Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  3. New markdowns are not final sale! I nabbed the SZ blockprints dress. I was hoping to get the top/skirt combo but I had website issues this morning and couldn't get the pages to load properly to put in my cart. Not entirely sure how it will out with the OSFA sizing or if it's too sheer to wear as a dress.

    1. I have the red version of the dress - no problems with sheerness! If anything, it's too heavy a cotton for a beach coverup imo. The OS means it works best for me when belted to get the volume under control. It's very cute, exotic and summery.

    2. Thanks for the review! I'm excited to get it now. Have you washed it yet? How did it hold up (stiffness, color running)?

    3. I washed it in cold, no problems with the colours and no shrinkage. The fabric softens up considerably after washing, makes the dress really soft and comfortable.

  5. Any tips from New Yorkers on the J Crew Brookfield Place location in New York City? Is it any better than the standard J Crew retail outlet?

This will be the most convenient location, but are there any other locations (J Crew or J Crew Factory) that are worth visiting?

(This is how I know I have a problem - I try to visit J Crew stores in different cities...)

    1. Is is better than the standard in that they get the new items a month prior to other stores and online, so you can get previews of the new items. Otherwise, it's on the smaller side. Brookfield Place is fun to visit in general as there are lots of upscale shops there and a beautiful upscale food court where you can watch boats go by on the Hudson. The Oculus is right next store as well, which is essentially another upscale mall on top of the NJ Path station. If you're looking for the largest J.Crew in the city it's probably the one on 16th and 5th Ave. Then there are the 2 collection stores on Madison Ave (on on 66th and one on 79th) if you want to see most of the full range of collection items.

    3. I love the Brookfield location for checking out new items you won't find anywhere else yet. Very good customer service as well. But not a good place if you're hoping to snag a sale. The next closest location to Brookfield is the store in SoHo on Prince St. I like their sale section a lot; I almost always find things there. Also a large kids section.

  6. Came in the house for a drink and to cool off from doing yard work. While the A/C hummed I thought 'I'll just take a peek at the sale section'. Yeah, just take a look.

Long story short; Italian Silk Tie in blue plaid #G6352 for $19.99 down from $78. Pair of striped socks for $7.50 down from $18.50 and a tee #G5036 in wide stripe in a red/blue stripe was $52 but for me $14.99.

I know more stripes, I'm officially nuts, more stripes and more sale shopping. After I finish my drink they are picking me up and taking me to retail rehab.

    1. LOL, well at least you got some good deals! And since those items are basics I'm sure you'll get a lot of use from them. I'm addicted to stripes too :)

    2. You crack me up, j.crew guy! 😂 Glad you found some good deals! No one could fault you, because STRIPES!! (on sale, no less!) Enjoy!

  7. Received my eyelet top with tassels in bright yellow and am really pleased! The cotton is crisp and substantial, yet perfect for summer. Glad I went for the 10T, it's a good length on me (5'9"), but not too full. My usual size is 12, but I don't like really billowy tops so I size down if I can to keep the sillouhette a bit trimmer.

    1. I managed to get the same top in green a few weeks ago. I usually wear 10T but I went for 8T because, as you said, the mid section to the bottom of the top is a bit billowy. It's one of my favorite summer purchases. J.Crew is known for color and I hope the new CEO doesn't change this.

    2. There are some popbacks of the top this morning. I thought about the white but then remembered I have a white linen Factory top from last summer that I haven't worn yet.
