  1. With this new promo, I'm hoping that J.Crew loads preorder items early on their site, like what they did before the last roll-out.
And I hope the preorder items aren't excluded from this promo.

I haven't seen the March style guide, Looking forward to seeing it!

  3. Love the heartyou promo for new merchandise but sad that the extra 50% off clearance category is gone. It seems like every time they do free shipping, the promo requires you to spend enough to get free shipping anyway to take advantage of the best percent off.

    1. Oh, that's bizarre. I was going to check. I hate that.

    2. Yeah, I was bummed to discover the 50% off section was gone this morning, too.

  4. A couple of very cute new things over at Nordstrom - a pretty rainbow stripe skirt and an embellished cardi (I must have the gold version!).

    1. Oooh, thanks for the reminder to check over there! A few cute new things like you said -- I personally cannot resist some version of a trench dress so I like the new sleeveless Garment-dyed Utility dress. Looking forward to the next rollout!

    2. it's not showing up in the arrivals on the JC site, but if you type "embellished" into the search bar the cardi comes up and the promo applies to it! Snatch it up with the promo!

      Delete
    3. Oh the pop stripe skirt shows up too if you type "skirt" in the search bar, and promo also applies!

We can play find the hidden JC items!

    4. @Cass, I was just coming over to say this! It wasn't my discovery, but I was over at Audrey-Bella's blog ('Life is short, buy the shoes') and she provided links for two other new skirts, including the Tulle ball gown (lovely, but no place to wear it) and the Gingham ball gown (cute, but too much for shorties like me).

      Delete
    5. @TM93 Yeah I saw those too--agree that they are cute but no place to wear. What do you do with a ball skirt in a casual gingham fabric?

I am hemming and hawing right now on the collection wool-silk pant in hibiscus pink. They are excluded from prom and with tax they will be almost $400, but there are only 8 left in my size and I think they will most likely sell out before making it to promo application or markdown...Hm...they ARE full length trousers and that is what I am always on the lookout for from JC. But I am not going to wear bright pink pants to work. Are they versatile enough to justify price? I'm thinking they would be good for easter, bridal shower in the spring?

    6. To heck with zebras-- it's giraffe time, y'all!

This Drake's print is both hilarious and lovely. I need it.

    7. The pop stripe comes in a dress too--search item G1587. I like it better than the skirt. Priced at $158, not bad esp when promo works.

    8. For you pop stripe lovers, there's a dress, too!

    10. How cute is the Campbell blazer with ruffle trim in Liberty Edenham print?!!

      Delete
    11. now i'm just typing in random words to see what pops up!

      Delete
    12. Also the silk foulard print pajama shirt - love it! There are flats in the same print. My wallet is in trouble!

      Delete
    13. @shopalot that blazer is very old school J.Crew! The lighter print is cute, not at all a fan of the darker print they used on the ruffle skirt. The ruffle hem midi dress looks promising but I just can't bring myself to buy something so summery right now. Not included in promo anyway so no rush.

    18. I feel like I should open each new thing just to see what over new items might be in the styling. None of those shoes come up on the site, and I basically NEED the giraffe ones pictured in the giraffe skirt link I posted above.

    19. @Cass, just looked up those pink pants -- they look lovely and as long as they fabric isn't too silky or shiny, I actually think they could be worn to work, possibly dressed down a bit with a gray or burgundy sweater (maybe one with a cowlneck to draw the eye up a bit), or even with a white button-down. Love how it's styled with that striped shirt. I bet the quality is especially nice, since it's Collection (somewhat surprised that it isn't lined though.) The pants would work on Easter and bridal/baby showers, a nicer brunch place, etc. Please report back if you try them!

@shopalot, LOL on the JCrazy quip, haha!

@MonicaBonica, I do hope that Drake's print appears in other items, so cute!

@JSR, both of those skirts are lovely. The tulle one would be fun for a party or other special occasion =- I can already see how this might be a blogger favorite. The eyelet skirt would work a bit more for my lifestyle, tho that cut is tricky on me. Yay for March!

    21. @TM93 thanks for the styling suggestions. I have seen/felt the wool-silk fabric in other collection items and it is very substantial, not itchy so I think they will be ok unlined. I will report back once I get them.

      Love that pop stripe dress.

    29. I don't see a garment dyed utility dress. I do see a garment dyed tee shirt dress.

      Delete
    30. @maryeb, I saw the Garment-dyed utility dress on the Nordstrom website, don't think it's showing up on JC just yet for some reason.

      Delete
    31. Ah, I see. Thanks @TM93. It's really cute. I like the style. Hope it comes in some other colors.

      Delete
    32. @TM93 - I wish the Tulle skirt was midi length..I guess it wouldn't be a prob to hem it. Where would I wear it to?

      Delete
    33. Ahh..that silk foulard shirt! love! Very Prada.

      Delete
    34. @JSR, agree about the length, but yeah, probably easy enough to hem. I don't really have a place to wear a skirt like this either, though I suppose I could wear it to a casual summer party or more likely, a trendy but casual restaurant in summer (I don't do a whole lot of either anymore, TBH!)

Just noticed the lining is removable. Probably for laundering purposes? Can't wait to see what others do with this one. The pink is my favorite.

