Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. G. H. Bass has some options that are similar in style to J. Crew (or Madewell). Bass even has a factory store, with brick and mortar stores, as well as a website.

  2. Received my Freya Denim Dress from Boden today, it’s great! I’d been stalking it sine the spring when it was on an 8-10 week backorder, and then sold out. Very pleased when it reappeared in late summer and even more so when it went to clearance.

    1. Ooh, I love that dress! The fit was off on me (too much fabric, not enough me on top). Almost kept it anyway. Congrats on your great buy!

    1. Agreed, love the length of it, very elegant. The olive velvet jacket and pants are great too, the color is unique.

    2. Yes! Boden's fall new arrivals are amazing. So many "special" pieces. I used to use that word for J Crew, now not so much.

    3. @ruffles, yes, reminds me of the way J.Crew style guides used to completely captivate me, probably back ~2007-8-9.

  4. Has anyone here purchased from Amour Vert? I like what I see in their catalogues -- natural fibers, current but not trendy styles, etc.

  5. I hadn't tried Ann Taylor or Loft in at least 25 years, I used to get sized out. Since everything is vanity sized nowadays I figured I'd give their 0 pants another try. I paid $41.99 for the Julie fit from Loft in a 0 short which has a 31" inseam. Perfect for flats, no need to get them hemmed. I'm in love. A classic black pant that fits through the hips with a wider leg, zip, button and belt loops. Hooray!
