  1. Received a J Crew pkg yesterday w a “gift” jigsaw puzzle of old catalog photos. It has always been a nice gesture that they send these little gifts to customers. Now if they could just send my BF orders!

    1. Wow. I’ve never received a gift all these years. Didn’t even get the last 2 style guides in the mail.

    2. I received a puzzle as well yesterday. Not complaining about a gift but something more practical would be nice...I will probably give it to my niece. I have my snow globe displayed from last year and we've used the deck of cards a few times.

    3. I received 2 copies of the last catalog but did not receive the current one. Like most issues, J.Crew is baffling unorganized with regard to catalog distribution. And I’ve also never received a gift in all my many years and many thousands of dollars as a J.Crew customer. Apparently J.Crew is not that into keeping me as a customer.

    4. Agree re disorganized, Jeanne, but it’s still more egalitarian than under the MD/JL regime. Remembering the time I heard that before each season, J.Crew put out a Lookbook. I called my PS (they were not yet stylists). First she insisted that there was no such thing. Then - well, maybe. Then she had the nerve to tell me that they were only given to “good” customers, and then she said she couldn’t tell me what that meant. From then on I went out of my way to avoid that woman.

I didn’t get “gifts” until Jenna was gone (or effectively gone). I loved the little leather date-books, some of the later stuff didn’t fit my life. I didn’t receive the fruit basket (only for a few good customers), nor did I receive the extravagantly priced yellow metal luggage - yes that happened.

I haven’t had problems getting catalogs (crosses fingers), although they arrive late.

I think if they have any guiding principles, it’s a kind of planned random irrationality, if there is such a thing.

    5. Never understood the algorithms for Style Guide and gift distribution. Over many years, I’ve received both in years of minimal spending, and been ignored in the years I’ve spent thousands. And vice versa. It’s a mystery, and the employees have always seemed about as uninformed as I am about the matter.

    1. absolutely - I'd email and explain the situation, they're usually pretty good about it.

I'm glad you said that, because when it popped back I ordered it (gray velvet button down)!! I tried to call this morning on my way to work but was on hold the entire time, which is okay, I felt pretty confident about it.

Boy, did you see they had several different styles of coat half off, and then the add'l 50% off this morning? They were gone by 8 am! I didn't have a need, but I hope some JCAs were able to score! (the faux fur was not included in those, Anne)

    3. I should have fact checked. Judging by the add'l 50% off not being available on boys sale coats, they probably were not on womens' either. Maybe at the magic hour.

    4. I tried the code on one of the coats this morning around 7 and it didn't work...so maybe it was a magic hour thing

    5. Nope - it didn't work, period. I was up around 4 ET and saw it, and tried the code on a few coats under the 50% off section, and nothing worked. Probably can't combine.

    6. I would definitely order a D if it doesn't work out let them know your ordered was cancelled.

    7. I'm glad to be in good company, I sent a nice email request.

Also - I am stalking the tracking on a couple of shipped packages and they both just updated...in case anyone else is as impatient as I. One is out for delivery, and one will be delivered tomorrow.

  4. Gotta say I love the Cameron crop. I've tried the Cameron ponte, high-waist, Italian wool, 365 and seersucker. The fit is different for all of them, but the 365 and seersucker are the best for my body and I'm so grateful to finally have work pants that fit and don't look like leggings with a loose leg or muffin tops. I'm still waiting on the khaki colored 365s, and I've discovered the gray 365s fit a size smaller than the black ones. I already own the blue, black and seersucker, and I hope they keep this workhorse around for awhile!

    1. thanks...I will be looking to try these pants out. I always need good work pants...

    2. Are you talking about 4 season stretch? I couldn’t find 365. Agree they all for different! Even from color to color. I like the cotton stretch in grey the best the black are not the same. I have 2 of the 4 season stretch and they are nice... but different fits

    3. @Kate - Yes! My older Camerons are four-season stretch but the latest ones I got last month say four-season in the description online but the pants label say 365. I assume they mean the same, since four seasons = 1 year = 365 days. The only Camerons I haven't tried are the cotton stretch - glad to hear they fit well too! I just ordered the houndstooth Cameron in a size bigger than I usually take since all the Camerons seem to be consistently undersized.

  5. Both of the perfect fit turtlenecks I ordered arrived with mercantile labels. I’m confused because the bags and invoice have the correct item name. IDK what’s going on, but they’re both going back.

I ordered something this morning that I absolutely don’t need, but I’ve been wanting for ages: the gray wool flannel Seevees sneakers. I just posted here that I have too many sneakers and don’t need more, but at $24.99 - $10 rewards, they were a small splurge.

  6. It's OT but Boden has 30% off flash sale and their shipping (to Canada) is very fast.

  7. Anyone's order placed on Dec 1st or 2nd shipped yet?

  8. Finally got my Black Friday order.
The slim boyfriend jeans with patch and distressing are great. I bought my regular size and tall in my regular size. I think I'm better off sticking with the regular as the tall is a bit looser and I think they'll stretch out a little with wear. I've been searching for a backup for my Very distressed, always worn Goldsign for Jcrew jeans and I think these are them
The embellished fair isle has fit issues which is too bad. Aside from the fabric blend I love the style but it feels like it's on backwards and it's too short. If it goes on super sale I'll buy a larger size and wear it slouchy.

  9. Yes overnighted Next Day Air, in fact just about everything I order is Next Day Air thanks to my fabulous VPS. On other orders UPS Ground here in 3 days max none of them USPS. There is an advantage here being in Palm Beach area, direct service down I-95 or UPS Air as the planes land in West Palm Beach, go to their delivery center a few minutes away and out their door and no nasty weather to contend with.

  10. I'm very happy with customer service this season. I've emailed them a few times to apply additional promo codes to my online orders because those codes wouldn't work at check out. They've adjusted my orders without any problem. They are definitely taking a few extra days to respond, but that's to be expected this time of year.

  11. My orders are finally trickling in, one piece at a time literally. But my green cashmere turtleneck finally arrived (just in time for the holidays) and I do love it. I bought the Turtleneck in Donegal Cashmere. It has a tight fitting neck and it's not boxy or wide. It runs TTS. It's on sale and with an extra 60% off it's a good deal. It feels more like wool to me than cashmere though - it's not super soft.

  12. Im wondering if any of you can figure out the rewards now. The credit card said they aren't handling them anymore and I can see some I placed with a regular non jcrew credit card but don't see how to track the ones I placed with my JCrew card.
