Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. 75% off final sale. The only thing I would have grabbed were the Elsie pumps in cracked leather, but they were sold out by the time I clicked. Lots of swimwear. The artist formerly known as Tilly is down to $8 and change. Cashmere tees are $25.

    1. Also some classic Jackie & tippi cardis -- including the ones I ordered yesterday at 40% off. Off I go to request a price adjustment . . .

  2. All of my 75% off items are not showing up as final sale - does this mean they're returnable?

  3. Wow. I just got my adjustments on a last week order: 170 of savings on 4 items I would keep anyways - cashmere. I also reordered featherweight merino polo - I got it for 41 and have reordered for just below 18!
Yup Amy, they are not showing as final again, it happened late at night as well.

    1. I got adjustments from an order from yesterday and last week. Can't beat Jackie's for $12.50 and Pixies for $14. Replaced my old navy Jackie, a wardrobe staple and bought one for my sister.

  4. On Sunday, I bought my husband a pair of 484 jeans on final sale for about $40. I see them this morning on a super sale for about $20 after promo. Do you think they'll give me a price adjust?

    1. Sure, send out the email/call before the items is sold out.

I still can't believe cashmere tee went down to $25 (and cashmere hoodie to $35). I pulled a trigger last week seeing new arrivals, and figured the price won't go any lower.

    2. Yes, call in and have your order number ready. If it hasn't been over a week, they will adjust. I had a lot of crew cut items in addition to my husband's pants, and the associate put me on hold and went through all of those items as well and made the price adjustment.

  5. Also had a final sale free order...two cashmere tees, Jackie cardigan and the black and white printed Elsie pumps for $100. Trying not to buy things I won't wear even if they're super cheap but considering the no final sale, may grab a few other things as well.

  6. Grabbed the linen cargo pencil skirt and the a-line skirt in bi-stretch cotton. Have tried both on in the store so even if it was final sale, I know I would like both. Have been waiting for the price to go down on both of them and now that it has, I finally bit. $10 and $17.50, respectively.

  7. I will be going to check out what else hit the sale rack.

  8. B&M in Copley (Boston) has 50% off sale items, FYI. Didn't see anything I liked in sales, but tried on some new arrivals. The new Tippi sweaters are indeed bracelet length sleeves. I loved the polka-dot Tippi, and it fit TTS, but it's so see-through I couldn't justify purchasing it. :-/ Love the new colors for the Tippis in general though. Definitely hope to pick one up in garnet flame and navy when they go on sale.

Deck striped tee is great, size down (I usually take XS, bought XXS). While it is indeed wide/loose, the sleeves are still quite fitted, I feel. Fabric is nice and not thin or see-through.

Also got the long-sleeved striped painter tee (item c9418). I am a sucker for stripes, couldn't help it. :( This one isn't see-through either, and the buttons on one shoulder surprisingly don't bother me.

  9. I stopped by, the sale racks were looking pretty empty. I wonder if they are in an inventory phase - could they be shipping things out?

  10. I stopped in a couple hours ago and clearance was way on the light side, but I got a pair of bermuda-ish length shorts in a washed out blush for $20 and a camel Tippi for $30. I also caved and got the vintage scarf print dress - really thought I was going to prefer the shirt, but I tried them both on and the dress was the one I couldn't leave without. Lately I feel stupid buying anything at retail, but I still had my coupon for opening a card in the last few months so after the discount both clearance items were free. Finally, I tried on the indigo stripe Painter tee in my usual XXS, but it was WAY too tight so definitely size up. You can see my Instagram photo of the top half of the dress here: https://instagram.com/p/5ieConowH_/

    1. Did you go with your regular size or size down?

I'm ruler shaped so usually i size down in shifts.

    2. Did you mind the back zip on it? I thought granite would be gray, but it looks army green. What color is it in person? Thanks!

      Delete
    3. @missJR i went with my shirt and popover size. The shiftdress is not oversized and the 0 fits nice and fitted.
@cate i dont mind the back zip at all. The color of the dress is a washed army green.

  12. I received my 'updated' white matchstick jeans in the mail today. I like the slightly higher rise - flattering, but not 'high rise'. However, the material is odd for jeans - very stretchy. Yuck.

