Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Sale is now 60% off but still FS. One benefit to slow shipping is PAs on sale purchases.

    1. I'm definitely going to ask, it's at the point of ridiculousness. Two weeks is too long, even with the holidays.

    2. I keep wanting to try the velvet mary jane flats, but not a single review. I just won't throw away even $40 on final sale anymore.

    3. Julie - you can always try calling to place the order, explain that you've found the sizing inconsistent in the past and ask if they will waive final sale and put note on the file. I don't think a customer can do this too often because they will understandably check the account, but if you only do this a couple of times a year (and the requests are spaced out) my experience is that they will accommodate and put note on the file. I've also successfully called and asked them post purchase to waive final sale a couple of times when it was an item I had previously purchased in a prior season but the fit had changed. They've never said no to me, but, I don't ask very often and I try to be fair and endure buyers' remorse by keeping unsuccessful final sale items when I think it's fairer for me to keep.

On the whole - J Crew's customer service staff is amazing. Very professional, courtesy and helpful.

    4. I had to have CS (over the phone) manually apply pa's. they had not been previously done? maybe because orders were delayed? everyone call CS and check on pa's. they say are extremely back backed up. and that is why my pa's were not applied .

    5. If we request PAs to match the current promo (60 off but FS), will it make the items getting a PA final sale?

    6. Called for PAs. Was on hold for a while, but no issues. CS was helpful as always.

  2. Yup, I ordered the velvet bomber I was *not* looking at! I went to a 'M' based on reviews, am usually a 6. And a pair of pants for the Mr. I wasn't able to apply my catalog code as I am unexpectedly still in the hospital, but I hope CS will take pity on my sob story when I get out later today. Plus Mommy now will have a New Balance 247s.

  5. I placed on order on the 27th and still no shipping confirmation. They should have been here by today at the latest. Also still in stock! Beyond...

    1. 3 out of five of my delayed orders now with Canadian UPS . J Crew finally switched shipping companies (due to our postal strike) looks like none of them will be delivered today...so looks like I have to wait until Monday now. whatever...

    2. What the heck?!
The order I placed on the 5th is scheduled for delivery TODAY. How are there orders still in shipping limbo from BF?!

  6. The Sophie sweater blazer in cerise is $50 with the promo (and 42 with an extra catalog coupon). I wear my camel and pink several times a week and usually both days on the weekend. I grabbed the cerise as well and will wear all spring!

    1. Hi, there. Love your style and your instagram! I have the older 100% merino wool blend and love it. It wears like iron - no pilling at all! I've looked in vain for pop backs in my size but no luck. Do you have the newer wool blend version? How do you find the pilling situation? Thank you1

    2. Hi! Thanks so much for the kind words :). I only have the new version of the blazer and I haven’t had any polling issues, including several trips to the dry cleaners for both colors. I wear the heck out of mine too. I don’t doubt people have had issues I just haven’t had any. Hope that helps!

  7. I'm planning on returning those shoes I mentioned earlier that came in the wrong box and all crushed and stuff. Mostly out of principle. I'm annoyed someone thought that was acceptable.

  8. I think they're so overwhelmed with criticism about the number of unfilfilled orders that they changed the Order History page back to the older, less descriptive version! I just checked and mine is only showing the past five orders and no way to check older ones without the order number!

    1. Mine shows not only my outstanding, non-moving orders, but another 18 pages...

    2. Maybe I've been pinged by the system for obsessively checking on order status, so now I'm only allowed to view the old version of Order History.

    3. You're not alone, I literally check dozens of times a day!

    4. My stuff still hasn't shipped either. Out of seven orders more or less, I've gotten three candles. (I ordered nine in one order.) the three came in two packages. Huge waste of boxes and packing material too. (I reuse/recycle but still)

  9. I will likely not visit this weekend but will see if I can get a PA on my order from earlier this week. I have a few things in my cart - the 60% off makes it hard to resist - looking at the red lace pencil skirt and the pave circles necklace and the tweed poppy flats with the glitter bow.

A few notable new sale items are the tweed 365 blazer - was hoping to grab the matching skirt but it's not in stock in my size. I adore this blazer - the velvet one just hit sale too.

Echoing what others have said though that they really need to get their stuff together in terms of items. When I go to check out, the free standard shipping estimated delivery date is December 19th. WOW.

