Rant: I’m a bit annoyed with LL Bean today. I received a pair of Wicked Good shearling lined leather slippers in the mail today. The slippers themselves are amazing. I absolutely love them. But the way they were packaged for shipping was very disappointing. No shipping box or wrapping; they just slapped a shipping label on the shoe box! Like most shoe boxes, it’s made to allow air flow. It has a one inch diameter round hole plus two slits cut into the box, so there was nothing protecting the slippers from rain, snow, dirt, insects. I was shocked that a company like LL Bean would be so careless with shipping merchandise, so I called to let them know this was happening. The rep who answered the phone acted like I was unreasonable to expect a shipping box and insisted they always ship their shoes in the shoe box, without any wrapping. My opinion of LL Bean dropped substantially after that call.