    1. That's unfortunate to read. I'm interested in the white matchstick petite.

  13. Most unpleasant visit to my b&m.
Signs indicating 50% off sales with sale section very picked over.
Asked SA to see a necklace to which she retorted that "That necklace" had just gotten in and was NOT on sale (!!).. Bwt, I hadn't asked itf it was or not on sale.
It turned out that "that necklace" was on sale and while helping me out at checkout she let go her second remark.." Well, I guess that for that price they (JC)must just as well give it to you " (ouch)

I guess I received the "discount treatment":)
Because if you buy a full price item they are all smiles and helpful... if you buy something on promo ( 40% a reguler priced item) they are still hepful while holpeful to push for another full price item to go with.. But if you happen to be buying a sale item... expect to get the "discount treatment"

    1. And that's why the only reason I ever go into my b&m is to do online returns....

    3. @ Mimi, much to my discontentment that is probably what I'll be doing too. I already avoid one of the stores nearby because all SA behave like they can't be bothered..and now this one seems to be following suit. Sad.

    4. Unacceptable-I hope you get her name off your receipt and email J Crew a transcript of that exchange, including the store number. No one deserves to be treated like that. My local SA's are wonderful.

    5. @wendy, agree. I will just forget about the whole exchange and let this go without any further actions. Even though she should have known better, maybe she was having an awful day or going through some difficult times.
      Thank you :)

    6. Sadly, I understand all too well. I was turned off by the JC SA's a long time ago. The folks that work in the two locations near me have awful attitudes or again, can't be bothered by you at all. However, it seems if you come in the store dressed to the nines, wearing a ton of jewelry and carrying an LV bag, they will bend over backwards to help you. It's rather frustrating. I only buy online anymore from JC and visit my store to make returns.

Madewell, however, has great SA's!! Very helpful, friendly, and down to earth. I shop in that store all the time!! And, the store is literally across the hall in the mall from the JC store.

  14. Stopped by to do some returns. Tried on the Soft lame shirt dress. Love it, fit was perfect in a 2 which has been my dress size at J Crew this year. It is fitted and even though it has large armholes in this size it was fine. My favorite SA sweetened the pot and gave me 30% off so I could not say no. Did try on the chambray long sleeve dress, long sleeved and those tight arms, in an XS it was a struggle in and out and not a great fit for me. A brief look around I felt encouraged by these new arrivals. Did see new Tippis, love the colors but with temps in 90s not in sweater mode. Did see the new handbags and shoes and loved them.

    1. Love love the lame dress too! If my VPS had been there to offer up 30%, I would have been all over it! Still considering it at full price though because I think it's worth it!

    2. Gigi reviewed it also and I always love her reviews. I am curious on thoughts on color of shoes. I tried on a saddle color in Madewell with it but did not like. I was wearing navy sandals and I thought a darker color was better. I don't wear heels, so a sandal or flat would be more my choice but color is stumping me?? Thoughts, you more savvy and stylish JCAs? .

    3. JRSCONIFER - I just posted on Gigi's review on this, asking the same question. I usually don't have a problem pairing colors and matching outfits, but I'm stumped on this dress. Only flat shoes for me too, and I don't have a clue on what color flats to wear it with??
Maybe animal print? Because of the brown? And what jacket/sweater/coat or blazer would you pair this with??

    4. @JSR i think the cognac Evies would be perfect with it!
The gold Evies looks seriously good with my granite version.

    5. @JRSConifer, JSR, suede flats in both burgundy, olive, dark brown or animal prints should all look good with this dress. As for jackets,sweaters,coats... Maybe a cardigan wrapped around your shoulders ?
Nice to see a discussion about an item that got so much love for a change:)

    6. I was wearing bright green satin shoes when I tried it on and they looked fabulous (which is only to say I really think anything goes - although leopard would be great!).

    7. Thanks, ladies! I own the Harper in calf hair from last fall season. I haven't tried it on..who knows, I may not even like it after all. :)

The last time i bought a nice dress from J.Crew was when Marissa designed her last fall collection before departing. Ha! It's always ill fitting, looks like a potato sack on me, or its collection-that I can't afford it or its sold out.

    8. Thanks everyone, great ideas and shoe colors I actually have, well maybe not green satin, but I so not that adventurous. I did hold the dress against the new material flats with the pointy toe in animal print and they did go. I do have a pair of animal print ballet flats from Gap. I also looked through my sandals and found this pair https://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/shoes/sandals/PRDOVR~48012/48012.jsp. They must be old, they are Made in Italy. Nan, I agree, love sharing ideas on styling around a new arrival.

  15. I found a treasure trove of items on sale and they are to die for--the Amalia high heeled sandal, Point Sur skinny jeans, and the Plumeria pencil skirt. These items together cost me a whopping 122 dollars. I'm thrilled because all are non returnable. The jeans and the shoes are classics, and for 18 dollars the skirt was priced just right to add a bit of whimsy and fun. Shop away!
