Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. Yes, so frustrating....I am in Cannes on vacation right now and was hoping to order before heading out for the day. They should not be posting any online offers before making sure that all their technological ducks are lined up in a row

  2. I am annoyed that the dress I've been stalking has popped back up in all sizes the day after the SUMMERTIME promotion has ended (Gilded Dot Brocade Dress). Seriously, J. Crew.

Also, this doesn't belong here but Reviews has scrolled way down... I accidentally washed my Peony linen tee and my Umbrella linen tee and dried them on full heat in the dryer. They totally shrunk and the length was ridiculously short, no way I could wear them. I washed them again, gave them each a few good shakes, and hung them up to dry. They completely regained their original size (and maybe some extra). Pretty cool, they are saved!

  5. Off topic: I know some of you wanted to order from Boden's Autumn 2013 preview with the 20% off code, well great news, instead of the expiration date being tonight, Boden has extended the 20% off until July 21! So we have more time to mull over our choices. :)

I put more info in this post: http://mysuperfluities.blogspot.com/2013/06/boden-preview-news-its-good-and.html.

I am not around much today, but if you comment over there, I should be able to answer any questions you have.

  8. Even more markdowns at the B&Ms, just a quick glance, Sera tops $19.99, Ratti kiwi tank $24.99, sequin tanks are $24.99, Hawaiin print dress $119, tweed front tee $19.99, and valid for extra 30% off.

    1. Which store had the ratti kiwi tank? Did you happen to notice if they had a size 2? Thanks!

    2. I saw some at the Asheville, NC store but did not look at sizes.

    3. Thanks. I called yesterday and they found one somewhere for me :)

  9. Need some toothpick jean advice. The SA at my store recommended a snug fit as the jeans stretch out, however I tried on a size down and it fit super tight around hips and thighs w/really bad camel toe (sorry for the TMI), but my regular size fit snug, however had maybe a half inch gap on the waist in the back (hips larger than waist).

Should I buy the indecent pair as it will correct itself with wear, or get my regular size? TIA!

    1. Muncher, I'd skip the Toothpick style if they aren't a good fit on you. I think the are difficult to wear, personally. They are super tight on my calves, but if I size up for my calves the rest is too big. They are just a strange fit, IMO, as I have never had anything not fit my calves before, not even tall boots. Or if you really like these, just wear a belt with the bigger size. I wouldn't risk the tighter ones unless they are deeply discounted and you don't mind making a potential mistake.

    2. So funny about the Toothpicks, I think you either love them or hate them. I have tried the Matchsticks and they are a disaster on me. Muncher, I would not size down. IMHO, I don't think that they stretch out enough to do that. I agree with Cate wear a belt if there is a gap.

      Delete
    3. Agree, get larger size and wear a belt. They do stretch but not enough to alleviate the problems you are describing. They stick out in the back for me, too, but I just wear a belt or a longer shirt. Otherwise, I love them and find them very flattering. But I do always have to go up a size from my matchstick/other pants size.

  10. Just went to the factory store to check out their 50% off sale. Here are some reviews and pics from what I tried on!

  11. I went to the retail store yesterday morning to check out the sale section and newer items, too. I picked up a few of the mini emergency kits, and tried on a few things but nothing worked out for me this time.

The sale section was packed with mainly sizes 4-12, so if you are looking for something in that size, I would give them a try. It's the Mall at Millenia store: 407-226-9732.

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

  12. I just got back from my second B&M in 2 days and the price discrepancies between the two are making me crazy. Whale Tippi FP in one, $39.99 in the other. Striped Jackies $19.99 in one, $49.99 in the other. Medallion Sweater FP in one, $39.99 in the other.

Anyway, has anyone seen the Convertible Jewel-Collar Linen Sweater in S in in their travels? What is it ringing up at? I thought I read $39.99 somewhere but my regular B&M has it marked at $99.99, same as online.

Ugh, I need to lay down.

    1. It sounds like one store isn't tagging them after they've been reduced further, they should all be the lower of the two prices.

      Delete
    2. Convertible is definitely $39.99 before the extra % off. Try Georgetown in DC.

    3. Update: got it for $39.99 - 30%. Thanks katertott and Rosie!

  13. I did well today with the even further reduced prices. I picked up the sequin tank in both colors for $17.99 each, tweed front tee (a good early fall piece IMO) for $13.99, wool cafe capri for $13.99, Micro Tweed jacket in indigo for $27.99 (another great piece for fall, doesn't look like much on the hanger but flattering and comfortable) - still on website for $99.99, cafe capri in neon trim seersucker for $27.99, and the mini skirt with anchor buttons for $27.99 (much cuter than I expected on, reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer), I'm 5'4 so this was more just above knee than a bonafide mini on me. I also got the white and black silk boy shirt for $17.99 after discount.

The Sera top was only $19.99 before discount but that didn't change the fact it looked terrible on me so back it went, the gilded mini is $24.99 before discount but didn't do me any favors either so I put that back too.

I have bought quite a bit with this in store sale, probably 20 items over the past few days. The mall I was shopping at also apparently had an offer where if you brought them a receipt for over $100 that day you got a $20 gift card and some other little prizes so that was a little unexpected bonus.

