  1. Wearing old school J. Crew today: J.Crew Café plaid wool-twill Capri pants with the Wool Astrid jacket. Love that I'm still wearing these and hope to wear them for years to come.

  2. I love the new plaid resealable mailers! These are much easier to reuse and send returns back in. Hope they continue to use these after the holidays. Other retailers have been using these for quite some time. On a different note still waiting for those plaid Cameron pants to ship!!

    1. I too love the plaid mailers. Very festive and a nice surprise to find on my porch yesterday. Inside was the deer print popover, which I really liked. It has a tiny viridian green dot that matches my favorite pencil skirt in that color from about 2012. Also goes with my old bluegrass shade of cords from about the same era. It fits small through the underarms/mid back so I'd size up if that's been a problem for you. I took my usual size XS, but have a very narrow torso.

    2. It runs very short, that deer shirt! I sized up to an 8

    3. They look festive, but I don't care for them because they're not as easy to recycle as the brown paper bags.

    4. Ah, good point RN. I'm short-waisted, so never noticed the length, but can see how it might be a problem for some.

  3. I never have trouble exchanging final sale items for a different size, so that's awesome.

Also really liking the men's Italian merino wool cardigan sweater and Patterned cashmere scarf. I guess I will just stick with men's knits for now...until they ruin them as well.

  4. I love all my friends here on JCA so I thought I would share this info. I dropped into a B&m today. They were having 30% off all full priced items with an additional 20% off for using your Jcrew card. The additional 20% also applied to a clearance item.

    1. thanks for the heads up! Guess I'll be emailing CS to ask for a price adjustment. I ordered the crackled gold mules this morning which had popped back (really good price) and the cashmere side slit tunic which got a markdown. Had the rest of my rewards to use but...I'd rather have 30% + 20% than 25%! :)

    3. I'm not sure Miss JR. It may just be today.

    4. Anne, I didn't use my rewards or the $50 off gift card. It's seem to like my store either didn't have what I was interested in or did not have my size. I guess I'll just use the rewards and the gift card online. It's always disappointing when you try to support your local store and are unable to do so because they don't have the merchandise.

  5. My store won't give me 20% off for using jcrew card and they say it's only for opening a jcrew card. :(

    2. Hello unknown, all stores are having this promo. Please call CS if they don't honor this. I was informed of this during my trip to BM this evening. The promo will most likely run until the weekend.

  6. Still mad at J crew from screwing up my Thanksgiving order but the midnight sparkle tweed sheath is super fun. I resolved to return it but it's hard!

  7. Posting some new reviews/will cross post in the reviews section.

I received the Cableknit sweater with Fair Isle. Size XS. this is the ivory with red version. (And the dark color is navy, I was hoping it was black). Since it's a lose fit I ordered an XS. I often size up to Small. I don't mind the fit, it's loose and slouchy. The color and pattern are nice. It would look great with distressed denim and red shoes . My issue, it reminds me of old navy sweaters I bought a few years ago for 1/3 the price. It's a great casual sweater but even with the black Friday promo I feel like I should be paying $25-35 less for this material. At most. Maybe it's me.

I also received the Madewell high rise skinny sateen jeans. I ordered two sizes and got the smaller first (it's the same size I just took in Madewell skinnies and JCrew toothpick.) they fit but run a bit small. I actually think the fit is really nice. I don't get "sateen" though. They just seem like a smooth black cotton. (Maybe that's what sateen is, I assumed there would be a bit more sheen). They may be a lint magnet. Since i just got other black denim from Madewell I don't really need them, but if the fit works well on the larger size I may keep them because they are very flattering and can sub for dressier pants as needed.
Pics to come on IG @wearthislikethis.
Lighting is difficult at night and the pics I took look terrible.

    1. Posted a pic of the sweater. I really do like it but still not sure if it's worth the price I paid for the amount of wear it will get and the material. It is machine washable so there's that benefit.
