipped it in favor of a mall that didn’t have a J.Crew. I knew there wouldn’t be anything I wanted, so why bother? And looking at the Floral Jacquard new arrivals, I can’t see needing to visit anytime soon. Very strange.

  4. Good morning everyone! Since 2011 I have been a daily reader and infrequent poster. However, after much contemplation, I have decided to take the year off from shopping. I have too much stuff already, while it is a hobby I enjoy (so much) it is taking up too much of my time, and I want to really weed out what I don't wear from my closet. I think they year off will give me some perspective on what's clutter and what I actually love. Anyway, in order to be successful in this I am going to have to take some time off of JCA. I will miss you all and hope this community is still here and thriving when I come back. Happy 2018!

    2. Hats off to you! I am debating doing this as well, but it will be so, so very hard. I'm not sure I can do it. I am trying to think of a modified version, say only shopping vintage in actual B&M stores, but I don't love that either. At least that would take out the immediacy of hitting "place order". Hopefully I can come to peace with something this weekend. Again, that's really wonderful and I give you a lot of credit!

    3. @HollDoll129. Best wishes to you in this endeavor. I love this site & the company & conversations, but I completely understand what you're doing (from my own POV of course), and hope to hear from you after your year of reflection. Happy New Year!

    4. I just read the NY Times article about taking a year off of shopping. I loved the 3-4 months I took of shopping last year; maybe I'll make that a goal again this year. Good luck! -lep33shops

  5. I feel like I'm in the same boat, but I'll still follow the blog and look at the community outfits for ideas about how to wear what I already have. I'll repeat an older post in order to share this excellent article:

I'm grateful for all the well-made, still-fashionable JCrew items in my closet that have stood the test of time. I found this article very compelling and am considering a similar ban. I love the blogs for outfit ideas, but so much of the "new" stuff looks like what I already have. And then there are those trends which are just ridiculous, like the shoulder cutouts and crazily embellished sleeves. . . https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/15/opinion/sunday/shopping-consumerism.html

  6. Good luck to HollDoll, Sarah, and all of us starting shopping bans in the new year. Shopping blogs and constant browsing online definitely contribute to overshopping and shopping addiction if one has that tendency, so a Happy, Healthy New Year to all JCAs taking a break for a while to focus on other things. I hope an improved J Crew will be waiting for us to come back to!

    1. Ditto! I’m not quite doing a shopping ban but will take the first 3 months of the year to clean out my closet and document pieces I need in my wardrobe. Then focus on finding quality items. I’m hoping J Crew has an awesome summer line as that is my favorite season. But I plan to explore new brands and hope to find ones that I love. Happy New Year everyone!

  7. I cut back a lot this year and plan on cutting back more next year. It has been easier then I expected and I enjoyed finding other productive things to do with my time. The cut back was helped by the fact that I disliked the past years trends and I really try to stick to all natural fabrics. I had to purchase some pants and jeans as of late as mine are all a size too big and I didn't purchase any from the Crew. Fit was always off or everything is cropped. My money went to Banana, brooks brothers and Boden. I will continue to look at the Crew but will also continue to look elsewhere as I just don't think the Crew I knew and loved is ever coming back. Happy new year to all JCA's!!!

    1. Echoing all of this -- well, except for pants/jeans being too big . . . :) Happy New Year to all JCAs!

  8. Went to the Annapolis JC store and wondered why it looked like a moving sale ...the SA told me that they are closing at the end of Jan. Someone may have already commented but I was shocked (although I shouldn't have been). Annapolis and Towson in the DC area.

    1. oh wow, is towson closing also? I feel like the past few times I have walked by that location it seems like they are carrying fewer and fewer items, so I wouldn't be that surprised. but they are in the same wing of the mall as madewell, so I thought maybe they would want to keep the sister stores together?

    2. I was just at Towson the other night, the store looked uninspiring but I will be very sad to have it go. There is a Nordstrom but I don't know if they actually sell J Crew there. That wing of the mall is starting to feel empty.

    3. bummed to hear towson is closing. The harbor east store is great, but parking is terrible.

  9. FINALLY was able to use my Madewell birthday $25 rewards. I kept asking when I was buying items when they were 30% off and they kept refusing. A few other JCAs mentioned they were able to and I've certainly ordered enough stuff, so I just ordered the Northfield Mockneck sweater in black. I just got it in the XS but decided to size up to a Small as I often do so it should fit slouchier as on the model. I would spend $98 but on sale, plus 30% off, minus my birthday rewards...that price works.
Not going to Crew but next week will return the Mountain Puffer vests I purchased. My petite daughter prefers the fit of the excursion vest and likes the warm sand color which is currently on sale/final sale.

  12. Palm Beach Gardens, Fl store closing the end of the month. Total shock, such nice helpful employees that have been employed for years. Furious for them and sad for me and other clients. Moving back to Monaco after spending 3 years here on and off, so happy to be returning home and will be more dependent than ever on my VPS Tiffany and the Paris store. Positive note, scored a Campbell Blazer in Italian Stretch wool for $62.89. Happy New Year to all and thank you so much for all the merchandise feedback. Grateful to all.