  10. I don't recall in recent years there being this much media stunting by them in the holidays. Sure there's a catalog and maybe some store events, but it feels like they're going full force on this current campaign. That's all good and well (and I love the charitable components to it) but what happened to the basics like shipping and being able to talk to customer service without a 45+ minute hold (that was this morning)?

I have placed several orders since Black Friday and none have shipped. Some show a 6-8 business day ship time too. I ordered some things from Aerie for gifts and they were here within less than 48 hours - free shipping for all no less.

If you're going to do all of this stunting and sales, you're going to need to be able to handle the volume of orders. #ventover

  11. Finally, a BF delivery today! Sadly, my items came in a weird, thin red plastic bag with two tears and there was NO invoice included. Not items I am likely to return but still, check your packages.

    1. Yes my orders came with no invoice. If you email the order number you will get one emailed back. (eventually!)

    2. My one order didn't either. I'm so used to having one I didn't even check so when I went to return I didn't know what to do. They told me it wasn't an issue and found my order with my account but what if it was a stand alone order with no account.

  12. Like everyone else, I’m waiting on orders. Recent promos have been too good to resist.

Received Demylee ribbed merino wool dress. Asked CS to upgrade shipping. Based upon the lone review I sized down 2 sizes to an XS. It’s body skimming & looks really nice. Fit is still relaxed even with sizing down, so definitively runs big. Fabric is well done. Soft & not itchy. Ribbing is a nice detail. It reminds me of Vince or Eileen Fisher at a fraction of the cost. With tax it was $70. Planning to layer with suede and leather leggings. Will wear with tights in the office. Definitely recommend if you can find your size.

    1. @mygoddy that’s good to hear. I ordered the Demylee sweater blazer in leopard in one and two sizes down. Customer Service was unable to provide measurements so it was a bit of a gamble. Now I’m thinking the smallest size might work ! Waiting for the order (and a few others) to ship of course;-)

    2. Happy to help! Hope the sweater blazer works for you. The quality seems to be quite good. I won’t be surprised if the smallest size works.

  13. I also ordered a few things today, the side zip bomber jackets for my two older girls, some crop NB leggings, a few items for my husband, new vegan leather skirts I saw for the first time (not final sale), a black and ivory stripe rugby shirt I never noticed, the wide leg crop knit pants in wool cotton (they will be loose but I wanted them for loungewear) etc.
I had to keep coming back and I noticed different items throughout the day which was kind of odd.

    1. Maybe the popups are new returns processed by stores or something?

I made it home from hospital, called customer service about my AM order. With the $25 gift card plus the 15% catalog coupon plus 60% off sale, my velvet bomber jacket is free, the New Balance 247s are $10 and Hubs pants are $25. Very nice! I applied the $25 gift card to the final sale items first...

  14. Stopped in the store tonight for a pick up and exchange. Store was 30% off purchase on full price and an extra 40% off if you spent at least $150 (I think). Store matched online sales, so exchanged pom pom faux fur hat for everyday cashmere beanie in ivory. Tried the hat on and really liked it. Ordered tweed poppy flats with glitter bow. Store didn’t have my size but matched online. No final sale and less than $50. Store also expedited shipping at no extra charge. I returned Kreafunk in-ear pods since regular wireless headphones by same brand worked much better.

    1. Great score on those shoes, ESP since you're not wearing heels at the moment. I was so tempted to get them but I have Avery pumps with a very low heel that have a black bow but similar (ish) tweed that I don't wear enough so I stopped myself.

    2. @Suz Has Thank you & you scored too with the coats! Wow! I’m definitely happy to get them since I’m gonna be flat bound for a bit longer.

  15. There seem to be coats from previous seasons reduced and then additional 50 off. I just ordered a cocoon coat and chateau parka (hoping one daughter likes) for $50 each. Didn't search for my additional 15 off code as it's way early and I can't sleep. I don't have a cocoon coat and even though the pockets don't get much love, for the price it's a good backup.

    1. I saw those coats (and refused to look as I have enough coats) - lucky you! Can't you call CS and get the 15% code applied?
I was up at 5am with my painful tummy, I'm up a lot, could probably start a J Crew popback purchasing service for a the next couple weeks.
I found a 2017 Wool/cashmere Ludlow topcoat for the Mr. like that - and paid only $75. He's nearly been sleeping in it.

    2. I looked at the sale coats about 5:45 AM and they would not apply an extra 50% off the sale prices. darn it :)

    3. Wish I saw them.... my chateau parka 2yrs old getting worn out..... would be happy to replace.... I do like the lodge coat..... but don’t need it for $200..... will wait for sale...

