"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. My usual vent on repeat...I placed on order for 4 items last week. The packages are trinkling in. Was able to intercept the mailman yesterday but not today...:(

  2. I placed a big order last week - 7 items. They are coming in three shipments. The first item came from a store and was so wrinkled and dirty-looking I had to wash it right away.

I thought that by paying for shipping (UPS), everything would come all together, pristine, from the Lynchburg warehouse.

  3. 1. I nearly dislocated my shoulder today trying to zip the back zip on the chevron dress, which I otherwise love. I hate back zips with stiff material!

    2. As a legitimate tall at 5'11", it makes me insane that my choice is to order right away at full price or risk losing it, and then see it go on sale later and actually be in my size. More talls, please, J.Crew! Yes, I know, price adjustments, returns, etc, but it's such a hassle!

    1. As a fellow tall gal, ditto. I suspect average height ladies are buying up the tall stock, too because JC refuses to make dresses at reasonable lengths In the first place.

    2. # tall girl struggles! I'm 5'10 and Aargh this is sooo my grievance too! I hate that I have to pay full price for tall items to even have a chance at them, I hate that they are not available in stores, and I hate that the talls items are always the last items to go on sale but the first ones to disappear. Not recently I returned and reordered like 5 items for the this very reason and I'm certain in a few short weeks the price will drop another 20 to 30 dollars. So frustrating!!!

    3. Can I join the party? I am 5'10 and now with average -sized women buying tall stuff, there is even less to go around. Not to mention that there is NO tall sections in the stores. There are petites...but NO tall, JCrew!

  4. A half vent: I was in JC the other day and a girl was looking for comme des garcon. The employees had no clue what she was talking about. She explained that it was French and he said that they don't carry any French items and he doesn't know any French. I kinda chuckled out loud and told her to try Nordstrom lol. The employees should know what third party brands they carry!

  6. I received the dreaded "we wish we made enough" email this morning regarding the order I placed yesterday for the faux leather pleated midi skirt. Why did they have to reissue this skirt as a mini when the midi was clearly so popular? Would love any leads on where to find it in a 00...