    1. I just tried mine out of curiosity, everything is working fine for me.

    2. What?! No, no issues, I was just in there writing reviews for a few items and browsing my Wishlist. Hmmm, that sounds very strange. (Did you happen to catch the last entry in the vent column a few days ago? A JCA said there was some pushy/weird ad about applying for a JC credit card and you had to acknowledge that you read the ad and whatnot --also something about entering your social?) This all strikes me as a bit of a hacking scam or who knows what (sincerely hope not of course, but since when wouldn't a customer be able to change to their own password??) Maybe try a different browser? I'm on Firefox, no shady messages thus far.

    3. website is very glitchy for me today. not letting me put things in my cart/wishlist, etc.

    4. @Suz Has, I had that same PW issue a day or two ago. Wanted to add something to my wishlist (annoyed that I now need to log in to do so) and couldn't get in. I was too lazy to request a new PW, and by the time I went back to the site several hours later, the glitch had been fixed and I was able to use my (old) PW.

    2. Yay for Nordstrom! I was thinking of asking for some of the Loren Hope jewelry they have on their website as a V-Day present from my hubby.

      Delete
    3. Ha, asked my hubby for a V-Day gift card , too. Planing to spend on skincare, though. Approaching the big 40, over the counter pharmacy stuff won't cut it anymore..Have enough sweaters already.

  7. Any love out there for the merino sweater blazer? It's still excluded from all promos and I can't decide if I want to blow my rewards on it. I haven't paid FP for anything in a very long time but this one is selling out. I'm fine paying FP if I love love it and it's good quality (meaning it will last a few years not months)..

    1. Someone over on the vent yesterday thread mentioned purchasing it.

    2. I own it and it is very nice and substantial. Size down though,it runs huge.

      Delete
    3. It's a love. Bought in grey and black. Runs large. I am a 10-12 in tops and got this in a small!

      Delete
    4. I have the grey one and love it. I think I ended up getting it with a 30% off FP promo at some point...I am also a 10 sometimes 12 in tops and have it in a small - so definitely size down. I love it for Fridays at work or on the weekend. My favorite combo has been a stripe tissue turtleneck and jeans/tall boots or I've also worn a few plaid button downs under it with jeans/booties. To work - the grey one looks great with all black as well. Definitely a love for me.

    5. oh my gosh, thanks so much all! I'm a M sometimes a S so I better try it in XS! It seems like such a versatile and classic piece, but I'd sure like to get it for a little less ;)

      Delete
    6. I bought it when it first came out last fall and wore it today, in fact! And received many compiments too. =) The pockets are just the right size, it's so classic but modern looking, very soft and cozy and warm. It's got a heft to it. Agree to size down, I'm a small and got an XXS for a fitted blazer look, could have done an XS for a more slouchy grandpa cardigan fit.

      Delete
    7. Definitely worth a full-price purchase (even though it pained me to do so...)! I love it! I bought the gray in a small (normally wear a medium) and it the perrrrfect layering piece!

  8. OK so I ended up biting on the collection wool-silk pants despite promo exclusion, and got button-back cashmere top in lilac and bell sleeve silk top in blue, all items that can be worn now or soon. I tried on the bell sleeve silk top in store and liked it but didn't want to pay FP. It is a thick weave, not wispy, and I think it will be durable as far as silk goes.

  9. I still like some of the skirts/dresses and have them on my WL but I just can't bring myself to buy spaghetti strap dresses and pink cotton skirts with a foot of snow outside. I think they will be marked down plus promo for cheaper by the time it's warm enough to wear.

    1. Cass- it's so hard for me to resist buying some of those new dresses immediately! but I keep reminding myself that I will catch them on sale eventually.....hopefully :)

      Delete
    2. Really very few of JC items sell out right away--or sometimes they appear to sell out but JC gets another shipment the next month, or restocks returns, or whatnot. So unless you are going on a tropical vacation sometime soon, you should be able to wait. I just tell myself if I buy it now and then it ends up going on sale before I can even wear it I will be annoyed or will have to be hassled with return/rebuy, so it helps me wait.

      Delete
    3. Completely agree with Cass, though I know exactly what you mean, Percheno! After weeks of looking at the same thing, it's fun to have something new and different in your possession, even if it can't be worn right away. (At least that's what I'm telling myself! :-P) But we really do still have time and like Cass said, few things completely sell out for good, forever.

      Delete
    4. Yes to both of you! But right now I am living in the south and we have had a few warm to hot days already- and that makes it so much harder to talk myself out of it. I did catch the Thomas Mason gingham dress on popback and sale last season and that one was very popular- so it's a good reminder to me that I can and should always wait. There is only one thing that I bought full price immediately because my shopping sixth sense told me that it would sell out right away and I turned out to be right, and I don't think there were many pop backs on it. It was a collection eyelet dress from a couple of years ago.

  10. Has anyone seen the Drake skirt IRL? The description mentions an "elastic waist," wondering how that would look on such a full skirt.

    ReplyDelete
  11. What is everyone's experience with the Liberty prints on sizing. I read comments time and again about them running small - how small? I'm wondering because I'm seriously thinking of getting that Liberty Campbell jacket. Should I size up?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i don't know about the campbell jackets... but i'm usually either a 2 or a 4 in all the button down shirts... and i'm always a 4 in the liberty shirts.

      Delete
  12. The liberty ruffle skirt is cute too, but the ruffle shows the wrong side of the fabric. I wish it had been doubled over, if that makes sense.