  14. Just got back also from my B&M. I wanted to try on the Nolita jean jacket while it is on promo and told the SA it was 40% off online. She said they would honor any online price, so I purchased it from the store. Thanks Gigi, for letting me know it was included in the 40% off promo. Also, got a Jackie in bright yellow for $27.99. Recommend that you look around the whole store not just the sale section since at mine, sale stock was spread throughout the store.

    1. Did a quick drive-by of my other B&M and tried on some items but only one item came home with me. The sleeveless shift dress in stretch wool - 95962 in sunset pink was $59.99 +30% off, it is FP online $198. It was the only one and in my size (yeah).

    2. JRSConifer - Yay seeing the Nolita price info! Thanks for mentioning the stretch wool dress. Brought that in to try on, but forgot.

  15. Updated again -- the In-Store Price Notes. I changed things & put the most recent cuts at the top of the post.

The cuts are crazy. $29.99 for the golden gears necklace (review).

Good luck w/your sale goggles. I know mine are pretty powerful.

    1. Oh -- forgot to mention, a lot of the little accessories are on sale. Liberty mirrors still $14.99. FACE Stockholm lipsticks (crazy coral color) $3.99, ship wheel (?) keychain, feather earrings $39.99. I agree that items are all over the store, so keep your eyes peeled.

    2. The French Martini lipstick (pale pink) was just $2.99 at my B&M. I agree the cuts are crazy!

    5. Gigi - Thank you for the price info on the golden gears necklace. The tag at my store is still $89.99. It did scan for $29.99 before 30% off at check out. I also got the sunflower necklace in yellow for $29.99 before 30% off.

  16. OT for the VA ladies - I stopped in at the Tysons Galleria store today and was told that the store would be closed for the month of July for renovation. I'm not sure what I'll do without my lunchtime J Crew fix.

  17. This sale is insane. I happily found a FP item I've been looking for and some other treats at my B&M today.

With the 30% off sale and the student discount stacked on top of that, I got the Daisy Lace skirt for about $43 ($88 online!) and the multi-stripe merino Tippi for $12. Can't beat that!

  18. I just came back from my B&M. FYI the thistle print toothpicks are now $59.99 before the 30% off and I also grabbed the tortoise link circle bracelet for $29.99 before discount. The other great deal was they also honored the sale price of the Hawaiian sunset tank and gave me the 30% off of that as well. Definitely look around as stated in other posts, sale merchandise is scattered about. Happy shopping and enjoy!

  19. Totally OT, but there's a Bahamas skirt on eBay right now currently bid up to $12. Not my auction nor my size, unfortunately.

    1. Hi,
I sized down one and love them! Actually got the white on sale in store... waiting for other colors to go on sale!

    2. Thanks Milljcrew! I was wondering if the white is sheer? TIA!

      Delete
    3. AD MD: Like Millijcrew, I sized down in this sweater. I think that all of the colors are sheer. I wear a perfect fit tank underneath the Cobalt Blue and the Coral versions of this sweater. I plan to do the same with the white one as well. I hope this helps!

      Delete
    4. AD MD - I originally bought S in the summerweight linen sw, but decided to size down one. I have a mental note from last year that linen sweaters like this tend to sag during the day. I finally tried on the white today and it's see-thru-ish, but will not nesc requite a cami. Would work on me with a nude bra. If you wear a white bra, it will likely show thru. Only M - XL left in-stores near me, which to me says lots are sizing down. HTH

    5. gigiofca, thank you so much--if the white doesn't require a cami, I'll definitely order--I hate layering in summer!

I actually wore a nude cami.... wasn't work/age appropriate for me... you can see your belly ;)

  22. Came home with $384 of items for $60 after the latest price reductions plus % off. That's 84% off FP!

I'm thrilled to be able to get some coveted items that were completely out of my budget before the sale, but I don't know how they can keep this up from a business standpoint, and I don't know how I will feel about the extreme sticker shock when the fall rollouts start.

  26. Review of the colorblock sail jacket & colorblock poplin anorak. Both are $49.99 in-store. Cheaper than regular price & $79.99 online.

As far as these in-store prices, I keep updating the In-Store Price Notes. I know I don't have them all. The best advice I can give is to have items scanned at the register if you're really interested in them. Some of the toothpicks are $29.99, not marked properly in all stores. A couple more surprises. The calf hair magic wallet is $4.99. The leather coin purse is $9.99. Both prices before addtl 30%

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. ..oh...I published before reviewing. I think some of the toothpicks might be $19.99. Like I said, it's confusing seeing the varying prices among stores. They need a couple of JCAs in each store to ticket all the markdowns properly!

      Delete
    2. Regarding the leather coin purse -- the blossom black is definitely $9.99. My mom & I couldn't figure out if we were looking at navy pink or red navy. Either or both of those are also $9.99.

Sally A - Glad you saw the golden gears info! Incredible price.

    3. Gigi - Thanks again! I can't believe it, from $118 to $21 (after 30% off). What a great deal.

  29. Someone was looking for the Ratti regatta (sail boats) tank in size 2. I saw two in size 2 at the Town Center in Boca Raton, FL. They have most sizes as of yesterday morning including two in my size which was weird because last weekend they only have a few left and my VPS checked at the back and didn't find my size. I guess the stores get additional stocks even for sale items so it is worth checking back.