  17. The Blackwatch Tippi finally arrived. It is printed in the way the tiger patch merino cardigan was last year, where in the ribbing of the bottom and cuffs, and along seams, the dye hasn't fully penetrated so there are small lines of white showing on an otherwise dark sweater. It's also kind of sheer for a dark sweater too. I may consider it again on super sale but I'm disappointed in the quality.

    1. Alyssa, I recently returned the leopard print tippi for the same reason. I returned another misprinted tippi earlier in the year, too.

    2. Yup I returned my Blackwatch Tippi for the same reasons. I didn’t understand how a sweater could be dark AND see through at the same time but JC managed to make one.

    3. Beautiful! But it can't be 21 inches long as the description states. That would be much more like high waist length, not low hip.

  19. Does anyone know if J.Crew will reissue a lost reward? I had a $50 off $150 reward that came in a gift card form so I was planning to use it with the sale right now and when i went to grab my mailer it came on I can’t find it anywhere I’m assuming one of my kids moved it or it got thrown away

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I've had decent luck asking. Depends on the type of reward, I suppose.

      Delete
    2. Paul, I think I have the same one, but it's 50 off $150 AND CANNOT BE COMBINED with other promos. So the current 40/50% off is better. Mine says it expires in Feb and this is the type of promo I'd most likely never use since online promos tend to be better and there's almost always 30% off full price in store.

  20. I’m expecting two orders tomorrow but even with them arriving, I still have one outstanding BF order and two partial orders that have yet to update with a ship date. I placed an order on Saturday morning and the expected delivery date is Dec. 20. NASA posted that a delivery to the International Space Station takes 4 days door to space door. JC is now approaching 2 weeks within the continental US. I just cannot understand how they think this is acceptable for a major retailer in this day and age.

  21. Logistics, bad weather, overwhelming demand, lack of personnel in their distribution centers to name a few. I’ve been fortunate no delays. CS is closed in Lynchburg today I’m sure due to very bad weather conditions. Feel bad for everyone including customers. New Mexico CS was an intelligent decision logistically. They’ve been very pleasant and helpful as well. I’ve heard people being quite rude to CS personnel, this is uncalled for. Being nice goes a long way. Ask for a favor, they will accommodate.

    1. I think J Crew CS is very good, every time I've had an issue there is a good resolution. Sometimes I am surprised by the generous offers - like matching the price on a non-sale item to replace a sale item that arrived damaged.

      Delete
    2. i don’t see a reason to be rude to anyone, especially a frontline worker like a phone CS, who clearly are not to be blamed for a company logistics problem. at the same time though, i sympathize with customers who expect better service. ever since BF i have given up on trying to call for assistance. I tried calling five times, different times of day, and gave up every time after waiting 25+ minutes. not angry though - just frustrated.

  23. Hi JCA's - has anybody successfully been able to have CS cancel an order that's been "in progress" for over a week? I placed an order on CM with the intention of gifting it to my sister on 12/12, but it hasn't shipped and I've had to go elsewhere to buy a gift. I know I can just ship it back when it gets here but at this point, I'd rather not have them bother fulfilling the order. Just curious! I've never had this issue with JC before.

    1. I did ask that once, but they do not have a process. I am sure you will be allowed to return w/o a fee when it does arrive though.

    2. I tried to cancel an order that I placed almost 2 weeks ago that said "in progress" and they told me that it was to late to cancel. So, I asked for the tracking # since if it was too late to cancel then it must have shipped. Of course he didn't have one.

      Delete
    3. Yes, I cancelled 2 delayed orders last summer. Apparently managers have access to cancel but regular phone reps do not.

      Delete
  24. Yes, preorders and occasionally others. Mention to them the circumstances and they will provide you with a direct return label bypassing Narvar. Ask for the UPS Ground return label. Fastest way to return and you should get a refund pretty quickly. Take a snapshot before you send items back so you can track and cross reference if there is a delay in a credit. Another suggestion advise CS of the tracking number so they can note it on your account if there are issues. They will credit you immediately if there a longer than usual delay. Free shipping return. Hope this helps.

  25. New code ‘MONDAY’ seems to be working on the already reduced (but not final sale) prices. I tried a few women’s coats and it works. Considering getting the downtown field coat for my step-mom but recent reviews say the sizing is off.....
